#FIRSTLOOK: “THE NEW LOOK”
This looks amazing. A Thriller that combines war-time suspense and Fashion. THE NEW LOOK stars Ben Mendelsohn and Juliette Binoche. Apple TV+ has just announced a series order.
“The New Look” is an epic thriller set against the World War II Nazi Occupation of Paris when Coco Chanel’s reign as the world’s most famous fashion designer ends and Christian Dior rises helping return spirit and life to the world with his ground-breaking, iconic imprint of beauty and influence that will go on to define generations to come. “The New Look” will be produced by Apple Studios and written, executive produced and directed by Todd A. Kessler (”Bloodline,” “Damages,” “The Sopranos”), with Emmy Award-winner Ben Mendelsohn (“Rogue One,” “Bloodline”) and Academy Award-winner Juliette Binoche (“The English Patient,” “Chocolat”) attached to star.
Inspired by true events and filmed exclusively in Paris, “The New Look” is a live-action, World War II-era thriller that centres on the pivotal moment in the Twentieth Century when Paris led the world back to life through its fashion icons: Christian Dior (played by Mendelsohn), whose creations dominated world fashion in the decade following World War II. The interwoven saga will include the surprising stories of Dior’s contemporaries and rivals: the grand dame Coco Chanel (played by Binoche), Balmain, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent and more.
THE NEW LOOK will stream on Apple TV+. More to come.

#TIFF18: “NON-FICTION” REVIEW
Review by Amanda Gilmore for Mr. Will Wong
Non-Fiction follows Parisian publisher Alain (Guillaume Canet), who is looking into changing his current publishing ways for a new media landscape, and his successful actor-wife Serena (Juliette Binoche). It is coming to TIFF in the Special Presentations Programme for its Canadian Premiere after playing the Venice Film Festival to rave reviews.
Writer-Director Olivier Assayas has crafted a powerful Script about the ever-changing media and how it ultimately changes the interactions and personalities of us in the process. Canet and Binoche are cast perfectly as husband and wife who have slowly changed their feelings towards each other just as media slowly has changed us.
Non-Fiction screens Tuesday, September 11 at 4:30 PM at Elgin Theatre and Wednesday, September 12 at 9:30 AM at TIFF Bell Lightbox 1.

#TIFF14: DAY 1 RECAP – ROBERT DOWNEY JR., TOM HARDY, MELISSA MCCARTHY, JULIETTE BINOCHE
I live for this Festival! TIFF ’14 Day One has arrived at long last and what an eventful day it was. I appreciate everyone taking the time to tune-in to CP24 for my Interview with Stephen LeDrew! As always, it’s a blast contributing every year and I’m honoured to be asked to help-out again this year. Catch me throughout the Festival and visit their official website for some of my exclusives!
In case you missed it, my Interview can be streamed here.
Thanks Steve Neville for the Capture!
The Carpet tonight was absolutely crazy for The Judge, the Drama sees Robert Downey Jr. play a Big City Lawyer who returns to his hometown to learn that his Father, a Judge, stands accused of Murder! Stars Dax Shepard (and Wife Kristen Bell!), Vera Farmiga and Robert Duvall also graced the Roy Thomson Hall Carpet. One lucky young Man dressed as Iron Man even got a Photo Op with Downey! More pics to come tomorrow of the Cast, but here’s one of Downey greeting Fans. He was spotted afterward at Ivan Reitman‘s new Restaurant, Montecito although Fans and Media were barred access seeing the Cast’s arrivals.
French Star Juliette Binoche always is a Vision and it was amazing seeing her up-close over at the Princess of Wales Theatre. The Actress stars alongside Kristen Stewart (absent tonight) in the Drama about an aging Actress’ struggles and her Friendship with her Assistant. See a Snap below of Binoche greeting Fans.
Everyone doubted me but here’s proof for your own eyes. TOM HARDY IS IN TOWN! I was one of the few lucky ones who got a Snap of him tonight. The Actor stars in The Drop, known as the late James Gandolfini‘s final performance on-screen. The New York-filmed Movie sees Hardy as a Bartender caught between the Mafia and what’s right. As anticipated, he was amazingly gracious and those who are following know he was my #1 this Festival. I’m on Cloud Nine.
As if things couldn’t get any better, we also spotted the brilliant Melissa McCarthy who stars alongside Bill Murray in St. Vincent. Although it took the Bridesmaids Star a while to confirm, she eventually made it. She was exhausted but made an exception for a quick Snap. I’m dying.
As always, we LOVE a good Giveaway! How about an authentic signed TOM HARDY Photo?
Want it? Simply click “like” on the Post with that Signed Tom Hardy Photo over at Mr. Will Wong on Facebook to enter! All are welcome. Now’s the time to let all your Friends in on Toronto’s best-kept Secret!

#GIVEAWAY: ENTER TO WIN RUN-OF-ENGAGEMENT PASSES ACROSS CANADA FOR “WORDS AND PICTURES”
Mr. Will and D Films want to take Readers across Canada to see the delightful WORDS AND PICTURES, which premiered in Toronto last Fall at TIFF ’13!
Jack Marcus, a charismatic writer, and Dina Delsanto, an enigmatic, well-respected painter, are both teachers at a New England prep school. As they supervise a spirited ongoing debate between their students as to whether or not a picture (her forte) really is worth a thousand words (his domain), Jack’s extroverted wit clashes with Dina‘s private nature, and mutual dislike turns to rivalry, then rivalry to powerful attraction.
WORDS AND PICTURES star JULIETTE BINOCHE and CLIVE OWEN.

#SPOTTED: GARETH EDWARDS IN TORONTO FOR “GODZILLA”
The praise already is pouring in for Gareth Edwards’ upcoming Reboot of GODZILLA. Toronto was lucky enough to host a Premiere for the Action-Adventure filmed in British Columbia and coming-in to support the Blockbuster was none other than the Director himself!
Those of you who have walked by Yonge x Elm Streets these past few days might have noticed an eye-popping disaster-themed installation courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures Canada. The smokey street-level Exhibit which had Torontonians Instagramming away, simulates a Subway crashing into the concrete and a Helicopter on-the-scene.
Following a round of Interviews in the rain, Edwards was a great sport greeting Fans, regardless of the weather and fielding Media questions before heading-off to the Premiere at Cineplex Yonge & Dundas. The Film sees the Father-Son Duo of Scientist Joe Brody (Bryan Cranston) and his Son, Lieutenant Ford Brody (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) teaming to investigate the Janjira collapse. Sally Hawkins, Juliette Binoche, Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn and Elizabeth Olsen round-out an extremely talented Cast.
See the Trailer below:
See some Snaps of the Festivities:
In case you were wondering, the Installation will be around till this Sunday, so don’t forget to check it out and use the Hashtag #GodzillaTO!
Our Review of GODZILLA is right here.
Warner Bros. Pictures Canada release Godzilla this Friday, May 16, 2014.
