Toronto rolled-out the Red Carpet for English Funnyman Simon Pegg. The star known best for the Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and TheWorld’s End) has heightened his profile with prolific roles in the Star Trek and Mission Impossible Franchises.
While Pegg has visited prior for the Toronto International Film Festival, he came to promote Mission Impossible: Fallout, in which he reprises the role of Benji Dunn. He did various outlets including CITY‘s Breakfast Television, in addition to walking the Red Carpet for the Film at Scotiabank Theatre.
Hosted by eTalk‘s Devon Soltendieck, Pegg introduced the Film to a lucky audience and you’ll never guess what happened! Pegg publicly professed his love for us “Oh, I can’t get enough of the guy!” when asked if he was a fan of ours!

Paramount Pictures Canada + Mr. Will want to take Readers in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal to see MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION first Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
Blamed for a terrorist attack on the Kremlin, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the entire IMF agency are disavowed by the U.S. government, while the president initiates the Ghost Protocol. Forced to go “off the grid” — left without resources or backup — Hunt must somehow clear the agency’s name and prevent another attack. Complicating matters even more, Ethan must undertake the impossible mission with a group of fellow IMF fugitives whose actual motives are suspect.
Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Alec Baldwin and Rebecca Ferguson star.

The 2015 TriBeCa Film Festival ran from April 15-26, 2015 in beautiful Tribeca, New York and I attended for the first time ever! What originally drew me into travelling for 10 days to New York City for this incredible Film Festival co-founded by Robert DeNiro to bring people back downtown New York after the tragedies of 9/11, were the conversations, or Tribeca Talks: Director Series that was announced in the middle of March, just a mere month before the Festival. The booking and scouring to look-up Films, allow time to line up and travel, and build a schedule with no backups had begun.
The Tribeca Talks: Director Series that was just aforementioned including one hour Conversations with George Lucas moderated by Stephen Colbert, Christopher Nolan moderated by Bennett Miller, Cary Fukunaga moderated by James Schumer, and last not certainly not least, Brad Bird moderated by Janeane Garofalo. These Talks were not only incredible for their insight, but they were beyond entertaining and masterful. The 60 minutes flew-by in what felt like seconds, but the entire time was surreal, something that words cannot merely describe.
As well, the selection of seemingly endless Movies was unfathomable. There were so many great choices, and promising options, most of which turned out to be extremely fun and enjoyable while others fell short of that standard. Some of the highlights were: Leslye Headland’s Sleeping with Other People starring Alison Brie and Jason Sudeikis. This Movie was absolutely hysterical as it steered from the typical Romantic Comedy norms and clichés, and provided new laughs and nuances that truly made this RomCom stand-out from the crowd. Hopefully it gets a Canadian release, and if it unfortunately does not it will be released on VOD 90 days after its opening in Cinemas. Other standouts included Man Up from Director Ben Palmer which paired Simon Pegg and Lake Bell together in an unseeingly-perfect Romantic Comedy as well. I swear I did not just see Romcoms at TriBeCa. Ashby from Director Tony McNamara is another extremely funny, brilliant, Dark Comedy featuring Mickey Rourke, Nat Wolff and Emma Roberts. The Film focuses on Wolff and Rourke who is a former Assassin and how the manage to enrich one another’s life.
The TriBeCa Film Festival also features an after the Movie discussion for certain Titles, not that the new Movies don’t have Q&As but rather they take older Movies and bring back Cast and Crew for a 45 minute discussion about the Movie and some insider information regarding the Project. The one that I was lucky enough to attend was Gus Van Sant’s brilliant Good Will Hunting. Minnie Driver, Gus Van Sant and Stellan Skarsgård were in attendance for this post movie talk and included a lot of information about Robin Williams on the set. This moved most of the Audience to laughter and tears. Some of the most memorable moments were when Skarsgårdrevealed that the first take of the scene between Williams and Skarsgårdin the bar, Robin did the entire Role in his Nicholson impersonation. Another memorable tidbit was from Driver who reveled that the focus puller was terrible and could not be fired because he was related to someone high up so he referred to him as Helen…Keller. Moments like these unknown facts are what make for great memories.
TriBeCa was an incredible experience, which offered a ton of excitement in an array of events geared to true Film Lovers. These separate ticketed events are something that would be classified as once in a lifetime. Events such as Mary J. Blige’s Documentary The London Sessions, followed by her performing a live Concert, or a showing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail followed by a Talk with Monty Python. However, the Closing Night Film was the piece DE résistance. Goodfellas’ 25th Anniversary Screening in the new 4K restoration with a post-Screening Discussion with Robert DeNiro, Ray Liotta, Lorraine Bracco and Paul Sorvino, moderated by Jon Stewart. That was a memory never to be duplicated.
TriBeCa was a delight to attend, and a Festival I cannot wait to experience again next year!
We do love our Tom Cruise. A new Teaser for the newly-named fifth installment of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE has just been released and we’re loving every minute of its two minutes. There’s humour thanks to Simon Pegg (camouflaged as a bush!), adrenaline (that plane door better open quick, Tom!) and the Franchise’s signature style – set to The Fugees’ Ready or Not – and that’s why Fans keep coming back for more!

We heard the acclaim at TIFF ’14 and now today you can see Simon Pegg and GONE GIRL Star Rosamund Pike in Co-Canadian-produced HECTOR AND THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS!
We recently engaged our Readers to Tweet and Instagram what to them meant happiness with the Hashtag #CAPTUREHAPPINESS and the responses were sweet and touching! We saw adorable Snaps of their Babies, Cats and Dogs among others and our hearts melted!
Our Contributor Jon Godfrey previewed the Title at TIFF and loved it. Read his Capsule Review here.
Let’s see if any of our Willionaire$ made this touching Reel from eOne Films.

eOne Films release HECTOR AND THE SEARCH FOR HAPPINESS today.
The excitement just doesn’t stop! TIFF ’14 DAY FOUR might have seen sparser numbers of Celebrities out and about, but it certainly wasn’t any shorter on that star quality.
We started off capturing Snaps at the Press Conference for Sony Pictures’ The Equalizer, based on the original TV Series and starring Denzel Washington, Chloë Moretz and Martin Csokas. After arriving fashionably late, Washington took the time to come out and throw waves and handshakes and posing in front of a long line of Fans.
Director Antoine Fuqua, who also brought us Training Day!
We later ran into the outstanding Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson, who reunited last week for a special 30th Anniversary Edition Ghostbusters Screening in honour of Bill Murray Day.
Shortly after, we also spotted Salma Hayek again, in-town for Gibran Khalil’s The Prophet. Absolutely gorgeous!
And absolutely unexpected, we crossed paths with Steve Carell as he did Press for FOXCATCHER. Word is that he’s been a bit touchy with the Fan Photos and Autographs since arriving this weekend. But amazingly he was nice to pose for Photos after he finished his Press!
The Imitation Game might not be premiering till Tuesday, but it already is creating much buzz and its Stars were spotted out and about today. The Drama sees Benedict Cumberatch playing Mathematician Alan Turing in the WWII Era where Homosexuality was punishable by law. And guess who we saw from its Cast?
We’ve long loved British Star Simon Pegg and having missed our chance to see him for Run Fatboy Run in 2007, finally we get a chance to see him here with the spirited Hector and the Search for Happiness this year.
Anna Kendrick‘s latest, The Last Five Years, adapted from the Musical of the same name is getting a great amount of buzz at TIFF ’14 and we are so happy to see her back again after an absence since 50/50 premiered here!
There is no denying that in my Catalogue of Photos with the Stars, this takes the cake! Bill Murray is loved and celebrated by many and hot on the heels of TIFF‘s recognition of him via its BILL MURRAY DAY last week, we finally get our own moment with him. We spotted the comedic Star doublefisting drinks… just the way it was meant to be!
All Photographs taken on the NIKON D3300 and communicated via the Samsung Galaxy S5.
