“I was just reading e-mails…”
Joseph Gordon-Levitt tries his hand (pardon the pun) at Acting/Writing and Directing in Don Jon, a Porn Addict from New Jersey who tries finding happiness with a Girl who potentially could be “the one”. Although it wasn’t formally announced at last week’s list of Films to premiere at TIFF ’13, this Comedy was later confirmed by Canadian Distributor Mongrel Media to screen at this year’s Festival.
Don Jon features a superb Cast including Julianne Moore, Scarlett Johansson, Tony Danza and I think we even see a Cameo from Anne Hathaway in there! It is said Gordon-Levitt wrote the part of his Girlfriend specifically for Johansson.

Acclaimed British Actress Olivia Williams is among the Talent currently in Toronto filming David Cronenberg‘s latest Drama, Maps to the Stars. Tonight we spotted her returning back from a weekend Getaway at Lake Muskoka, impressively driving herself in her rented car, two hours outside the City. She was extremely lovely and humble, excusing her appearance not having any make-up on, before snapping a Photo graciously. Surely you will agree the Star of Films like Hanna, An Education, The Sixth Sense and upcoming Seventh Son, is absolutely stunning even without being made-up?
The Film, which just began production recently, already has seen several Members of its Principal Cast in town including John Cusack, Julianne Moore and Mia Wasikowska, who had the Tabloids and Entertainment Shows busy after she was spotted kissing Boyfriend Jesse Eisenberg last week here in the City. Robert Pattinson Fans have been awaiting updates anxiously about his arrival and the Twilight Star still has yet to be seen in Toronto.
Maps to the Stars, is said to be a scathing look at Hollywood’s relationship with Western Culture, filming in Toronto till mid-August.

Based on the Book by Jeff Delaney, Warner Bros. has just released this amazing looking Trailer for Action/Fantasy, Seventh Son.
Official Synopsis:
In a time long past, an evil is about to be unleashed that will reignite the war between the forces of the supernatural and humankind once more. Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges), the last of the Falcon Knights, had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch, Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore), many years ago. But now she has escaped and is seeking vengeance. Summoning her followers of every incarnation, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world. Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory. In a deadly reunion, Gregory comes face to face with the evil he always feared would someday return. He has only until the next full moon to do what usually takes years: train his new apprentice, Tom Ward (Ben Barnes) to fight a dark magic unlike any other. Man’s only hope lies in the seventh son of a Seventh Son.
Seventh Son also stars: Kit Harington, Djimon Honsou, Jason Scott Lee, Olivia Williams, Antje Traue and more; Sergey Bodrov directs.

With a lack of Marquee Features to film in Toronto this Summer, David Cronenberg‘s long-gestating project, Maps to the Stars is confirmed to film in Toronto between Monday, July 8 through Monday, August 12, 2013. Co-produced by Entertainment One and Prospero Pictures, the Film as of last week had inked multiple distribution deals in Cannes and is said to be on the verge of closing even more deals in several other markets soon including Mexico, Hong Kong, India and Brazil.
The dark Drama based upon the Novel Dead Stars by Bruce Wagner, who also helms the Script, is said to be a scathing attack on Hollywood Celebrity Culture and the pursuit of Fame. Its most recognizable face, Robert Pattinson stars as Jerome and as announced prior, Julianne Moore and John Cusack star also as Havana and Sanford respectively. Moore was in the City just last Summer filming the Carrie Remake and we look forward to seeing her around again!
Recent additions to the Cast include Mia Wasikowska, Olivia Williams and Newcomer Evan Bird in the shocking role of a drug-addicted Child Actor. Toronto’s own Sarah Gadon, who has starred in Cronenberg‘s last two Films A Dangerous Method and Cosmopolis (opposite Pattinson), reunites with him a third time here.
More to come…

Beyond excited! I’m packing-up and heading out to New York City for a few days to capture the Festivities at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which always has been a dream of mine to experience. Like the rest of us I won’t be inside, but still I’ll be admiring the Fashion from the outside and sure to snap lots of Photos and hopefully meet some of my Idols! The theme this year is Punk and hosting is Rooney Mara, while Beyoncé will act as Honourary Chair.
Things will be a bit quiet for the next couple days, but be sure to check back upon my return for what surely will be lots of excitement! Expected this year are the likes of Amanda Seyfried, Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Gwyneth Paltrow, Dakota Fanning, Kristen Stewart, Rihanna, Florence Welch, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lawrence, Cara Delevingne, Kanye West and several, several more.
If you’d like to join-in on the fun at watch the Met Gala Red Carpet, be sure to stream it live 7:00 PM EST on Monday, May 6, 2013. Click here to Vogue‘s Live Streaming.

So basically I need to see this. Right now. The first full Trailer for the Carrie Remake, by Director Kimberly Peirce has surfaced and it is everything we could hope for. The fact that it was filmed in Toronto holds a dear place to me and it was amazing seeing the Cast out and about in my neighbourhood last Summer while filming. Chloë Moretz truly delivers her A-Game here and the ending looks terrifying.

Finally! Our hearts were broken when we heard the Toronto-filmed Carrie Remake was getting pushed to a Fall release, but alas we recognize the benefit of releasing around Halloween in terms of marketability and demand. This brand new Still, release exclusively to Empire Magazine, of a bloody Chloë Moretz is not only getting us real excited, but also giving us serious Flashbacks of Sissy Spacek in her epic 1976 performance – not that a lot of us were around then yet.
For those who haven’t seen or read Stephen King‘s Carrie, it centers around a socially awkward and sheltered Teen Girl who discovers she has Telekinetic Powers. With her Peers plotting to humiliate her at the forthcoming Prom, they just might find out the price of going a bit too far with the Prank.
See the brand new Still below:
For now, we will have to snack on this Teaser, but it shouldn’t be long before we get the official Trailer.

Carrie Stars Julianne Moore and Chloe Moretz made an appearance on the Red Carpet at Javitz Center earlier today as part of New York Comic Con Festivities. The R-rated Remake directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry) just wrapped in Toronto last month looks well on-target for its March 2013 release with a Teaser Trailer set to be unveiled Monday night on Yahoo! Movies. At once, the above Teaser Poster was unveiled – bloody horrifying.
A Panel took place earlier with Julianne Moore, Chloë Moretz and Peirce, where Fans could watch live via Webstream. On having to be covered in blood for much of the Shoot, Moretz was a great sport about it saying, “I just got used to coming home every day covered in blood and the people at the Front Desk must’ve been, ‘Wow! She must’ve had a really hard day at work!'”.
Moore also has a bit of fun explaining her psychotic Margaret White explaining, “Her only Family and Community is this Child, Carrie. So for her it’s about keeping that as intact as possible, so the moment Carrie moves away from her, she senses real danger and wants to parent her.”.
