Elevation Pictures x Mr. Will want to take Readers to an Advance Screening of George Clooney‘s SUBURBICON, which premiered at TIFF ’17! Screenings take place as follows 10/26: Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary.
Synopsis: Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) lives in the quiet family town of Suburbicon in 1959. The sleepy town is idyllic, until the Meyers family moves in. Despite the fact that the Meyers are hardworking, honest people with a well-brought up young son, because they’re black, the good people of Suburbicon become more and more outraged, putting up high fences to block out any view of the family and eventually protesting outside the Meyers‘ home.
This sets the scene for a brutal break-in to occur without anyone in the town noticing. Two violent men break into Gardner’s home and terrorize his young son, Nicky (Noah Jupe),Gardner‘s wheelchair-bound wife Rose (Julianne Moore) and Rose‘s twin sister, Margaret (Julianne Moore). The break-in not only ends in a death, but raises serious questions about the people of Suburbicon.

Elevation Pictures release SUBURBICONFriday, October 27, 2017.
From Director George Clooney and Writers Joel and Ethan Coen, the anticipation for Suburbicon was through the roof. Unfortunately the anticipation got the best of this Film and it falls flat. What should’ve been a Film that goes out of the park ends up as a foul that no one can catch.
The Movie focuses on Rose (Julianne Moore), Gardner (Matt Damon) and their son Nicky (Noah Jupe). They live in a small suburban neighbourhood in the 1950s-era and the neighbourhood becomes shaken up when they are the subjects of a home invasion that takes a dark turn. The Movie ends up turning into a dark(er) Thriller as it progresses and introduces us to the most interesting character, Roger (Oscar Isaac).
The performance from Oscar Isaac is what makes Suburbicon most interesting, but he is far too under utilized and the rest of the Film is rather bland shockingly. With what both Clooney has proven behind a camera and the Coen’s have proven with a script, there was so much hope that falls so short that there truly is no saving grace.
Suburbicon screens at TIFF on Saturday, September 9th at 6:30 PM at the Princess of Wales and Sunday, September 10th at 12 PM at Roy Thomson Hall.
THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST THING I’VE EVER SEEN!!! What starts off already as an amazing edition of Carpool Karaoke with James Corden and Gwen Stefani spirals into an epic explosion of starpower! What a brilliant solution to HOV lanes!!

We’re officially kicking into high gear at TIFF ’15 and it was a majorly star-studded day in the City with a couple marquee premieres taking place tonight, Our Brand is Crisis and The Martian!
See who we spotted today! Exciting!
Julianne Moore was at TIFF Bell Lightbox bright and early for an In-Conversation-With and she is gearing-up to promote the superb fact-based drama Freeheld which has her in-contention for Awards Season once again. We spotted her co-star Ellen Page last night!
What the World needs is a bit of optimism. Director Brad Bird takes us away to fantastical action-packed journey to a place of infinite possibilities. We meet bright, scientifically-gifted Teen Casey Newton (Britt Robertson), who stumbles one day upon a pin, which upon contact takes her away to a strange new place which co-exists in tandem with reality. The pin stops working and her world unravels. She is driven to find the one Person who can help her get back to Tomorrowland. And that one Person happens to be jaded former Child Genus, Frank Walker (George Clooney). Despite their differences – she an Optimist, he a Pessimist – they find the more they want to uncover about Tomorrowland, the more they find their lives are threatened.
Canadian Actor Matthew MacCaull was in Toronto for a two-day Press Tour in support of what should easily be much the best at the Box Office this weekend. The multi-talented Montreal-born Actor cut his teeth at Dalhousie University out east before entering Show Business fully in the late ’90s. The Killing, Bates Motel, iZombie, Once Upon a Time – the Résumé steadily has been building and just now he received the opportunity of a lifetime, starring as Secret Spy, Dave Clark in Tomorrowland.
We had the pleasure of joining MacCaull on his final Press Day. He tells me that his rise in Hollywood continues to be an “uphill battle” and lets us in on the secretive casting process involved with a project of Tomorrowland‘s magnitude. And like us, he completely was floored by the performance from his young English Co-Star Raffey Cassidy, whom we agree “was impossible to look away from” when she is on-screen. Also, find out what’s next in-store for the striking Star.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Canada release TOMORROWLAND on Friday, May 22, 2015.
Stars of the Film, Fashion and Music Worlds gathered Monday night at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, for Fashion’s biggest night, the Costume Institute Ball – known more as the Met Ball or Met Gala – for a 44th year. As in previous years, the night was nothing short of spectacular and this year’s theme was China: Through the Looking Glass, which explores the Country’s influence on Fashion as we know it today. An Exhibition put-on in conjunction with the Museum’s Department of Asian Art, commences now through August, with the Gala kicking it all off.
The ultra-exclusive Affair is invite-only and if you are fortunate enough to be granted the opportunity to purchase a ticket even, acceptance is pending the approval of the most revered and feared Woman in the Industry, Anna Wintour.
Just so there was no confusion in the hierarchy, the dazzling A-List of predominantly female Talent would see its biggest stars Jay-Z and Beyoncé (in a revealing sheer Givenchy) arrive approximately three hours late, drawing a crowd of cheers from onlookers who lined street for a long glance at beauty and innovation when finally they did arrive.
Although a list of Guests was published prior, with Jennifer Lawrence named Event Chair this year, few know fully who exactly will arrive until they walk the many steps of the Red Carpet. Some Starlets stayed within their comfort zone wearing with an array of pretty form-fitting gowns. Others took major fashion risks, staying true to the Night’s established theme including Trailblazer Sarah Jessica Parker who had donned a Chinese Opera-like Headpiece over an H&M Dress, a strong contingent of Chinese Actresses including Gong Li, Ziyi Zhang, Carina Lau, Li Bing Bing, Gao Yuan Yuan, Tang Wei and more donned intricate creations with floral themed patterns. Dolce & Gabbana was most daring and our personal favourite, dressing a handful of Starlets like Karen Elson, Brie Larson and more in decadent golds with dazzling Tiaras fit for a Queen. Red-hot Moschino now underseen by Jeremy Scott, saw the likes of Madonna and Katy Perry garbed head-to-toe in his vision, the latter who turned heads with a cropped Pixie Cut which turned to blonde at the Afterparty which she had co-hosted. Not quite thematically correct, but still a visual Feast.
Others getting high praise for their looks were friends Anne Hathaway in a hooded gold Ralph Lauren numbers, Lady Gaga in a Zac Posen Pantsuit, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in rose-coloured Versace and Sophie Turner in teal Burberry Dress. And speaking of teal, Miley Cyrus would dazzle in a high-neck Alexander Wang dress, with her hair slicked-back and coloured as such. We also are a huge Fan of Kate Hudson‘s gold Michael Kors number.
Social Media was lit afire when Perry, Madonna and perceived Pop Rival Lady Gaga posed for Selfies together at the Ball’s official Afterparty in the City’s Meatpacking District. Both Lady Gaga and Rihanna also themselves would throw their own bashes, which would see the likes of Naomi Campbell, Robert Pattinson and his girlfriend FKA Twigs returning to their star-crammed Hotel in the wee hours at the break of dawn.
