eOne Films release SORRY TO BOTHER YOU Friday, July 13, 2018.

English Actor Tom Hopper has been hard at work in Toronto balancing filming Netflix’s upcoming Adpatation of THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY and family life back home. While the Series based on My Chemical Romance Frontman Gerard Way‘s Comic Books is set to wrap in about a month we thought we’d never see the star! Hopper plays one of the principal characters, Luther.

We spotted the Actor out and about King West going for a walk. Just yesterday his Castmates and he were out at the Field Trip Festival dancing to the grooves of  Damien Marley at Fort York!

In addition to roles on Black Sails, The Adventures of Merlin and Game of Thrones, Hopper last was seen this spring in Amy Schumer Comedy I FEEL PRETTY!

We totally weren’t ready for this spotting, which was completely random. Hopper was amazing to stop for a Selfie!

A little later in the day we spotted star of Haven, ER, Brothers & Sisters and Graceland, Emily Rose. Although it isn’t yet announced what she’s filming here in Toronto, we’re sure her fans are excited to see her return! She also was super-sweet to stop for a Snap!

SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY lands on-top of the Box Office a second straight week for Disney with $28.8 million week two, from 4,381 theatres. It has made $148 million thus far.

In second this weekend is DEADPOOL 2 with $23.5 million for 20th Century Fox, a total $254 million grossed domestically over three weeks.

Debuting in third with $11 million from 3,015 theatres is ADRIFT. The STX Entertainment/VVS Films release starring Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin gets a solid 71% on the Tomatometer and a B CinemaScore.

BH Tilt’s UPGRADE opens in sixth with $4.3 million from 1,457 theatres. The Horror gets 85% on the Tomatometer. This has yet to get a Canadian release.

ACTION POINT debuts in ninth for Paramount Pictures with $2.2 million from 2,032 theatres. The Johnny Knoxville-fronted Flick gets 17% ont the Tomatometer and a C+ CinemaScore.

OVERBOARD rounds-out the Top Ten with $2 million, a total $45.5 million earned in five weeks for Lionsgate Films/MGM.

Synopsis:
After draining his life savings to enter a team in the Rucker Classic street ball tournament in Harlem, Dax (LilRel Howery) is dealt a series of unfortunate setbacks, including losing his team to his longtime rival (Nick Kroll).

Desperate to win the tournament and the cash prize, Dax stumbles upon the man, the myth, the legend: Uncle Drew (NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving). He convinces him to return to the court one more time. The two men embark on a road trip to round up Drew’s old basketball squad (Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, Lisa Leslie) and prove that a group of septuagenarians can still win the big one.

Three-time Academy Award-winning Writer/Director Brad Bird is in Toronto to promote his follow-up to 2004’s The Incredibles. The occasional Voice Actor who voices eccentric fashion designer Edna Mode in the Franchise will be speaking at an In-Conversation-With at TIFF Bell Lightbox also reflecting on his successful career.

Bird did the rounds, appearing on Breakfast Television and The Morning Show in support of Incredibles 2. See his appearance here on BT.

While strapped for time, he made time to stop for a couple photos!
