After hosting a The Chippendales Event in Las Vegas to rousing success, 98° Member Jeff Timmons is now in Toronto taking it one step further with his MEN OF THE STRIP Tour!  Touching-down at Uniun Nightclub last night,  the Troupe of Exotic Male Dancers teased and pleased a packed Crowd of Women, demonstrating the choreography of Co-Founder Glenn Douglas Packard.

Las Vegas-Resident Timmons, Packard a sampling of the Dancers on the Tour including Keith and Joel, were out and about promoting the sizzling Affair around the City this morning. Stop-offs included KISS 92.5‘s The Roz & Mocha Show and also a visit to Global Television‘s The Morning Show (National Edition).

Just in Toronto earlier this year for the Megashow known as The Package Tour alongside New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men, the future currently is uncertain for 98°, one of the biggest Boy Bands of the ’90s, after releasing their latest Disc 2.0, which charted the U.S. Billboard Hot 200 Chart. 

Still looking in top form, Timmons came-out and hugged a Fan he recognized from his Show last night, coming-out to support him again today.  Perfect for the Holidays, we took a Snap by Shaw Media‘s gorgeous Holiday Tree, just put-up this weekend.  Timmons et al. were of course amazingly nice, getting Billy in on the fun!

International Megastar Katy Perry descended upon Toronto late Saturday night for a day of Press in support of her number one-selling Disc, PRISM.  The Album, released mid-October, has gone on to earn Perry her highest Metacritic Score thus far and also is on-target to becoming her best-selling Disc to-date.

Making an intimate appearance at Little Italy‘s The Mod Club tonight after doing Press out of her Hotel most of the day, Perry chatted with eTalk‘s Tanya Kim before performing an array of new Material and some of her biggest Hits!

Longtime Mr. Will Reader Angela McLean, who sometimes  reports for The Magazine tells me, “The show was amazing. It was my first time seeing her live and she was so good. She sang all the fan faves and more. Can’t wait to see her when she comes back in 2014 for her Tour!”.

Fans who waited outside the Venue tell me Perry was super-generous to roll-down the window of her Escalade, signing Autographs and taking Photos with Fans in the cold.  Special thanks to Angela for the accompanying Photo!

The flame keeps burning this weekend at the Box Office as The Hunger Games: Catching Fire continues to show no mercy to its competition with an unbelievable $74.5 million in its second week of release.  Already, the November record-setting Blockbuster Sequel from Lionsgate Films/eOne Films has surpassed the $300-million mark and it also sets a new U.S. Thanksgiving five-day record with $110.2 million grossed between Thursday through Sunday, eclipsing the $85-million record set previously by 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Globally it has made over $573 million already.

Adding ice to the fire is a stellar debut from Disney‘s Frozen, which opens in second with $63.8 million from 3,742 theatres. The Animated-Feature voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel has garnered great reviews, tallying 86% on the Tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes and Audiences gave it an emphatic A+ CinemaScore.

Thor: The Dark World continues to go strong in its third week out with $15.5 million, a distant third for Disney.  The second Film in the Thor Franchise has just surpassed the $185-million mark domestically.

The Best Man Holiday continues to exceed expectations in fourth with $8.5 million. To date it has grossed $63 million in North America for Universal Pictures.

Homefront, an Action-Thriller based on the Novel by Chuck Logan  starring James Franco and Jason Statham, opens modestly in sixth with $6.9 million for VVS Films and Open Road Films.  Despite getting panned by Critics with a 35% rating on the Tomatometer, Audiences enjoyed it, giving it a B CinemaScore.

Black Nativity debuts in eighth surprisingly with $4 million for Fox Searchlight.  Critics gave it mixed reviews with 54% on the Tomatometer. Audiences gave the Film based on the off-Broadway Musical a much better A- CinemaScore.

Oscar Contender Philomena also pops-up in ninth with $3.8 million for The Weinstein Co./eOne Films.   Just in September, it received a Premiere at TIFF ’13. The fact-based Drama starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan about a Mother looking to find the Son whom she was forced to give-up for adoption, received an incredible 91% rating on the Tomatometer.

Four-week Veteran Last Vegas rounds-out the Top Ten with $3.6 million for CBS Films/eOne Films.

Never taunt death.  Just days after an Internet Hoax had surfaced surrounding his death, Fast and the Furious Franchise Star Paul Walker is confirmed dead after a freak accident.  Walker was killed after his new Porsche GT slammed into a post or a  tree in Santa Clarita (just north of Los Angeles) earlier this afternoon, resulting in a fiery explosion.  Roger Rodas, a Friend of Walker and also a former Race Car Driver, was in the Car at the time also was killed as first reported and confirmed by TMZ.

The news later was confirmed via his official Twitter account:

Walker made his Big Screen Debut in 1986’s Monster in the Closet but gained international success with his Breakout Role in 2001’s Fast and the Furious as  Police Officer Brian O’Conner opposite Vin Diesel.  He more recently starred in the sixth Film of the Franchise earlier this year, which went-on to gross $788 million worldwide at the Box Office.  He had just filmed Brick Mansions in Montreal, Quebec earlier this year also.

The Actor was only 40-years-old at the time of death.  We send our condolences to Walker‘s Friends and Family.  We hope that those who invest their energy creating cruel Internet Hoaxes gain a valuable lesson from this Tragedy.

Happy Thanksgiving America (and us over-indulgent Canadians)! Taking place tonight is a landmark Television Moment as international Pop Megastar Lady Gaga joins The Muppets on Television for a 90-minute Special, Lady Gaga & The Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular!

Also appearing on the Broadcast are the likes of Kristen Bell, Elton John, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and RuPaul! Eclectic. You can guarantee there will be drama between Miss Piggy and Gaga for Kermit‘s affections!  Surely some of that  tension might spill-over to next year’s The Muppets’ Most Wanted, in which Gaga appears briefly?

After raising over $3 million for the Toronto East General Hospital with Jerry Seinfeld, the Laughter is the Best Medicine Gala soon will be returning for a second time.  Returning as Master of Ceremonies is Will Arnett, who hosted the inaugural Event in April 2012.  More on that here.  The Hospital of course holds a dear place to Toronto’s Arnett. His Father, Jim Arnett, served on the Board of the Hospital from 2002 through 2009.

Headlining Laughter is the Best Medicine II is EMMY and GRAMMY Award-winning Actor/Comedian Chris Rock, who has the distinction of being called “The Funniest Person in America” by Entertainment Weekly. For Event details, click here.  The Gala takes place on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Allstream Centre on Canadian National Exhibition Grounds.

Proceeds from the Event will be going towards the establishment of the Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre which will provide greater access to critical inpatient and outpatient care for up to half a billion people in the GTA.

With its release only a week away, Britney Spears’ eighth Studio Disc BRITNEY JEAN promises to be the Pop Icon’s most personal Album to date. With a total ten Tracks, boasting Collaborations with the likes of will.i.am (The Black Eyed Peas), Sebastian Ingrossi (Swedish House Mafia), Sia, Katy Perry and Toronto’s Richard Vission, the Disc ventures emotionally into darker territory. Its sound ventures deeper into Electronica/House, with Spears continuously taking risks to stay ahead of the curve.

After piquing our interest with first Single Work Bitch, Followup Perfume was a bit of a Headscratcher, I admit. Don’t let that deter you though, It Should Be Easy (ft. will.i.am), Tik Tik Boom (ft. T.I.) and Body Ache positively are hot. Longtime Fans of Spears will miss some of her infectious melodies here with  focus placed on Mood, Rhythm and Production. Passenger gives us the slightest semblance of  Classic Spears, saved late on the Disc.  After much hype, we hear her Collaboration with her younger Sister,  Chillin’ With You (ft. Jamie Lynn Spears) which oddly is a hybrid mid-tempo Ballad-meets-Bangerz.  Although certainly no Blackout or In the Zone, which in my opinion are Spears at her best, there are a few moments here strong enough to satiate us Fans.
