With xXx: The Return of Xander Cage wrapping after beginning production here in February, it is a bit of a bittersweet goodbye. Although Vin Diesel wrapped a few weeks back, some of his Co-Stars including Mike Bisping, Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa and Bollywood Queen Deepika Padukone have been left to carry the weight of the Film on their own.
For the final night of shooting, York x Adelaide in Toronto’s Financial District was shut down as evening scenes were filmed. Padukone‘s fans were out in full effect with over 100+ of them showing up to support her. While she was in costume, telling Fans she’d greet them afterward, some just simply couldn’t wait! Padukone who plays the female lead Serena, was more than nice greeting as many fans as she could before leaving a little after midnight in her Suburban. She’s so lovely and was just as nice the first time we met her!
Other stars Tony Jaa, Donnie Yen, Mike Bisping and director D.J. Caruso also were kind to stop for Fans before wrapping!

Following the worldwide success of 2010’s Alice in Wonderland, fans patiently have waited for the followup to Tim Burton‘s stunning reimagination of the beloved series of Lewis Carroll stories. Toronto proudly hosts a Pop-Up shop celebrating ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS and beginning Saturday, fans will have a rare opportunity themselves to get the full Alice experience!
The Pop-Up exhibit is put together by famed Cakemaker Yolanda Gampp, recreating the Mad Hatter‘s (reprised in the Movie by Johnny Depp) Tea Party Table! Gampp will even be meeting fans this Saturday between 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM at the venue. The first 100 guests even get to try her cake!
We had the amazing opportunity to visit the exhibit and even got to try a slice of her famous chocolate cake. And it was divine! Gampp tells me her favourite is chocolate and it is her go-to still when inviting her friends over! There was a cake replica of the Madhatter‘s hat and we can say we got to taste its genius!

Formed in 2012, country music duo Dan + Shay are primed for the release of their second disc, Obsessed. The Nashville-based duo are in Toronto promoting the Disc with a series of TV and radio appearances. After playing at Gibson Guitar last night, they even took time to enjoy Justin Bieber at Air Canada Centre! I mean, they only happen to be managed by Scooter Braun!
Country Music fans will recognize the great potential duo, consisting of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, getting lots of airplay with their singles Nothin’ Like You and latest single From the Ground Up. In addition to their own rising fame, they have penned hits for the likes of giants Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts, hence if you enjoy the warm sounds of those acts, liking Dan and Shay should happen naturally.
We met the duo at their Morning Show appearance and they were amazing to stop for a Selfie through the studio window!

After a surprising announcement last November by Woodbine CEO Jim Lawson, we at long last get to see the fruits of both daring and precise planning. Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto today ran a first-of-its-kind EuroTurf Trial today before a sizable crowd of curious Horsepeople, Fans and Media mid-morning.
To those who don’t follow Horse Racing, thoroughbred races in North America traditionally are run counter-clockwise, unlike European, Australian and Asian racing. To change it up a bit and invigorate a bit of intrigue in the Sport of Kings, Woodbine this Summer will host a series of approximately 40 races on its lush E.P. Taylor turf course in the opposite direction. The first clockwise turf race as part of the EuroTurf series, is to take place Friday, June 10th.
After cautious maintenance over the winter, the turf course, among the top of its class in North America, is ready for racing with the season’s first official turf race (non-clockwise) carded for this Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
