We always knew Keira Knightley was funny! After premiering at TIFF ’14, LAGGIES is about to see its release and we love everything about its Trailer from one, KEIRA, to its themes of Adults coming-of-age (we adore 13-Going-on-30). The pairing of Knightley and a beyond-her-years Chloë Moretz is a perfect counterbalance. Lynn Shelton (Your Sister’s Sister. Safety Not Guaranteed) directs.
Official Synopsis:
Megan (Keira Knightley) is a 28-year-old woman stuck in a permanent state of adolescence. Unable to find her career calling, she is still hanging out with the same friends, and living with her high school boyfriend. When an unexpected marriage proposal sends her into a panic, she crosses paths with 16-year-old, Annika (Chloë Grace Moretz) and must finally learn to navigate her own future.

It is with great sadness that I’ve come to the realization TIFF ’14 is only a couple days away from its end. Going back into my normal routine once again surely will be especially hard because I had such an amazing Festival this year! I look forward to catching a couple more Movies this weekend now that the Parade of Stars are about to make an exit.
Today was a special day and I will remember this as the day that I met Ryan Reynolds. I’ve seen him many times but just simply never have been able to angle myself into contention to get a Snap with him. At last it happened today as I crossed paths with him while he was promoting his new Comedy, The Voices. The Film which sees him get into some trouble as he hears things from his Dog and his Cat, driving him to murder.
The Canadian-born Star looked particularly dappper in a blue suit tonight on the Red Carpet at Ryerson Theatre and was extremely generous with Fans taking time to sign as many Autographs and take as many Selfies as he could! No sign however of his Mrs., Blake Lively.
Earlier tonight, we also saw Patricia Clarkson and Scott Speedman on the Red Carpet for Winter Garden Theatre in support of their new Film, October Gale. The Film is about a Doctor who takes-in a wounded Man, only to discover that his Killer is out to complete the job.
Clarkson was absolutely amazing, stopping to sign some Autographs for Fans and I was lucky enough to get a Snap with the remarkable Actress.
Scott Speedman always looks sharp and tonight was an exception as the Toronto-born Actor graced the Red Carpet for October Gale also.
Although we didn’t get a chance to see him, our Contributor David Baldwin was thrilled to attend a Screening of Martin Scorcese‘s latest, The 50 Year Argument which he co-directs. Fan Reports are indicating that things got a little unruly outside the Theatre tonight hindering the Icon from signing more Autographs.
Tomorrow we’re expecting to see John Travolta, Chris Evans and Alice Eve, among others! We can’t wait. So check back!

It was amazing today finally getting a chance to enjoy a bit of rest and relaxation during the day before heading out to cover an Event I’m particularly proud to support. The second annual Birks Diamond Tribute to the Year’s Women in Film took place at Birks (Manulife Centre), drawing a large crowd of Onlookers and Fans in the dedicated Fanzone area, even with the onset of rain.
The Event honours Female Directors and Actors who have had an outstanding year at home and abroad, as selected by a Jury of Media and Entertainment Specialists. Recognized this year were as follows: Jennifer Baichwal; Ric Esther Bienstock; Marie-Hélène Cousineau and Madeline Piujuq Ivalu (co-directors of Uvanga); and Nancy Florence Savard, as well as Actors Anne Dorval; Tatiana Maslany; Sophie Nélisse; Molly Parker; and Cobie Smulders.
The Cocktail Reception saw the Recipients awarded on-stage and among them, Maslany who is riding a career high right now based on the success of internationally-acclaimed series Orphan Black not only garnering her a Critics Choice Award, but also a Golden Globe nomination. Just earlier this year, we witnessed her win a Canadian Screen Award also (more here).
Walking the Red Carpet this afternoon were a bevvy of Canadian Talent including Justin Kelly (Maps to the Stars), Shannon Kook (Empire of Dirt), Julia Sarah Stone (Wet Bum), Katie Boland (The Master), Katie Noland (Pawn Sacrifice), Sophie Desmarais (Sarah Prefers to Run), Ben Lewis & Lauren Collins (Zero Recognition), Eric Johnson (Smallville), Steven Lund (Bitten), Natalie Brown (The Strain), Warren Sonoda (Swearnet), Amanda Brugel (Sex After Kids), Peter Keleghan (Sex After Kids) and an expecting Erica Durance (Saving Hope), among many more.
See some of the Talent here:

In other news, we spotted the Academy Award-winning Actor Jean Dujardin, best known in these parts for his phenomenal performance in The Artist. The French Star is getting ready to premiere his new Film, Action-Thriller The Connection at TIFF ’14. He is every bit as amazing I imagined he’d be!
And on a separate note, we spotted Mike Tyson – not in town for TIFF ‘14 per say, but here to perform his One-Man Show MIKE TYSON: THE UNDISPUTED TRUTH at Air Canada Centre. He may have raised a few eye brows earlier with rampage on CP24 earlier today. More on that here.
Although the names certainly are fewer at this stage of the Festival, do expect a couple big names here tomorrow!
Be following here for up-to-the minute updates and sightings!

We’re officially at the halfway point of TIFF ’14 and we’re still kickin’ it with tons of Stars to snap around the City!

Our day began bright and early with an appearance on 99.9 VIRGIN RADIO where we chat about Channing Tatum and spotting Stars at TIFF!
Full Audio below:
Tonight’s marquee Gala was David Cronenberg‘s Cannes-acclaimed Film, MAPS TO THE STARS. Fans queued bright and early outside TIFF Bell Lightbox for a chance to see one of the Film’s Stars, Robert Pattinson of The Twilight Saga. Filmed in Toronto last Summer, the odd Story centers on a washed-up Actress (Julianne Moore) looking for a Career resurgence. See the Stars below, some of which headed over to the NKPR IT Lounge (enter to win a Prize Pack here!) afterward for some Photos with Caitlin Cronenberg‘s – Daughter of David – in her W Magazine Portrait Lounge.

Newcomer Evan Bird
Sarah Gadon
Olivia Williams
John Cusack
Robert Pattinson
THE IMITATION GAME
While walking on-foot, I also stumbled upon the Cast of The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Matthew Goode and Keira Knightley. The Film, getting tons of Oscar buzz, re-tells Mathematician Alan Turing‘s struggles in the WWII Era.
Benedict Cumberbatch
LEARNING TO DRIVE
Sir Ben Kingsley who was just in Toronto earlier this year filming LIFE, was spotted downtown today doing Press for his latest effort, Learning to Drive.
ESCOBAR: PARADISE LOST
Academy Award Winner Benicio Del Toro may be a genius Actor but had a bit of struggle understanding the concept of a Selfie! We spotted him arriving tonight, as he gets ready to premiere his latest Film, Escobar: Paradise Lost.
GOOD KILL
If anyone’s show longevity in Hollywood, it’s Academy Award Winner Ethan Hawke. Work has brought the Star to Toronto on multiple occasions in recent years and his latest, Good Kill premiered tonight at Ryerson Theatre. The Actor was partying at the Storys Building afterward.

It was yet another action-packed day at TIFF ‘14 with several Stars doing the rounds. Although it is no longer the crazy bustle of the weekend, there still is much left with many more Stars to see as we reach the half-way point of the Festival.
The Press Conference for Shawn Levy’s This is Where I Leave You consumed most of our morning, the Drama about a Family of Siblings who are forced to live under one roof again after the passing of their Father.
Tina Fey (This is Where I Leave You)
Abigail Spencer (The Forger, This is Where I Leave You)
Jane Fonda (This is Where I Leave You)
Throughout the day, we caught up with the Cast of The Keeping Room, an American Civil War-set Drama about Wives left behind to fend for themselves against Rogue Soldiers.
Brit Marling (The Keeping Room)
Hailee Steinfeld (The Keeping Room)
Sam Worthington (The Keeping Room and Cake)
We are on Cloud Nine today particularly after getting our own Photo Op with double Oscar-Contender Reese Witherspooon who gave her all for Fans today prior to attending her Press Conference for The Good Lie. She did back-t0-back Press Junkets and was just as lovely for her Fans at the Wild Conference.
Reese Witherspoon (Wild, The Good Lie)
Corey Stoll (This is Where I Leave You and The Good Lie)
Emmanuel Jal (The Good Lie)
Earlier this evening, we checked-out to the Red Carpet Premiere for Comedy Adult Beginners, about an Entrepreneur whose World crumbles after an accident, moving back-in with Family in the Suburbs.
Rose Byrne (Adult Beginners and This is Where I Leave You)
Bobby Cannavale (Adult Beginners)
Joel McHale (Adult Beginnners)
Nick Kroll (Adult Beginners)
Mark Duplass (Adult Beginners)
Although we’ve met the talented Jena Malone before, it still made us happy to see her out and about during the day, completing a Photo Shoot.
Foxcatcher already is primed for a loaded Awards Season Campaign Trail and many are claiming it could well win Best Picture early next year. Its Stars drew an ecstatic reaction earlier from Fans who lined the street for a sneak peek at its Stars.
Channing Tatum
Steve Carell
In case you missed it, we’re giving away a signed CHANNING TATUM Photo!

The excitement just doesn’t stop! TIFF ’14 DAY FOUR might have seen sparser numbers of Celebrities out and about, but it certainly wasn’t any shorter on that star quality.
We started off capturing Snaps at the Press Conference for Sony Pictures’ The Equalizer, based on the original TV Series and starring Denzel Washington, Chloë Moretz and Martin Csokas. After arriving fashionably late, Washington took the time to come out and throw waves and handshakes and posing in front of a long line of Fans.
Denzel Washington
Martin Csokas
Chloë Moretz
Director Antoine Fuqua, who also brought us Training Day!
We later ran into the outstanding Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson, who reunited last week for a special 30th Anniversary Edition Ghostbusters Screening in honour of Bill Murray Day.
Shortly after, we also spotted Salma Hayek again, in-town for Gibran Khalil’s The Prophet. Absolutely gorgeous!
And absolutely unexpected, we crossed paths with Steve Carell as he did Press for FOXCATCHER. Word is that he’s been a bit touchy with the Fan Photos and Autographs since arriving this weekend. But amazingly he was nice to pose for Photos after he finished his Press!
The Imitation Game might not be premiering till Tuesday, but it already is creating much buzz and its Stars were spotted out and about today. The Drama sees Benedict Cumberatch playing Mathematician Alan Turing in the WWII Era where Homosexuality was punishable by law. And guess who we saw from its Cast?
Matthew Goode
Alan Leech
We’ve long loved British Star Simon Pegg and having missed our chance to see him for Run Fatboy Run in 2007, finally we get a chance to see him here with the spirited Hector and the Search for Happiness this year.
Anna Kendrick‘s latest, The Last Five Years, adapted from the Musical of the same name is getting a great amount of buzz at TIFF ’14 and we are so happy to see her back again after an absence since 50/50 premiered here!
There is no denying that in my Catalogue of Photos with the Stars, this takes the cake! Bill Murray is loved and celebrated by many and hot on the heels of TIFF‘s recognition of him via its BILL MURRAY DAY last week, we finally get our own moment with him. We spotted the comedic Star doublefisting drinks… just the way it was meant to be!
All Photographs taken on the NIKON D3300 and communicated via the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Today will forever go down as the most explosive day of all time for TIFF! Stars were bursting at every seam after what was felt by the consensus as a a slow start to the Festival on Thursday. Parties were held all around the City and we made several successful Pit Stops around the City and got fueled by Starpower!
The day began with a Press Conference for Jason Reitman‘s new Film about sexual frustrations, Men, Women & Children and although normally Fans get a chance to see and interact with the Cast, it would be the running-behind-schedule which hindered the experience. We still managed to see the following:
Jennifer Garner
Jason Reitman
Kaitlyn Dever
Adam Sandler
Ansel Elgort/Kaitlyn Dever
We also got a little surprise from Australian Actor Alex Russell, whom we met filming CARRIE here a couple years back! The Actor stars in CUT SNAKE at TIFF ’14! He remembers us!
We love Paul Bettany and were ecstatic about meeting him as he went about his Press Day for self-directed Shelter, which premieres at TIFF ’14.
Not too far long after, we made our way over to the official Audi-sponsored Party for Oscar Contender, PRIDE over at Hotspot The Citizen. All I have to say is Truffle Poutine. Delish. The light-hearted Dramedy documents the true struggle of a Gay Activist Group in England, supporting Miners in need. The only thing however, is that the striking Miners didn’t want to be associated with the Group. The Film won a two-minute Standing Ovation from its Audience yesterday afternoon. See some Snaps of the talented Cast:
Bill Nighy
Ben Schnetzer & Jessie Cave
Dominic West
Andrew Scott
The Cast and Team behind PRIDE
We thought we’d re-visit the Cast of Paramount Pictures‘ Men, Women & Children once more at the official Party for the Film at new It-Spot, Montecito which happens also to be owned be legendary Filmmaker Ivan Reitman, Father of Director Jason. Fans and Cameras lined the Carpet in eager anticipation as the Stars paraded by one-by-one including a few surprises! I was so happy to see our Friend Ansel Elgort, whom we met here in the City a couple years back when he was filming CARRIE. He noticed us right away at the Carpet proclaiming, “I’ve got to get a Selfie with Mr. Will!”. We’re incredibly proud how well he’s done and also what’s next to come for the Divergent and The Fault in our Stars Talent, who clearly has been propelled into Mega-stardom from the ecstatic screams I heard from Fans everywhere he went today.
Jennifer Garner
Rosemarie DeWitt
Ansel Elgort
Eugene Levy
Adam Sandler
An annual favourite Fixture of ours at TIFF is the InStyle Magazine Party, which shuts down a strip of Yorkville for a night and the amount of Starpower seen here was s t a g g e r i n g. We admit it was a bit of on the decline mostly due to unfortunate timing later in the Festival after an abundance of Stars leave town, but was it ever a night to remember for the Fans! We’re talking Megawatts!
Chris Evans (Before We Go)
Robert Downey Jr. (The Judge)
Noomi Rapace (The Drop)
Missy Peregrym dressed in Intermix (Backcountry)
Sarah Rafferty
Paul Dano (Love & Mercy)
Madeleine Stowe
Miles Teller (Whiplash)
Lacey Chabert (aka GRETCHEN WIENERS!!!)
Mark Ruffalo (Infinitely Polar Bear, Foxcatcher)
Jessica Chastain (Miss Julie)
Timothy Spall (Mr. Turner)
Ben Stiller (While We’re Young)
Jake Abel (Good Kill)
J.K. Simmons (Whiplash)
Abigail Spencer (This is Where I Leave You and The Forger)
Chloë Moretz (Laggies, Clouds of Sils Maria and The Equalizer)
Rick Hoffman
Nicola Peltz
Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything)
Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game)
Kevin Costner (Black & White)
Will Peltz (Men, Women & Children)
Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything)
Salma Hayek (Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet)
We spotted Channing Tatum, Jon Stewart and many, many more there also!!
Okay, we admit it. We were on a high and kept going right after till 5 AM (!!!) when we also spotted several other Stars out and about! Look!
Anna Kendrick (The Last Five Years)
Douglas Booth (The Riot Club)
Rosario Dawson (Top Five)
Cedric the Entertainer (Top Five)
Jay Pharoah (Top Five)
We ain’t done. Wait till you see what we have in store next, Willionaire$!

Day 2 of TIFF ’14 certainly was not short on the Starpower, however it would be the torrential downpour of rain and a Thundershower early evening which would curtail what I anticipated would be a long night. That being said, I am going to rest-up and be up and at ’em early with a proper night of rest!
The Day began with the Press Conference for David Dobkin‘s THE JUDGE, starring Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall, Vera Farmiga, Dax Shepard and more! Downey drew a vast majority of the Crowd today and certainly tried rewarding them all with some Autographs, zipping along in circular fashion before heading into his Photo Call.
See the Snaps below!
Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Duvall, who also was celebrated at an In-Conversation-With at TIFF Bell Lightbox
Vera Farmiga
Dax Shepard – he had to school me on how to use my Samsung S5!
David Dobkin
With few expectations in mind, we crossed paths today with many Stars out and about! Check-out some of these familiar faces!
Rene Russo at TIFF ’14 for Nightcrawler in which she stars opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, looks absolutely stunning and is amazingly sweet in-person I’m pleased to say!
I’ve long been touting British Star Felicity Jones as one to look out for. The Actress appears in much-buzzed The Theory of Everything opposite Eddie Redmayne, and despite checking-in quickly at her Hotel, she still came out to say “hello” to everyone after. She also was here a couple years back with Like Crazy and Hysteria. We kinda match, no?
Although we’re unsure which Film she’s at TIFF ’14 for, Orange is the New Black Star Alysia Reiner surprised us all today and in all honesty she looked a little surprised how excited Fans were to see her!
Not a Woman of many words, Director Lone Scherfig was shocked to be recognized today. I loved her 2010 Film An Education starring Carey Mulligan, which also premiered at TIFF, and am eagerly awaiting her latest, The Riot Club, which debuts this weekend at TIFF ’14!
Funnyman Eddie Izzard certainly is no stranger to Toronto, having brought his Shows here on multiple occasions and also filming Hannibal in the City. He is at TIFF ’14 with Dustin Hoffman-starring Boychoir.
I admit it! I’m still a bit of a Gleek at heart! Was absolutely surprised to see Kevin McHale, who plays Artie on the Series, out and about today. He also stars in Boychoir alongside Izzard.
I adore Rafe Spall, the talented British Actor known best for his work in Films like The F Word and The Life of Pi. I lucked-out totally seeing him at Ryerson Theatre tonight for the Premiere of X+Y which saw its Red Carpet go on despite heavy rains.
Young Hollywood is filled with promising Stars, but Asa Butterfield certainly would be at the top of his class. Starring in critical and Box Office successes Ender’s Game and also Martin Scorcese‘s Hugo, the 17-year-old Brit is at TIFF ’14 with X+Y which seems him starring as a socially-awkward young Math Prodegy.
Tomorrow the excitement reaches a peak as we expect to see the likes of Jennifer Garner, Tina Fey, Bill Murray, Ansel Elgort and several, several more! Stay tuned.
