If this doesn’t fill your heart with hope and love this Valentine’s Day, I don’t know what will! Disney’s Paperman recently was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film. Directed and voiced by John Kars, this romantic Tale is set in New York City during the ’40s and follows a chance meeting of a Man and Woman brought together by a flying piece of paper.

Everyone’s doing the Harlem Shake, an Internet Meme which has taken the World by storm February 2013. What is the Harlem Shake you ask? Hot on the heels of Gangnam Style, it is the latest dance craze seen in viral Video Clips which are set to 30 seconds of the Track of the same name by Brooklyn-based Electronic Music Artist, Bauuer. The Videos start off with one person dancing, while all others around are oblivious to it. As soon as the Bass Line starts, we are put into sensory overload with others joining-in doing repeated (sometimes lewd) dance motions. Amazing.
YouTube Users DizastaMusic and The Sunny Skate (a Longboarding Crew from Australia) were among the first to start the craze, causing People to strip down to their undies shamelessly before the Camera!
See some of my favourite Harlem Shake Videos to surface so far, although I must say, hands-down the Maker Studios one is my favourite – rather sleek, wouldn’t you say?
..even George Stromboulopoulos had to join-in on the fun!
“We’ve become literally like Brothers”.

From MuchMusic to the Big Time! Many of us remember Hannah Simone from her days as a VJ on Canada’s Music Television Station, but the Host-turned-Actress now stars on FOX‘s Hit Series The New Girl as Cece Meyers, the gorgeous love interest of Max Greenfield‘s Schmidt. The Role of Cece garnered Simone a Teen Choice Award last year for Choice TV Breakout Star – Female. Although the on-screen Couple affectionately known by Fans as “Schmece” currently are not together, Schmidt definitely still is trying to win Cece‘s affections currently in the second season of the Series.
Simone in addition to being back in Toronto from Los Angeles, is here to talk about New Girl and also Gillette’s Kiss and Tell Social Experiment, spawned from a Survey that showed 39% of Women would kiss more often if a Guy were clean-shaven. She will be appearing at Eaton Centre at 11:00 AM as part of the Festivities, timed perfectly for Valentine’s Day.
In addition to appearing bright and early on KISS 92.5‘s Roz & Mocha Show, Simone looked stunning with her signature bangs, to talk about her appearance later today for the Men’s Grooming Brand. Right after, she head over to City, appearing on multiple feeds of Breakfast Television across the Country.
I caught-up with Simone quickly, although her Handler was quick to decline a Photo Op, being in a rush. Fortunately Simone was amazing as expected, making an exception, visibly not being okay turning a Fan down. “Let’s take a Photo, but it’s gotta be quick as I don’t want to get in trouble!”, she tells me. It’s always great to see one of our own gain success abroad, but even better when you see they still are humble about it!

New Girl airs Tuesday nights at 8:30 PM EST on City.

Acclaimed Music Video Director Sophie Muller‘s (Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé, Shakira) first Video of 2013 happens to be the second Single Stay, from Rihanna‘s latest Disc, Unapologetic. The Track, which Rihanna performed last night at the 55th annual GRAMMY Awards also features the Vocals of hotly-tipped Newcomer Mikky Ekko whom duetted with her last night.
Perhaps it was Label issues or perhaps it was just an awkward fit to have relatively unknown Ekko appear in the Video, but all we see here is a ponderous Rihanna in a bathtub – a couple close calls with the coverage – in all likelihood thinking about Chris Brown.
Watch the Video in full below:
Nashville-based Singer/Songwriter Mikky Ekko is on the verge of something huge and if he looks rather familiar, that would be beacuse he’s featured on Rihanna‘s latest Single, Stay. Ekko, whose birthname is John Sudduth, was introduced to the World last night, duetting with the Barbadian-born Pop Princess at the 55th annual GRAMMY Awards. That Track currently sits at number 58 on the Canadian Hot 100 and you can expect that to improve.
Ekko, just released the Video for his latest Single, Pull Me Down, a beautiful slow-burning Ballad which is at once will appeal to Fans of Gavin DeGraw and Gotye. Insiders already are tipping him as perhaps 2013’s greatest Breakthrough Act and we just may see him next year in-the-running for Best New Artist.

Okay, now I real excited of Justin Timberlake‘s new Album, The 20/20 Experience. Fresh off his amazing Grammys performance tonight comes JT‘s newly-leaked Single Mirrors. I enjoyed Suit & Tie, but this is just outstanding. Melancholic, the Timbaland-produced Track is equal parts Rock as it is Urban and all-parts Pop. The Melody has what it takes for the Track the be the Mainstream Hit that Suit & Tie could’ve been, but the 8:00 minute-length here is a bit of a tricky thing to navigate, especially for Airplay reasons. Production-wise, Timbaland‘s rhythmic sensibilities remind us that this still is JT singing, although in a new incarnation.
Jessica Biel must’ve melted at these Lyrics which clearly are directed to her: “It was easy coming back to you/Once I figured it out /You were right here all along/It’s like you’re my Mirror”, perhaps eluding to a rough patch during early 2011, before reuniting and eventually marrying last October.
Listen to the Track in full below:
