Jaden Smith already is an accomplished talent at age 18 having a high-profile résumé that includes starring roles in The Pursuit of Happyness, The Karate Kid (2010) and more recently Netflix‘s The Get Down from Baz Luhrmann. The son of Hollywood royalty Will (in-town too!) and Jada Pinkett, he appears ready now for his own close-up in a big way.
In town filming the bittersweet Drama Life in a Year till late May, the Film stars also supermodel Cara Delevingne. The Film centers on a teenager who learns that his girlfriend has only a year to live, making it a mission to give her a lifetime worth of memories in that time. Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr., whose father soul singer Cuba Gooding Sr. sadly passed away just yesterday, also stars and was on-set today. Exterior scenes were filmed along the Humber River.
Smith was just at Coachella last weekend sporting his new cropped do for his role and he put out a call on Twitter to Toronto Filmmakers to get their help directing an upcoming music video he has planned; he also raps. He was seen later in the evening at the I Heart Radio Fest as part of Canadian Music Week, supporting his buddy Big Sean.
While filming a jogging scene, the low-key Smith had a quick minute to stop for fan photos. He even helped navigate me through a puddle to get over to him!

Jessica Alba, Lady Gaga (her acting debut!), Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Antonio Banderas, Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Charlie Sheen also star and of course Danny Trejo returns.

One Man, eight Presidents. The Butler tells the True Story of Cecil Gains (played by both Aml Ameen, Forest Whitaker), who served eight Presidents between 1952 and 1986, having a front-row seat as political and racial History was made in the United States. The Film marks Oprah Winfrey‘s big return to the Big Screen, playing the pivotal role of Gloria Gaines, his Wife.
Lee Daniels (Precious, The Paperboy) features an All-Star Cast including Liev Schreiber, Robin Williams, Mariah Carey, David Oyelowo, Alex Pettyfer, Alan Rickman, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., John Cusack, Melissa Leo, Lenny Kravitz, Minka Kelly, James Marsden and several more.
Seen widely as a Contender at the Oscars, the The Weinstein Co. Film originally was to get an October release, but gets pushed-back to August 16, 2013, meaning no TIFF Premiere unfortunately!

Just landed in New York City earlier today and what a night it’s been! And the Met Gala festivities haven’t even begun! I stumbled upon an Advance Screening for The Great Gatsby, held at the Museum of Modern Art and after sticking around for a bit, the Stars just poured out of the Venue unlike anything I’ve ever seen!
A merging of Fashion and Film Worlds collided tonight including the likes of: Vera Wang, Emma Roberts, Michael Shannon, Cuba Gooding Jr., Ezra Miller, Kylie Minogue, Aubrey Plaza, David Schwimmer, Dane DeHaan, Anna Wood, John Leguizamo, Meg Hilty, Piper Perabo, Oliver Stone, Katy Perry, Solange Knowles and of course Star Carey Mulligan. Unreal.
Stay tuned for more Stars as I capture Stars of the Met Gala tomorrow night. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
