In an outrageous send up of the Paranormal Activity Movies, The Devil Inside and other “found footage” Movies, A HAUNTED HOUSE features young Couple Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) and Kisha (Essence Atkins) who have just moved into their dream house. As they settle in, they quickly find they’re not alone. But it’s not the house that’s haunted; it’s Malcolm‘s Girlfriend who is possessed by a Demon. Malcolm hires everyone from a priest to modern day Ghostbusters to rid her of this unwelcome intruder, determined not to let the evil spirit ruin his relationship… or, more importantly, his sex life.

Although they formed six years ago, Twin Sister Duo Heathers finally are getting their big break, starting with Canada first in their North American debut. 22-year-olds Ellie and Louise Macnamara hail from Dublin, Ireland. Although their Folk-Rock influences range from Bruce Springsteen to Simon & Garfunkel, they are avid Pop Fans through and through. “We listen to a lot of Pop like Katy Perry“, Ellie tells me. “We love Katy Perry and everything to Santigold and even Nicki Minaj.”. They’d even go as far as to describe their new sound as being “dancey”.
As part of their Promotion today in support of brand new Disc Kingdom, select Media got to tour Toronto with Heathers on a Sightseeing Trolley Tour around the City where even longtime Torontonians like me learned some interesting facts about our City. For example, I had no clue the CN Tower is built on man-made land. For real!
Although the Sisters have been here for a couple days, they admit to loving Toronto and with their schedule filled with work, work, work, tomorrow they will be taking some time out to peruse the Fashions of Queen Street. “We did check-out Eaton Centre and enjoyed some Frozen Yogurt!”, although sadly they not get much shopping done.
In the meantime, enjoy their fantastic new Single Forget Me Knots:
It’s alright not to feel okay, indeed. Who can relate?

An Instagram account is to come soon. They promised! In the meantime, follow them on Twitter here.

Rock Icon Stevie Nicks descended upon Toronto in support of her new Documentary In Your Dreams, her latest Solo Disc, produced by Dave Stewart (Eurythmics). Clocking in at over two-and-a-half hours, the Film takes us into Nicks‘ home, giving us insight into her creative process and challenges.
Nicks walked the Red Carpet at the Venue tonight, interviewing with a few select Outlets, before being met with warm reception as Vinyl Sleeves for her Rumours Album with Fleetwood Mac were thrust her way. Only few were lucky enough to secure a Personalization, while several came away empty-handed.
Some were surprised to see our v. own Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy) attending the Event and he was super-nice to stop for a quick Snap, telling me, “I love Stevie Nicks!” as he glanced over at her in awe on the Red Carpet.

After surprising us by filming for a role on Global Television‘s Bomb Girls recently, Daytime Television Icon and multiple EMMY Award Winner Rosie O’Donnell was in Toronto to do good for an important cause. In support of PFLAG (Parents, Family, Friends of Lesbians and Gays), a Gala was held tonight at Mirvish Theatre with proceeds going towards Programs including a 24/7 Telephone Support Line, monthly Support Meetings for those who are LGBTQ, their Families and Friends, and Presentations in Schools, Universities and Businesses to promote Diversity.
Honoured tonight with an Ally Award was O’Donnell‘s dear Friend, Actress Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey, Queer as Folk). In past years, the Actress has voiced her support for the LGBTQ Community and the Award is designated to someone who identifies him/herself as being Heterosexual and in support of Gay Rights and Equality. Gless stars currently in TV Series, Burn Notice.
I caught-up with both O’Donnell and Gless who were amazing enough to stop for a quick Snap before heading off to a celebratory Dinner. Both were in great spirits and had every right to be as they are both supporting something amazing!

Already a star-studded day in Toronto, Canadian-born Crooner Paul Anka was out and about today cross-promoting his Memoir My Way and latest Disc Classic Songs, My Way. He may 71-years-of-age, but he’s definitely still got the energy, aggressively in promotion mode doing an entire day of Press which saw him on Global Television‘s The Morning Show (National Edition) and at CBC for most of the afternoon for tapings including Q Radio and George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.
The former Teen Icon and overall brilliant Singer/Songwriter is known best for his own Hits Lonely Boy and My Home Town, but has also penned some Classics in the American Songbook including Frank Sinatra‘s My Way and Tom Jones’ She’s a Lady.
The support was overwhelming for Anka as he exited the CBC Building today swarmed by Autograph Seekers and starstruck Passersby. Being the example of grace he is, none were left disappointed as she signed his signature generously despite the intense vibe.

“In order to fight Monsters, we had to create Monsters of our own.”.
The Countdown is on to the release of Pacific Rim and Warner Bros. India was first to reveal this brand new TV Spot for one of this Summer’s most eagerly-awaited Blockbusters, from Director Guillermo del Toro! Although brief, there’s tons of destruction and guaranteed Idris Elba‘s line “Today we are cancelling the Apocalypse!” will become so iconic it shall be repeated ad nauseum and (hopefully!) parodied.

It’s hard to believe that in about a month’s time Baz Luhrmann‘s long-awaited The Great Gatsby 3-D finally will hit theatres! Carey Mulligan who stars as Daisy Buchanan in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Adaptation graces the cover of Vogue in May and delves right into her experience on the Film with Tom Shone, with Photographs by none other than Mario Testino. We learn all about the moment she received news of being cast while at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards.
Excerpt below:
“‘I was trying to be cool, but oh, it was horrible,’ remembers Mulligan, who had been on tenterhooks for weeks. ‘It was terrifying, the suspense. I was winding down on shooting Drive, so I wasn’t working that much, just waiting around for the phone to ring and for me to be disappointed.’ After Mulligan left the stage, Catherine Martin handed her a cell phone, saying, ‘Somebody wants to speak to you.’ The next thing she heard was Luhrmann’s warm Australian drawl: ‘Hullo, Daisy. . . .‘
Before he could even get to Buchanan, Mulligan was sobbing into her napkin. ‘Sobbing,’ she recalls. ‘Everybody was like, What is wrong with her?’.”.
We learn also Mulligan despite appearing demure and sweet, actually has quite a wild side!

The Avengers won top honours tonight at 2013 MTV Movie Awards held at Los Angeles’ Sony Pictures Studios, nabbing coveted Movie of the Year, in addition to Best Fight and Best Villain with British Actor Tom Hiddleston. The Blockbuster uniting various Marvel Superheroes, grossing over $1.5 billion worldwide has a Sequel on the way, scheduled for May 1, 2015.
Silver Linings Playbook not only won Jennifer Lawrence her first Oscar, but she always was awarded Best Actress as was her Co-Star Bradley Cooper, who earned Best Actor. Both currently are reuniting with Director David O. Russell on his latest as-yet-untitled Film, along with Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner with production taking place in Boston.
Although a Sequel is still in the works, the Cast of Sleeper Hit Pitch Perfect reunited on-stage at the beginning of the Show tonight, eventually going on to win Best Musical Moment. Star Rebel Wilson filled hosting duties tonight and dared to shock with some controversially over-the-top outfits including a double-nipple number.
In an odd turn of events, Funnywoman Aubrey Plaza crashed Will Ferrell‘s Acceptance Speech, wrestling his Comedic Genius Award out of his hand. It was learned that she later was ejected from the Venue for her behaviour, although it is said she purely behaved so as a Publicity Stunt for her upcoming Film The To-Do List. Point taken.
Fan Favourite The Twilight Saga of course didn’t walk away empty despite the Franchise having ended. Its Star Taylor Lautner was awarded Best Shirtless Scene.
