I loved JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS growing-up in the ’80s. The Animated Series which followed the adventures of a Glam-Girl Rock Band not only was fashion-forward, but also ahead of its time in its message of empowerment for young Girls and the Music also was amazing! A new Trailer for the Live Action Film Adaptation of the Series and although we don’t think it quite nails the essence of the Series, we still are curious to see it! Where are rivals, The Misfits?!?!

Official Synopsis:
A teenage orphan, Jerrica Benton (Aubrey Peeples), and her friends become an online recording sensation named Jem and the Holograms. She and her friends set out on a music-driven scavenger hunt across Los Angeles to find a final message left by her father.

The name Carla Gugino might have an odd familiarity to it,  but it’s only when you see her face that you recognize the impeccable body of work the Florida-born Actress has built.  Not only did she have a recurring role in HBO‘s Entourage (coincidentally her Co-Star Adrian Grenier also is in the City) but also Blockbusters like the Spy Kids Trilogy, American Gangster, Watchmen and Night at the Museum.

Although it isn’t out for another couple weeks, Gugino is in Toronto promoting SAN ANDREAS, a new Action-Disaster Flick in which she stars opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.  The Movie centers around a Rescue Pilot (Johnson) and his Ex-Wife (Gugino) who head to San Francisco to find their Daughter (Alexandra Daddario) after a devastating Earthquake hits Los Angeles.

Gorgeous Gugino was kind to stop amidst her busy Press Day at Breakfast Television, snapping Photos and signing Autographs for Fans. She loved little Billy, giving him a bit of extra love!

Although filming is just getting under way in Italy, this is our first glimpse at INFERNO, the latest adaptation of Dan Brown‘s massively-successful Franchise which began with The Da Vinci Code.  Tom Hanks reprises his Role as Robert Langdon and Felicity Jones makes her bow in this Installment as Dr. Sienna Brooks, while Ron Howard directs.

When his mother finds out that Rachel (Olivia Cooke), one of his classmates, has leukemia, she forces him to spend time with her. They slowly develop a friendship of sorts and he lets her watch the movies he and his best friend Earl (Ronald Cyler II) have made.

Filming is kicking into high gear for David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad, taking place much overnight of late. The Mega Blockbuster starring an A-List Cast as some of DC Comics‘ most beloved Supervillains shut down part of Financial District last night and among those on-Set were the likes of Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Scott Eastwood, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez and more.

We spotted Robbie in full costume, dressed as Harley Quinn and Smith also as Deadshot, as they head off to work for the night. Hernandez‘s El Diablo also was seen in full skull makeup through the window his van, waving to Fans.  Although Plot details are under tight wraps, a Child actress was seen heading to set, hence some are speculating filming may have involved some type of a flashback for Robbie‘s Quinn.

Smith, Robbie and Eastwood were more than generous to stop for Fans in the wee hours of the morning post-wrap before heading to rest before another night shoot ahead.  Filming moves north to the Yorkville area the next few days.

Brace yourselves for Michelle Treacy. The Ottawa-born Singer/Songwriter first came to our attention when Lady Gaga brought her on-stage to perform Born This Way on the Montreal leg of her ArtRave Tour last year. Several took notice of her daring fashion sense and natural charisma. After some gigs south of the Border including the very Bar which Lady Gaga once gigged at, The Bitter End, she soon would find herself signed to Sony Music Canada, with worldwide distribution, signing the papers recently at their North York office.

Many will note Treacy is taking a similar approach to that of Lady Gaga in building her foundation and we caught-up with her after a one-song surprise performance at storied Crews & Tangos in Toronto’s Village. She was amazingly nice to stop for a chat afterwards.  She tells us her debut Album is nearing completion with a debut Single and additional surprises to come shortly.  Treacy was spotted with her BFF, Designer Adrian Wu, both dressed in style. Treacy while in Toronto is known to frequent local Gay Bars and hotspots like Soho House. She was a little famished after some intense dancing tonight and was spotted at Hero Certified Burgers at Church x Wellesley after her gig.
