Review by Amanda Gilmore for Mr. Will Wong
The Miseducation of Cameron Post is set in 1993 and follows Cameron (Chloë Grace Moretz) who is caught on prom night in the back seat of a car kissing another girl. When her legal guardians find out they send her to a gay conversion therapy camp.
The Film is a beautiful Coming-of-Age story set in an ugly world. Writer-Director Desiree Akhavan crafts a heartbreaking and heartwarming story of accepting who you are no matter the odds stacked against you. What’s refreshing about the story is that is never shies away from the cruelty these teenagers face at the camp.
The Ensemble is outstanding. Moretz has given one of her best performances as Cameron. And Sasha Lane who plays the self-assured Jane is enthralling. There are other great performances from Jennifer Ehle as the shockingly horrible leader of the conversion camp and John Gallagher Jr. as the lost Reverend.
The Miseducation of Cameron Post screens at Sundance on Jan. 22 at 12:15PM at Eccles PC, Jan. 23 at 6:30PM at Redstone 1 PC, Jan. 25 at 2:30PM at The MARC PC, Jan. 26 at 3PM at PC Library, and Jan. 27 at 3:15PM at The Grand SLC.
It’s day four of the Sundance Film Festival and we are in full flight!
There were many Premieres once again tonight in Park City. I Think We’re Alone Now takes place during an apocalypse where a recluse feels the threat of companionship when finding out there is a second survivor. It stars Peter Dinklage and Elle Fanning. BLAZE is the reimagining of the life of Blaze Foley who was the unsung songwriting legend of the Texas Outlaw Music Movement. It is written and directed by Ethan Hawke and stars recent Golden Globe winner Sam Rockwell, Edgar Arreola and Alia Shawkat. Come Sunday follows pastor Carlton Pearson during a crisis in faith where he risks everything when he questions the Church Doctrine, it is based on true events. It stars Chiwetel Ejifor, Jason Segel and Danny Glover. The Happy Prince is set during Oscar Wilde’s final days. It is starring, written and directed by a long-absent Rupert Everett and stars Colin Firth and Emily Watson. The Miseducation of Cameron Post takes place in 1993 and follows a girl who is sent to a Conversion Therapy Centre when she is caught kissing another girl. It stars ChloĂ« Grace Moretz and Sasha Lane. And Piercing which is a twisted love story about a married man who goes away on a business trip with the intent of murdering a prostitute, who also has plans of her own. It stars Christopher Abbot and Mia Wasikowska.
Down on Main Street in Park City, there were tons of stars out getting lunch, attending parties and press stops. Some of the stars spotted out on the street were Joan Jett, Idris Elba, Debra Messing, John Cho, Joel McHale, Chloë Grace Mortez and more. It was also a special day for Bill Skarsgård (It), who is at the Festival with Assassination Nation, he received the IMDb StarMeter Award.
This wraps-up the first weekend of the Festival. But there is still an entire week ahead with more stars coming into Park City and plenty more Films to be screened.

We LOLed so hard at NEIGHBORS and you better believe we’re ready for NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING! Universal Pictures Canada + Mr. Will want to give Readers in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Edmonton a chance to see it first on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
Synopsis:
Returning stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne are joined by Chloë Grace Moretz for NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING, the follow-up to 2014’s most popular original comedy. Nicholas Stoller again directs in a film that follows what happens when the will of parenthood goes against the bonds of sisterhood.
Now that Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) have a second baby on the way, they are ready to make the final move into adulthood: the suburbs. But just as they thought they’d reclaimed the neighborhood and were safe to sell, they learn that the new occupants next door are a sorority even more out of control than Teddy (Zac Efron) and his brothers ever dreamed of being.
Tired of their school’s sexist, restrictive system, the unorthodox ladies of Kappa Nu have decided to start a house where they can do whatever the hell they want. When Shelby (Moretz) and her sisters, Beth (Kiersey Clemons) and Nora (Beanie Feldstein), find the perfect place just off campus, they won’t let the fact that it’s located on a quiet street stand in their way of parties as epic as the guys throw.
Forced to turn to the one ex-neighbor with the skills to bring down the new Greeks next door, the Radners—alongside best friends Jimmy (Ike Barinholtz) and Paula (Carla Gallo)—bring in charismatic Teddy as their secret weapon. If he can infiltrate the sorority and charm his way through it, the thirtysomethings will shutter the Kappas’ home. But if they think that their neighbors are going down without a fight, they have severely underestimated the power of youthful ingenuity and straight-up crazy.

We always knew Keira Knightley was funny! After premiering at TIFF ’14, LAGGIES is about to see its release and we love everything about its Trailer from one, KEIRA, to its themes of Adults coming-of-age (we adore 13-Going-on-30). The pairing of Knightley and a beyond-her-years ChloĂ« Moretz is a perfect counterbalance.  Lynn Shelton (Your Sister’s Sister. Safety Not Guaranteed) directs.
Official Synopsis:
Megan (Keira Knightley) is a 28-year-old woman stuck in a permanent state of adolescence. Unable to find her career calling, she is still hanging out with the same friends, and living with her high school boyfriend. When an unexpected marriage proposal sends her into a panic, she crosses paths with 16-year-old, Annika (Chloë Grace Moretz) and must finally learn to navigate her own future.

The excitement just doesn’t stop! Â TIFF ’14 DAY FOUR might have seen sparser numbers of Celebrities out and about, but it certainly wasn’t any shorter on that star quality.
We started off capturing Snaps at the Press Conference for Sony Pictures’ The Equalizer, based on the original TV Series and starring Denzel Washington, ChloĂ« Moretz and Martin Csokas.  After arriving  fashionably late, Washington took the time to come out and throw waves and handshakes and posing in front of a long line of Fans.
Denzel Washington
Martin Csokas
Chloë Moretz
Director Antoine Fuqua, who also brought us Training Day!
We later ran into the outstanding Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson, who reunited last week for a special 30th Anniversary Edition Ghostbusters Screening in honour of Bill Murray Day.
Shortly after, we also spotted Salma Hayek again, in-town for Gibran Khalil’s The Prophet. Absolutely gorgeous!
And absolutely unexpected, we crossed paths with Steve Carell as he did Press for FOXCATCHER. Â Word is that he’s been a bit touchy with the Fan Photos and Autographs since arriving this weekend. Â But amazingly he was nice to pose for Photos after he finished his Press!
The Imitation Game might not be premiering till Tuesday, but it already is creating much buzz and its Stars were spotted out and about today. The Drama sees Benedict Cumberatch playing Mathematician Alan Turing in the WWII Era where Homosexuality was punishable by law. And guess who we saw from its Cast?
Matthew Goode
Alan Leech
We’ve long loved British Star Simon Pegg and having missed our chance to see him for Run Fatboy Run in 2007, finally we get a chance to see him here with the spirited Hector and the Search for Happiness this year.
Anna Kendrick‘s latest, The Last Five Years, adapted from the Musical of the same name is getting a great amount of buzz at TIFF ’14 and we are so happy to see her back again after an absence since 50/50 premiered here!
There is no denying that in my Catalogue of Photos with the Stars, this takes the cake! Bill Murray is loved and celebrated by many and hot on the heels of TIFF‘s recognition of him via its BILL MURRAY DAY last week, we finally get our own moment with him. We spotted the comedic Star doublefisting drinks… just the way it was meant to be!
All Photographs taken on the NIKON D3300 and communicated via the Samsung Galaxy S5.
We’re almost half way there, Willionaire$!

Today will forever go down as the most explosive day of all time for TIFF! Stars were bursting at every seam after what was felt by the consensus as a a slow start to the Festival on Thursday. Parties were held all around the City and we made several successful Pit Stops around the City and got fueled by Starpower!
The day began with a Press Conference for Jason Reitman‘s new Film about  sexual frustrations, Men, Women & Children and although normally Fans get a chance to see and interact with the Cast, it would be the running-behind-schedule which hindered the experience. We still managed to see the following:
Jennifer Garner
Jason Reitman
Kaitlyn Dever
Adam Sandler
Ansel Elgort/Kaitlyn Dever
We also got a little surprise from Australian Actor Alex Russell, whom we met filming CARRIE here a couple years back! The Actor stars in CUT SNAKE at TIFF ’14! Â He remembers us!
We love Paul Bettany and were ecstatic about meeting him as he went about his Press Day for self-directed Shelter, which premieres at TIFF ’14.
Not too far long after, we made our way over to the official Audi-sponsored Party for Oscar Contender, PRIDE over at Hotspot The Citizen. Â All I have to say is Truffle Poutine. Â Delish. The light-hearted Dramedy documents the true struggle of a Gay Activist Group in England, supporting Miners in need. The only thing however, is that the striking Miners didn’t want to be associated with the Group. The Film won a two-minute Standing Ovation from its Audience yesterday afternoon. See some Snaps of the talented Cast:
Bill Nighy
Ben Schnetzer & Jessie Cave
Dominic West
Andrew Scott
The Cast and Team behind PRIDE
We thought we’d re-visit the Cast of Paramount Pictures‘ Men, Women & Children once more at the official Party for the Film at new It-Spot, Montecito which happens also to be owned be legendary Filmmaker Ivan Reitman, Father of  Director Jason. Fans and Cameras lined the Carpet in eager anticipation as the Stars paraded by one-by-one including a few surprises! I was so happy to see our Friend Ansel Elgort, whom we met here in the City a couple years back when he was filming CARRIE. He noticed us right away at the Carpet proclaiming, “I’ve got to get a Selfie with Mr. Will!”. We’re incredibly proud how well he’s done and also what’s next to come for the Divergent and The Fault in our Stars Talent, who clearly has been propelled into Mega-stardom from the ecstatic screams I heard from Fans everywhere he went today.
Jennifer Garner
Rosemarie DeWitt
Ansel Elgort
Eugene Levy
Adam Sandler
An annual favourite Fixture of ours at TIFF is the InStyle Magazine Party, which shuts down a strip of Yorkville for a night and the amount of Starpower seen here was s t a g g e r i n g. We admit it was a bit of on the decline mostly due to unfortunate timing later in the Festival after an abundance of Stars leave town, but was it ever a night to remember for the Fans! We’re talking Megawatts!
Chris Evans (Before We Go)
Robert Downey Jr. (The Judge)
Noomi Rapace (The Drop)
Missy Peregrym dressed in Intermix (Backcountry)
Sarah Rafferty
Paul Dano (Love & Mercy)
Madeleine Stowe
Miles Teller (Whiplash)
Lacey Chabert (aka GRETCHEN WIENERS!!!)
Mark Ruffalo (Infinitely Polar Bear, Foxcatcher)
Jessica Chastain (Miss Julie)
Timothy Spall (Mr. Turner)
Ben Stiller (While We’re Young)
Jake Abel (Good Kill)
J.K. Simmons (Whiplash)
Abigail Spencer (This is Where I Leave You and The Forger)
Chloë Moretz (Laggies, Clouds of Sils Maria and The Equalizer)
Rick Hoffman
Nicola Peltz
Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything)
Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game)
Kevin Costner (Black & White)
Will Peltz (Men, Women & Children)
Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything)
Salma Hayek (Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet)
We spotted Channing Tatum, Jon Stewart and many, many more there also!!
Okay, we admit it. We were on a high and kept going right after till 5 AM (!!!) Â when we also spotted several other Stars out and about! Look!
Anna Kendrick (The Last Five Years)
Douglas Booth (The Riot Club)
Rosario Dawson (Top Five)
