In celebration of YouTube‘s upcoming streaming service launch in Canada, YOUTUBE MUSIC, the Country’s biggest stars in Music stepped-out at Rebel Night Club by Toronto’s waterfront to celebrate the occasion! Hosted by our v. own Lilly Singh, who has found meteoric international success as a YouTube star-turned-Entrepreneur, the packed house including a mixture of ad buyers, Music industry and contest winners.
The audience was treated to three-plus hours of genre-spanning Music including hot musical acts like Brett Kissel, Roy Woods, DVSN, Jessie Reyez, Johnny Orlando, The Glorious Sons, Charlotte Cardin, Scott Helman and headliner, Daniel Caesar. PartyNextDoor originally was to appear but had cancelled unfortunately, although the audience was more than delighted with the evening’s offerings.
Singh along with fellow YouTube personality Humble the Poet, unveiled her new puppy who sat patiently waiting on his mommy at the event with a handler. Singh tells the audience “This was the best decision I ever made”, own taking-on pet ownership. As a tribute to her hometown, she named the puppy “Scarborough” and he is adorable, being hoisted in the air without flinching to feverish cell phone snaps from the sea of adorers.

23-year-old Maddie Hasson is a name to look out for. The Actress is currently in Toronto filming Thriller YouYube Red (subscription service) series Impulse in which she stars as a high school girl who looks to escape her mundane town, discovering her ability to teleport. The Series based on the third installment of StevenGould‘s Jumper Novels, also deals with the v. relevant matter of sexual assault.
Hasson has starred in Series The Finder (Co-Star Geoff Stults also is in town) and Twisted for which she got nominated for a 2013 Teen Choice Award.Impulse set to debut in 2018, is produced and directed by acclaimed Filmmaker Doug Liman and also stars Missi Pyle.
The lovely Hasson delievered a memorable performance in TIFF ’17 selection Novitiate alongside Julianne Nicholson, Melissa Leo and Dianna Agron, and was out and about at the Festival with her husband Julian Brink, whom we spotted with her this weekend. She was just in Los Angeles for the TCAs this past weekend promoting the exciting new Series.

In celebration of a memorable year, a group of over 60 YouTube Content Creators came together and made a Mash-up Video titled YouTube Rewind: What Does 2013 Say?
Taking place Sunday, November 3, 3013, the first-ever YouTube Music Awards will take place in New York City at Pier 36!
