She’s on-top of the world! TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR is poised to debut atop the Box Office with a jawdropping $97 million this weekend from 3,850 theatres for AMC/Cineplex Pictures. Previous best for a North American October opening was held by JOKER with $96.3 million. At once, it becomes highest grossing Concert Film ever too! Critics and fans agree this is an amazing experience, nabbing a rare 100% on the Tomatometer.
Second is THE EXORCIST: BELEIVER with $11 million in its second weekend from 3,684 theatres for Univeral Pictures. Thus far it has grossed $44.9 million.
In third we’ve got PAW PATROL: THE MIGHTY MOVIE with $5.7 million from 3,707 theatres for Paramount Pictures/Elevation Pictures, taking it to $48.5 million in weekend three.
Fourth is SAW X with $5.3 million for Lionsgate/Cineplex Pictures, a $41.1 million run now in its third weekend.
THE CREATOR is fifth with $3.3 million, taking it to $33 million for 20th Century Studios.
THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER has converted Moviegoers, taking top spot at the Box Office this weekend in its debut with $28 million from 3,663 theatres for Universal Pictures. This latest installment in the Franchise which brings back Ellen Burstyn from the 1973 original film, gets 26% on the Tomatometer.
Second is last week’s champ, PAW PATROL: THE MIGHTY MOVIE, taking $11.5 million from 4,027 theatres for Elevation Pictures/Paramount Pictures. It totals $38.6 million over two weekends.
Third goes to SAW X with $8.6 million from 3,262 theatres for Lionsgate/Cineplex Pictures, a tally of $33 million weekend over two weekends.
In fourth we’ve got THE CREATOR with $5.3 million from 3,680 theatres for 20th Century Studios, bringing its run to $24.1 million in its second weekend.
THE NUN 2 caps things off with $2.6 million, a total $81 million for Warner Bros. in North America.
PAW PATROL: THE MIGHTY MOVIE is unstawppable in its opening! The second installment in the Franchise takes $22 million from 3,644 theatres for Elevation Pictures/Paramount Pictures. It gets 80% on the Tomatometer. Its previous installment in 2021 opened with $13 million amidst the Pandemic. It also has the distinction of widest opening in Canada since 2011, playing at 404 screens, and also the biggest opening for a Canadian film in the North American Box Office over the last ten years!
Second is SAW X which is garnering some fantastic reviews with 87% on the Tomatometer, pulling-in $17.5 from 3,262 theatres for Cineplex Pictures/Lionsgate. Best opening for the Franchise still goes to 2006’s SAW III with $33.6 million.
Third this weekend is THE CREATOR with $16 million from 3,680 theatres for 20th Century Studios. The latest from Gareth Edwards gets 67% on the Tomatometer.
Fourth goes to THE NUN 2 with $5 million from 2,871 theatres for Warner Bros., a tally of $77 million in its fourth weekend.
Rounding things out is A HAUNTING IN VENICE with $4 million for 20th Century Studios, a total run of $31.8 million to date.

Following the global success of PAW Patrol: THE MOVIE™, Spin Master Entertainment, Nickelodeon Movies, Paramount Pictures, and Elevation Pictures today revealed a star-studded lineup of new and returning talent who will join Golden Globe-winning Taraji P. Henson (“Empire”, Muppets Haunted Mansion) for the upcoming sequel PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie™. The CGI animated film, a Spin Master Entertainment production in association with Nickelodeon Movies, will be distributed by Paramount Pictures worldwide and Elevation Pictures in Canada. Preschoolers’ favorite team of pups return to the big screen with new voice talent including Golden Globe® nominated actor Kristen Bell (Frozen, Zootopia), ChristianConvery (“Sweet Tooth”), McKenna Grace (Gifted, “The Handmaid’s Tale”), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out, Free Guy), James Marsden (Disenchanted, Sonic The Hedgehog), Finn Lee-Epp (Let Him Go) as Ryder, and tennis ace Serena Williams. Movies are back in a big way! The Pandemic could not stop Moviegoers form flocking to theatres this weekend to see Marvel’s SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS. The latest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe starring Toronto’s Simu Liu, debuts atop the Box Office with $67.8 million (potentially $85 million by end of day Monday) from 4,300 theatres across North America, a record for biggest three-day Labour Day weekend opening. Add to this, this is the first ever Asian-led Film to reach this success! Critics agree the Film is a blast with a 92% on the Tomatometer.
In second is last week’s #1 film, CANDYMAN, taking $10.4 million for an anticipated total domestic run of $41.7 million by the end of Labour Day weekend for Universal Pictures.
FREE GUY lands in third with $8.9 million from 3,885 theatres for 20th Century Studios, a cumulative $94.5 million over four weeks. Not bad at all!
Fourth spot goes to PAW PATROL: THE MOVIE with $4.1 million from 3,004 theatres, a three week run of $31.7 million.
Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE, which just has been announced to have a Sequel rounds-out the Top Five with $3.7 million, a total $106.7 million over six weeks.
CANDYMAN proves to sweet to resist to Moviegoers, taking top spot at the Box Office this weekend. The Sequel to the 1992 Horror brought-in a healthy $22.3 million for Universal Pictures, from 3,569 theatres. The second Feature by Nia DaCosta gets 85% on the Tomatometer.
In second spot is FREE GUY with $13.5 million from 3,940 theatres for 20th Century Studios. Over three weeks, the Action-Fantasy-Comedy starring Ryan Reynolds has brought in $79.3 million domestically in North America.
Landing in third is PAW PATROL: THE MOVIE with $6.6 million in its second week out for Paramount/Elevation Pictures. Thus far it has grossed $24 million.
Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE is in fourth with $5 million in its fifth week out, just crossing $100 million.
DON’T BREATHE 2 rounds-out to the Top Five with $2.8 million for Sony Pictures, a total $24.6 million in three weeks.
Wildly-popular, err… should we say paw-pular, Animated Series PAW PATROL gets the big screen treatment and its young fans around the globe can’t seem to wait! The Red Carpet was rolled-out this morning at Toronto’s Scotiabank Theatre as the Canadian Cast, Creators and Crew of the Series, celebrated the upcoming release of PAW PATROL: THE MOVIE. The star-studded Feature directed by Toronto’s own Cal Brunker, sees the beloved pups band together to go head-to-head against Mayor Humdinger, who could well destroy Adventure City. The fact that several of the A-List names who voice the Film signed-on because their own families are fans of Paw Patrol, is a testament to its power.

The Franchise is loved internationally, a true testament to this being a true Canadian success story with its foundations rooted deeply in our country, produced by Canada’s Spin Master.
