MINIONS & MONSTERS debuts in top spot July 4th weekend with $39.5 million from 4,243 theatres for Universal Pictures. Critically, it is very well-received with 91% on the Tomatometer. Franchise best belongs to 2015’s MINIONS which debuted with $115 million.
Second goes to TOY STORY 5 which is still going strong with $32 million in its third weekend for Disney. Thus far it has grossed $365 million domestically.
Third goes to YOUNG WASHINGTON with $16 million from 2,700 theatres for Angel Studios. This gets 57% on the Tomatometer.
SUPERGIRL lands in fourth in its second weekend out with $10 million from 3,602 theatres for Warner Bros. It has made $48.8 million thus far.
DISCLOSURE DAY rounds it all out with $5.6 million, taking it to $104 million for Universal Pictures in its fourth frame.
