It was fantastic reuniting with the perfect 2026 HONDA CR-V HYBRID TOURING for our Canada Day and Pride festivities! beanie and I had a jampacked itinerary, and couldn’t have made it through this heatwave without this top-tier compact crossover SUV! It simply nails all the marks of everything we’d ever need.
This CR-V Hybrid Touring came in a beautiful Canyon River Blue Metallic, but in addition to looks it is powered by a 2.0-litre inline 4-cylinder engine (two electric motors), with Real Time AWD™ with Intelligent Control System™. It has 204 horsepower and a total of four modes for you to choose from: ECON, Normal, Sport, and Snow.
We can confirm a little actually goes a long way here with its exceptional Fuel Economy of 6.0/6.9/6.4 litres/100km for City/Highway/Combined on Regular Fuel. We got a few breaks during our Test Drive, including a dip to 139.9, which we’ll take considering the gas prices of late!
While there isn’t the option of seat-cooling which would’ve been nice considering how hot it was, we know its heated seats will come in handy many other times of the year here in Toronto. Driver and passenger get dual-zone climate control, second-row heater ducts, plus perforated leather-trimmed seats. Driver also gets 8-way power adjustment including 2-way power lumbar support, making for a very cozy and comfortable drive.
The Hybrid Touring‘s 12-speaker BOSE® Premium Sound System means glorious sound as you can sync your phone’s playlists or accessing Sirius XM, or its AM/FM options. It comes with a 9″ touchscreen centre display, very easy to use. Of course, it comes Apple CarPlay® / Android Auto™ -ready as well, with HD Radio™. Wireless phone charging and multiple USB-C ports show Honda cares about its riders as much as its drivers.
We appreciate the nice-to-haves which make life a bit easier, whether it be proximity entry, push-button start, or walk-away locks. Having tinted windows in the back for privacy for miss beanie also is something we value. It also gave rear-seat reminders just in case we forgot she was there sometimes! And who wouldn’t want a one-touch power moonroof that is included here in this model? It makes our day that much better.
This model’s Gloss Black 19″ aluminum-alloy wheels are exclusive to the Hybrid Touring and look outstanding. We love the details, including body-coloured, door handles, tailgate spoiler, plus black roof rails.
Safety is always a top priority with Honda and you get HondaLink Emergency Assist System access. And let’s not forget its abundance of Active Safety features like: Vehicle Stability Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto high beam headlights, Blind Spot Information (BSI) system, Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS®), Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM), Lane Departure Warning** (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Low-Speed Braking Control, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) system, Traffic Jam Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) system. Above all this, it has an immobilizer theft-deterrent system.
Passive safety features include: 3-point seat belts at all seating positions, Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, Advanced front airbags (SRS), Childproof rear door locks, Driver attention monitor, Driver’s and front passenger’s advanced front airbags (SRS), Driver & passenger side knee airbag, Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH), Rear outboard passengers’ side airbags, Seat belt reminder for all seating positions, Side curtain airbags with rollover sensor, and SmartVent™ side airbags.
While it was a week of scorching heat, we encountered a torrential downpour finally towards the end of our time with the 2026 CR-V Hybrid Touring, which in ways felt like relief. That’s where we were able to see its rain-sensing wipers put to use, in addition to rear-window wipers. Its rear-view camera which is self-cleaning by the way, also was of incredible use as well, especially for our downtown drives and trickier parking scenarios.
Our action-packed Canada Day and Pride adventures:
The 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring starts at $54,491 CAN. More here.
