But you DO know where you know her from! The beautiful, bubbly and hilarious Judy Greer made her way to Toronto this weekend and it isn’t for what you think. The Actress known affectionately for playing memorable and quirky Supporting Roles in Films like 27 Dresses, 13 Going on 30 and Arrested Development made a splash in the City today as she promoted her first-ever Memoir from Doubleday Publishing Group, I Don’t Know What You Know Me From.
The Book promises lots of insight into Greer‘s ascension in Hollywood and how it is that despite being so recognizable, she still finds herself feeling like an Outsider. She dishes about everything from the Oscars to one hunky make Co-Star who bought her Dad a Bike!
Greer appeared on national Media Outlets today like Global Television‘s The Morning Show (National Edition), CBC’s Q Radio and George Stroumboulopoulos, the latter which regretfully is wrapping soon. A larger number of Fans lined one of her morning appearances today for a chance to meet her and she was amazingly accommodating despite being in a rush, doing it all with smile! Love her.
It was just announced last week that Greer will be joining the Cast of eagerly-awaited JURASSIC WORLD, also starring Chris Pratt and Michelle Monaghan!

Greer was nice enough to sign an extra Photo, which you Wongsters are more than welcome to enter to win! To enter, simply click “like” on this Post at Mr. Will Wong on Facebook! Good luck!

Captain America: The Winter’s Solider absolutely ran the ship this weekend with a stunning $96.2 million debut from 3,938 theatres across North America for Disney. By comparison, its 2011 Predecessor garnered $65 million in its debut, a healthy showing for the Franchise. In Canada, it set an April Box Office record for a Film in the Country. The Film starring Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans was a hit with Critics, earning 89% on the Tomatometer, in addition to a big A CinemaScore from Audiences.
Last week’s Champ, Noah, slips to second spot this weekend for Paramount Pictures, garnering $17 million, a total of $72 million earned in its two weeks out.
Divergent meanwhile, still shows consistently good numbers, in third this weekend with $13 million for Lionsgate Films/eOne Films, tallying-in at $113 million in its domestic run over three weeks.
The Grand Budapest Hotel continues to do great in a limited number of theatres, with $6.3 million in fifth spot for Fox Searchlight, from only 1,263 theatres. Muppets Most Wanted is in sixth spot with $6.29 million for Disney, as it gets that little bit closer to that $50-million mark. Open Road Films’ Sabotage rounds-out the Top Ten with $1.8 million in its second week out.
I admit it! I’m totally behind on my TV viewing of late, but this weekend I discovered the highly-addictive new Sci-Fi Series from The CW, The 100! Starring a fresh-faced Cast including Eliza Taylor, Marie Avgeropoulos, Bobby Morley, Devon Bostick and Thomas McDonnell, the Series is set in a post-Apocalyptic Earth, where 100 young Men and Women are transported to, in order to determine whether or not Mankind finally can return and survive. The 100 were deemed Criminals and because they had not yet reached the age of 18, were not punished to death.
Based on the Series of Books by Kass Morgan, the Series premiered late March to 2.7 million Viewers, deemed a ratings Hit! If anyone knows what connects with young people, it’s certainly The CW, responsible for Arrow, Gossip Girl, America’s Next Top Model and Vampire Diaries and something tells me this is going to be around for a while. It is a cut from the same cloth which Fans of The Twilight Saga and The Hunger Games would wear.
Australian Actress Taylor is front and center of it all, starring as Clarke, who is imprisoned for aiding her Father, who was sentenced to death for revealing crucial information about The Ark‘s (a collective of Survivors residing in space stations at the time of the Apocalypse) depleting life support systems. She carries the weight of the Show with a commanding presence to her, acting as the logic and reason to a hot-headed group of Teens, whom at any turn could be eliminated at one wrong misstep.
The gorgeous Avgeropoulos is an interesting Character, the dark to Clarke‘s light. Suppressed her entire life and free to explore at last, she appears read to get herself in all sorts of trouble, starring as Octavia Blake. Bobby Morley plays her Brother, Bellamy, keeping a watchful eye on her, at once having to watch his own back as he makes his way onto the shuttle to Earth among The 100 through his own illicit means.
Toronto is represented by our v. own Bostick, known best for his work on Degrassi: The Next Generation, Adoration and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He plays the adventurous Jasper, who has his heart set on Octavia. You won’t want to see what happens to him at the end of the first Episode. Ouch!
Genre Fans also will recognize the lovely Kelly Hu as Cece, who has starred in a litany of TV Series and Films like Hawaii Five-O, The Scorpion King, Warehouse 13, Arrow and The Vampire Diaries.
Canadians are extremely lucky to get the entire first Season of The 100 licensed exclusively to Netflix Canada! That’s right, Canada – you can stream new episodes within 24 hours after each episode airs in the U.S. Wednesday nights on The CW at 9 PM EST.

After kicking-off in Vancouver on Valentine’s Day, Multimedia Megastar Miley Cyrus’ fourth self headlining Tour, in support of her 2013 Disc Bangerz, hit Toronto tonight at Air Canada Centre. Selling-out completely, the 21-year-old commanded the Stage Production, best described as sophisticated, colourful, playful Romp, which at once is highly sexually-charged. Outfit upon outfit, Fans were dazzled by her array of Roberto Cavalli-designed Bodysuits, some skimpier than others, before ultimately riding-off a giant Wiener, suspended mid-air. At one point, Cyrus even spat water on her Fans – met with few complaints, of course!
Cyrus who arrived early Sunday morning with her entourage, mother Tish and Sister Noah, remained low-key for much of her stay. The Star tells her Fans – many daringly-clad with their hair put into buns mimicking their Idol – that she has a special affection for Toronto having lived here four years as a Child. Times certainly have changed and a once precocious young Girl, now back with the World at the tip of her well-manicured and tattooed finger.
Without making Fans wait too long, the Actress/Songstress zipped through 22 Tracks in two hours, focusing mostly on her number one- selling Disc Bangerz, with a couple familiar hits like Can’t be Tamed and Party in the U.S.A. sprinkled sparsely. Fans went ballistic as she encored her Smash Wrecking Ball and We Can’t Stop. She even surprised those Smilers (as she calls her Fans affectionately), further doing an impromptu Set before them including Covers of Summertime Sadness (Lana Del Rey), The Scientist (Coldplay) and Jolene (Dolly Parton), us witnessing the bright ring of her powerful, resonant vocals. She had tried to capture the moment on her Phone via a Selfie Video, although the Device ran out of memory, forcing her to delete some files on-stage.
Anybody doubting Cyrus’ Artistry or longevity as an Entertainer beyond her wildly-successful teen past, undoubtedly would have been silenced by her dazzling display tonight. She is an exciting Artist who continues to defy the odds and grow regardless what her Naysayers might think.
