We’re officially at the halfway point of TIFF ’14 and we’re still kickin’ it with tons of Stars to snap around the City!

Our day began bright and early with an appearance on 99.9 VIRGIN RADIO where we chat about Channing Tatum and spotting Stars at TIFF!

Tonight’s marquee Gala was David Cronenberg‘s Cannes-acclaimed Film, MAPS TO THE STARS.  Fans queued bright and early outside TIFF Bell Lightbox for a chance to see one of the Film’s Stars, Robert Pattinson of The Twilight Saga.  Filmed in Toronto last Summer, the odd Story centers on a washed-up Actress (Julianne Moore) looking for a Career resurgence.  See the Stars below, some of which headed over to the NKPR IT Lounge (enter to win a Prize Pack here!) afterward for some Photos with Caitlin Cronenberg‘s – Daughter  of David – in her W Magazine Portrait Lounge.

THE IMITATION GAME
While walking on-foot, I also stumbled upon the Cast of The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Matthew Goode and Keira Knightley. The Film, getting tons of Oscar buzz, re-tells Mathematician Alan Turing‘s struggles in the WWII Era.

LEARNING TO DRIVE
Sir Ben Kingsley who was just in Toronto earlier this year filming LIFE, was spotted downtown today doing Press for his latest effort, Learning to Drive.

ESCOBAR: PARADISE LOST
Academy Award Winner Benicio Del Toro may be a genius Actor but had a bit of struggle understanding the concept of a Selfie! We spotted him arriving tonight, as he gets ready to premiere his latest Film, Escobar: Paradise Lost.

GOOD KILL
If anyone’s show longevity in Hollywood, it’s Academy Award Winner Ethan Hawke. Work has brought the Star to Toronto on multiple occasions in recent years and his latest, Good Kill premiered tonight at Ryerson Theatre. The Actor was partying at the Storys Building afterward.

It was yet another action-packed day at TIFF ‘14 with several Stars doing the rounds. Although it is no longer the crazy bustle of the weekend, there still is much left with many more Stars to see as we reach the half-way point of the Festival.

The Press Conference for Shawn Levy’s This is Where I Leave You consumed most of our morning, the Drama about a Family of Siblings who are forced to live under one roof again after the passing of their Father.

Foxcatcher already is primed for a loaded Awards Season Campaign Trail and many are claiming it could well win Best Picture early next year.  Its Stars drew an ecstatic reaction earlier from Fans  who lined the street for a sneak peek at its Stars.

The excitement just doesn’t stop!  TIFF ’14 DAY FOUR might have seen sparser numbers of Celebrities out and about, but it certainly wasn’t any shorter on that star quality.

We started off capturing Snaps at the Press Conference for Sony Pictures’ The Equalizer, based on the original TV Series and starring Denzel Washington, Chloë Moretz and Martin Csokas.  After arriving  fashionably late, Washington took the time to come out and throw waves and handshakes and posing in front of a long line of Fans.

We later ran into the outstanding Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson, who reunited last week for a special 30th Anniversary Edition Ghostbusters Screening in honour of Bill Murray Day.

Shortly after, we also spotted Salma Hayek again, in-town for Gibran Khalil’s The Prophet. Absolutely gorgeous!

And absolutely unexpected, we crossed paths with Steve Carell as he did Press for FOXCATCHER.  Word is that he’s been a bit touchy with the Fan Photos and Autographs since arriving this weekend.   But amazingly he was nice to pose for Photos after he finished his Press!

The Imitation Game might not be premiering till Tuesday, but it already is creating much buzz and its Stars were spotted out and about today. The Drama sees Benedict Cumberatch playing Mathematician Alan Turing in the WWII Era where Homosexuality was punishable by law. And guess who we saw from its Cast?

We’ve long loved British Star Simon Pegg and having missed our chance to see him for Run Fatboy Run in 2007, finally we get a chance to see him here with the spirited Hector and the Search for Happiness this year.

Anna Kendrick‘s latest, The Last Five Years, adapted from the Musical of the same name is getting a great amount of buzz at TIFF ’14 and we are so happy to see her back again after an absence since 50/50 premiered here!

There is no denying that in my Catalogue of Photos with the Stars, this takes the cake! Bill Murray is loved and celebrated by many and hot on the heels of TIFF‘s recognition of him via its BILL MURRAY DAY last week, we finally get our own moment with him. We spotted the comedic Star doublefisting drinks… just the way it was meant to be!

Today will forever go down as the most explosive day of all time for TIFF! Stars were bursting at every seam after what was felt by the consensus as a a slow start to the Festival on Thursday. Parties were held all around the City and we made several successful Pit Stops around the City and got fueled by Starpower!

The day began with a Press Conference for Jason Reitman‘s new Film about  sexual frustrations, Men, Women & Children and although normally Fans get a chance to see and interact with the Cast, it would be the running-behind-schedule which hindered the experience. We love Paul Bettany and were ecstatic about meeting him as he went about his Press Day for self-directed Shelter, which premieres at TIFF ’14.

Not too far long after, we made our way over to the official Audi-sponsored Party for Oscar Contender, PRIDE over at Hotspot The Citizen.  All I have to say is Truffle Poutine.  Delish. The light-hearted Dramedy documents the true struggle of a Gay Activist Group in England, supporting Miners in need. The only thing however, is that the striking Miners didn’t want to be associated with the Group. The Film won a two-minute Standing Ovation from its Audience yesterday afternoon. The Cast and Team behind PRIDE

We thought we’d re-visit the Cast of Paramount Pictures‘ Men, Women & Children once more at the official Party for the Film at new It-Spot, Montecito which happens also to be owned be legendary Filmmaker Ivan Reitman, Father of  Director Jason. Fans and Cameras lined the Carpet in eager anticipation as the Stars paraded by one-by-one including a few surprises! I was so happy to see our Friend Ansel Elgort, whom we met here in the City a couple years back when he was filming CARRIE. He noticed us right away at the Carpet proclaiming, “I’ve got to get a Selfie with Mr. Will!”. We’re incredibly proud how well he’s done and also what’s next to come for the Divergent and The Fault in our Stars Talent, who clearly has been propelled into Mega-stardom from the ecstatic screams I heard from Fans everywhere he went today.

Day 2 of TIFF ’14 certainly was not short on the Starpower, however it would be the torrential downpour of rain and a Thundershower early evening which would curtail what I anticipated would be a long night. That being said, I am going to rest-up and be up and at ’em early with a proper night of rest!

The Day began with the Press Conference for David Dobkin‘s THE JUDGE, starring Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall, Vera Farmiga, Dax Shepard and more!  Downey  drew a vast majority of the Crowd today and certainly tried rewarding them all with some Autographs, zipping along in circular fashion before heading into his Photo Call.

With few expectations in mind, we crossed paths today with many Stars out and about! Check-out some of these familiar faces!

Rene Russo at TIFF ’14 for Nightcrawler in which she stars opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, looks absolutely stunning and is amazingly sweet in-person I’m pleased to say!

I’ve long been touting British Star Felicity Jones as one to look out for. The Actress appears in much-buzzed The Theory of Everything opposite Eddie Redmayne, and despite checking-in quickly at her Hotel, she still came out to say “hello” to everyone after. She also was here a couple years back with Like Crazy and Hysteria. We kinda match, no?

Although we’re unsure which Film she’s at TIFF ’14 for, Orange is the New Black Star Alysia Reiner surprised us all today and in all honesty she looked a little surprised how excited Fans were to see her!

Not a Woman of many words, Director Lone Scherfig was shocked to be recognized today. I loved her 2010 Film An Education starring Carey Mulligan, which also premiered at TIFF, and am eagerly awaiting her latest, The Riot Club, which debuts this weekend at TIFF ’14!

Funnyman Eddie Izzard certainly is no stranger to Toronto, having brought his Shows here on multiple occasions and also filming Hannibal in the City. He is at TIFF ’14 with Dustin Hoffman-starring Boychoir.

I admit it! I’m still a bit of a Gleek at heart! Was absolutely surprised to see Kevin McHale, who plays Artie on the Series, out and about today. He also stars in Boychoir alongside Izzard.

I adore Rafe Spall, the talented British Actor known best for his work in Films like The F Word and The Life of Pi. I lucked-out totally seeing him at Ryerson Theatre tonight for the Premiere of X+Y which saw its Red Carpet go on despite heavy rains.

Young Hollywood is filled with promising Stars, but Asa Butterfield certainly would be at the top of his class. Starring in critical and Box Office successes Ender’s Game and also Martin Scorcese‘s Hugo, the 17-year-old Brit is at TIFF ’14 with X+Y which seems him starring as a socially-awkward young Math Prodegy.

Tomorrow the excitement reaches a peak as we expect to see the likes of Jennifer Garner, Tina Fey, Bill Murray, Ansel Elgort and several, several more! Stay tuned.

I live for this Festival!  TIFF  ’14 Day One has arrived at long last and what an eventful day it was.  I appreciate everyone taking the time to tune-in to CP24 for my Interview with Stephen LeDrew!  As always, it’s a blast contributing every year and I’m honoured to be asked to help-out again this year.  Catch me throughout the Festival and visit their official website for some of my exclusives!

The Carpet tonight was absolutely crazy for The Judge, the Drama sees Robert Downey Jr. play a Big City Lawyer who returns to his hometown to learn that his Father, a Judge, stands accused of Murder!  Stars Dax Shepard (and Wife Kristen Bell!), Vera Farmiga and Robert Duvall also graced the Roy Thomson Hall Carpet.  One lucky young Man dressed as Iron Man even got a Photo Op with Downey!  More pics to come tomorrow of the Cast, but here’s one of Downey greeting Fans.  He was spotted afterward at Ivan Reitman‘s new Restaurant, Montecito although Fans and Media were barred access seeing the Cast’s arrivals.

French Star Juliette Binoche always is a Vision and it was amazing seeing her up-close over at the Princess of Wales Theatre.  The Actress stars alongside Kristen Stewart (absent tonight) in the Drama about an aging Actress’ struggles and her Friendship with her Assistant.  See a Snap below of Binoche greeting Fans.

Everyone doubted me but here’s proof for your own eyes. TOM HARDY IS IN TOWN!  I was one of the few lucky ones who got a Snap of him tonight.  The Actor stars in The Drop, known as the late James Gandolfini‘s final performance on-screen.  The New York-filmed Movie sees Hardy as a Bartender caught between the Mafia and what’s right.  As anticipated, he was amazingly gracious and those who are following know he was my #1 this Festival. I’m on Cloud Nine.

As if things couldn’t get any better, we also spotted the brilliant Melissa McCarthy who stars alongside Bill Murray in St. Vincent.  Although it took the Bridesmaids Star a while to confirm, she eventually made it.  She was exhausted but made an exception for a quick Snap. I’m dying.

Now in its 39th year, TIFF ’14 kicked-off with an Opening Night Gala at none other than TIFF BELL LIGHTBOX.  Ringing-in the celebrations was Acting Icon Al Pacino who did a Q&A with George Stroumboulopoulos, discussing everything from his childhood to what he looks for in a project now.  The Godfather Star says without ever a doubt he always knew he would be a Movie Star, encouraged by a Grade School Teacher who noted to his Grandmother his talent at a young age.  “I feel like I am doing Films I feel are reflective of where I am in my life.”, states Pacino.

The New York-born-Los Angeles Transplant is at TIFF ’14 with two new Films, The Humbling and Manglehorn.  Arriving on the Red Carpet tonight with his Girlfriend Lucia Sola, Pacino admits the former is subject close to him.  The Film is about a suicidal Actor and a younger Woman’s sexual relationship.   “Manglehorn challenged me to do something different”, he says about the other Drama which seems him starring as a Locksmith in a small town, never quite getting over the love of his life.

The Star got candid about his childhood and relationship with his estranged Father whom had married five times.  Although he didn’t get to know his Father Sal well as a Child, he recalls distinctly understanding what it felt like for the first time feeling his Father’s spirit covering him after his death.  He remembers feeling so moved that he had been stopped in his tracks.

In addition, an Auction was held for the charitable Organization afterward, one prize including a shadowing opportunity with TIFF‘s Chief Executive Officer Piers Handling. Among those ringing-in the festivities tonight were a Who’s-Who of Canadian Talent including Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy), Sarah Gadon (Maps to the Stars),  Gabriel Macht (Suits), Don McKellar (Sensitive Skin), Colm Feore (The Borgias), Eric Johnson (Rookie Blue), Gregory Smith (Rookie Blue) and Newlyweds Zachary Levi (Chuck) and Missy Peregrym (Rookie Blue); Peregrym looked dazzling head-to-toe in Intermix.

TIFF ’14 has finally arrived, running Thursday, September 4, 2014 through Sunday September 14, 2014!

The amount of buzz surrounding Young Adult Adaptation The Maze Runner is deafening. A Trio of Cast Members from the Action-Fantasy headed by star Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf), Will Poulter (We’re the Millers) and Kaya Scodelario (Skins) arrived in Toronto last night to promote the new Film by Director Wes Ball.

We caught up with the Cast earlier today as they were out doing a morning of Press with visits to CITY‘s Breakfast Television and CP24 Breakfast. Although O’Brien opted for privacy with a super-protective Bodyguard escorting him out through a hidden exit, Co-Stars Poulter and Scodelario were more than happy to stop and pose for Photos with Fans and happy the Fans were indeed!  See their Breakfast Television Interview here.

When Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. SAMSUNG CANADA

I’ll admit that I have never used a Tablet in my life so I look forward to trying one for the first time in style, the Galaxy Tab S from Samsung Canada. With its spacious screen, Super Amoled Display and Ultra Power Saving Mode, I’ll be counting on this Beauty to be my Communication Hub and perhaps even be blogging directly from it TIFF ’14!

For the first time also, I’ll be trying-out the Samsung Galaxy S5 as my main means of communication during the Festival.  I look forward to Tweeting, Facebooking and Instagramming with all of you from that 5.1″ screen and up to 13 hours of battery life, about all my exciting Star Spottings and which Films you should be seeing!  More here.

For the first time TIFF ’14, I’ll be operating fully with an SLR Camera thanks to Nikon Canada and their amazing Nikon D3300 HDSLR!  I’ll be shooting in 24.2 megapixels and am rather excited about that wireless adapter for easy of uploading.  Just think all those amazing Selfies and Red Carpet Snaps I’ll be posting with this!  Can’t wait to see who we’ll spot and snap!  More here.

I am a strong Believer in driving Hybrid Vehicles, not only for obvious environmental benefits, but also their fuel efficiency.  I am so pumped – pardon the pun – to drive the 2015 Ford Fusion ENERGI SE this TIFF as I cruise along the Highway with my SiriusXM!  Those heated front seats surely will come in handy on those chilly TIFF nights and its compact size is perfect for those tight spots downtown.
