Today, trailblazing country artist Orville Peck releases his epic new single “Drift Away” and announces his highly anticipated forthcoming project, the Appaloosa EP, out November 14 on Warner Records — pre-save HERE. With cinematic flair and sky-scraping vocals, “Drift Away” is an invitation to escape the mundane and a powerful start to a new era. Listen HERE .
“Drift Away” opens on lonesome guitar and Peck’s iconic voice as he paints a vivid picture of small-town ennui in the post-pandemic era: “Watch the kids ridin’ shotgun roads, in ’21 all the movies closed, high and dry they got nowhere else to go.” He captures the restlessness of youth and the quest for belonging, before offering relief on the soaring chorus: “It’s not about gettin’ out, it’s about lettin’ go, don’t ya know? Drift away with me, drift away with me.” The huge hook is cowboy crooner gold, with a little Pixies and Elvis Presley thrown in for good measure.
The new music lands during an incredibly momentous year for Peck. Next month, he’s throwing his 7th Annual Rodeo, running November 14-16 in Pioneertown, CA, at Pappy & Harriet’s, and featuring performances from Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Joy Oladokun, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Allison Russell, and more. Beyond curating the entire experience — which includes nightly afterparties and a drag brunch hosted by Meatball — Peck will play a different set each day, notably headlining on Saturday, November 15. Go HERE for info and tickets.
Peck has also been making massive inroads on stage and screen, having just wrapped filming on the star-studded 2026 Street Fighter movie, in which he plays the masked assassin Vega. Moreover, this summer he made his Broadway debut in a five-month, 128-show run of Cabaret. Peck’s performance as the Emcee drew rave reviews, including from VOGUE who wrote, “He makes an absurdly successful Emcee — with an intuitive command of the line between desire and menace that rivals, if we’re honest, that of Joel Grey and Alan Cumming.” NPR called his portrayal of the role “beautiful and full of longing,” while PLAYBILL gushed, “There’s a certain power in a persona, and few modern musicians have wielded it as effectively as Orville Peck.”
“Drift Away” is notably Peck’s return to solo songcraft. In recent months, he’s teamed up with Noah Cyrus for “Love Is a Canyon,” and Kesha for “Tennessee” also featuring Hudson Mohawke and Tayla Parx. The latter will appear on the album All Things Go: 10 Years, out November 7, with all proceeds benefitting Jack and Rachel Antonoff’s The Ally Coalition.
And last year, of course, Peck dropped his eclectic and acclaimed duets album Stampede, featuring collaborations with Kylie Minogue and Diplo on “Midnight Ride,” Beck on “Death Valley High,” and Willie Nelson for a cover of “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other.” The project pushes the boundaries of country by creating a unique, genre-blurring blend of styles with each artist on the guest list, which also includes Elton John, Teddy Swims, Midland, Margo Price, Molly Tuttle, Cyrus, Rateliff, Russell, and many, many more.
Always riding ahead of the herd, Orville Peck is gearing up to share more bold, heartfelt, and horizon-expanding music. Saddle up for Appaloosa and the Rodeo, both on November 14.

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, two of Toronto’s leading Neo-Latin chefs—Esau Garcia of Ficoa and Andrés Jaramillo of Abrielle—bring their MICHELIN-recognized experience from previous kitchens, unite for Scripted Plates, the first in a series one-night tasting experiences hosted by Ficoa (585 College St.). The first edition featuring Abrielle will explore the meeting point of Neo-Latin fire and Mediterranean calm. Garcia, whose culinary path spans from Totti’s in Australia to celebrated Toronto kitchens such as Rosalinda, Lena, and Madrina Bar y Tapas—brings his signature wood-fired intensity. Jaramillo, who began cooking at just 15, rose to national attention on MasterChef Colombia, and refined his craft at Alobar and Alder before leading Abrielle, brings a soulful Mediterranean expression. Together, they will present a tasting that celebrates passion, technique, and culinary artistry.
Guests can reserve their seats [HERE].
“We didn’t set out to fuse cuisines,” says Garcia. “We wanted to let them speak to each other. Abrielle is Mediterranean, but Andrés brings a vibrant Colombian perspective that naturally complements my Mexican roots and Ficoa’s Neo-Latin approach. Food is a universal language, and this collaboration is our conversation on the plate.”
Each seating will feature a curated tasting menu priced at $180 with alcoholic pairings or $160 with non-alcoholic pairings, exclusive of tax and gratuity. The pairings—designed collaboratively between the two bar programs—highlight complementary expressions of minerality, smoke, and acidity.
The first in an ongoing series of chef collabs by Ficoa, Scripted Plates also gestures toward something larger: the city’s growing appetite for cross-genre dining, where chefs engage in conversation rather than competition. Scripted Plates reflects that shift—a confidence that Toronto’s culinary identity no longer fits neatly into borders.
Event Details
Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2025
Location: Ficoa — 585 College Street West, Toronto
Seatings: 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM
Tasting Menu: $180 with alcoholic pairings | $160 with non-alcoholic pairings
(Prices exclude tax and gratuity)

Disney+ announced that FX’s “Adults”, the ensemble comedy that The New York Times called “’Friends’ for a new generation,” has been renewed for a second season. The news was shared today by Kate Lambert, Executive Vice President, Development, FX Entertainment. All episodes of Season 1, which was filmed in Toronto, are available to stream on Hulu on Disney+ in Canada.
FX’s “Adults” is created by Ben Kronengold & Rebecca Shaw, who are Executive Producers and Writers. Comedy veterans Nick Kroll, Sarah Naftalis and Jonathan Krisel are Executive Producers. The series stars Lucy Freyer, Amita Rao, Owen Thiele, and Canadians Malik Elassal and Jack Innanen.
“Ben and Rebecca are incredibly talented writers, and they have expertly and hilariously captured the experience of being a young adult in today’s world,” said Lambert. “The entire cast—Malik, Lucy, Jack, Amita and Owen—is exceptional in bringing it to life in a way that has truly connected with its audience.
FX’s “Adults” follows a group of twenty-somethings in New York trying to be good people, despite being neither “good” nor “people” yet. “Samir” (Malik Elassal), “Billie” (Lucy Freyer), “Paul Baker” (Jack Innanen), “Issa” (Amita Rao) and “Anton” (Owen Thiele) are five friends crashing together in Samir’s childhood home, where they share their meals, anxieties and, occasionally, toothbrushes.
The series puts a slightly heightened twist on the wins, losses and humiliations of starting out in the adult world. Whether they’re trying to get ahead at work, navigating the healthcare system, hosting a dinner party or dating in the age of Find My Friends, the group is finding that nothing about the real world is simple, and all their best intentions tend to make things worse.
FX’s “Adults” is created by and executive produced by Ben Kronengold & Rebecca Shaw (“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”), Nick Kroll (“Big Mouth”, “The League”), Sarah Naftalis (“What We Do in the Shadows”), Jonathan Krisel (“Baskets”, “English Teacher”) and Rob Rosell (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, “New Girl”). “Adults” is produced by FX Productions.
The first season of FX’s “Adults” was well-received with fans and TV critics, including:
“a funny and cozy comedy series with a fun ensemble” – That Shelf
“a hangout cringe comedy for the next generation” – Rolling Stone
“‘Friends’ for a new generation” – The New York Times
“finds the fun in Gen Z Messiness” – TheWrap
“chaotic, heartfelt, and current….an instantly lovable television friend group” – Mashable
“wildly hilarious….one of the most relatable comedies ever” – Collider
“irresistibly adorable….perfectly capturing the emotions and experiences of twenty somethings just starting out in the world” – Paste
“a welcome shot in the arm to TV comedy” – TVLine
“entertaining and offbeat….laugh-out-loud moments” – The A.V. Club
“a beautiful, chaotic, comedic crash course in figuring it all out” – Awards Buzz

MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service and production company has acquired the Spanish ten-part romantic drama series The New Years (LOS AÑOS NUEVOS) for distribution in North America, Latin America, United Kingdom, Ireland, The Netherlands, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, and India in a multi-territory deal with Spanish SVOD platform Movistar Plus+. The series will launch on MUBI with two episodes on December 3, 2025 followed by one new episode each week.
The New Years, from César Award-winning director Rodrigo Sorogoyen (The Beasts), follows Ana (Iria Del Río – Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End) and Óscar (Francesco Carril – Three Goodbyes) from their first meeting, on the night they both turn thirty, through ten New Year’s Eves. She lives in a shared flat, dislikes her job, and changes friends frequently. He’s a doctor with his life sorted—until they meet and fall in love. Ten consecutive years, with each episode capturing a single night that reveals how love evolves, the series is an honest examination of modern commitment and choosing someone, year after year.
The New Years was created by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Paula Fabra, and Sara Cano and received its World Premiere at the 81st Venice Film Festival. The show launched later that year in Spain via Movistar Plus+ to critical acclaim, with several local journalists calling the film the best series of the year.
Fabrizia Palazzo, Distribution Manager at Movistar Plus+ International says, “we are very glad that The New Years will be the first Spanish TV series on a platform committed to independent cinema. Having the opportunity to reach viewers from so many different territories is a great opportunity for our original content.”
The New Years is produced by Domingo Corral, Fran Araújo of Movistar Plus+, as well as Eduardo Villanueva, Nacho Lavilla, Rodrigo Sorogoyen of Caballo Films.
The Academy Award® nominated director Rodrigo Sorogoyen is a highly sought after Spanish director and screenwriter; his work has received multiple accolades, including six Goya Awards, and his films have world premiered across festivals including the San Sebastián Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and Tokyo Film Festival. His career has included directing such notable films as May God Save Us (2016), The Realm (2018), and The Beasts (2022) – the latter of which premiered at Cannes and won several awards internationally, including the César and Lumière Awards for Best Foreign Film and the Tokyo Grand Prix. Sorogoyen co-founded the international production company Caballo Films in 2011.
This latest acquisition adds to MUBI’s growing focus on presenting series alongside films on the streaming platform. Most recent exclusive series titles on MUBI include Joe Wright’s Mussolini: Son of the Century, Cooper Raiff’s Hal & Harper, Wiliam Kentridge’s Self Portrait as a Coffee Pot, and Lars von Trier’s The Kingdom Trilogy. To mark the 35th anniversary of its release, David Lynch and Mark Frost’s visionary cult classic, Twin Peaks (1990) and Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series (2017), was released by MUBI in select territories. MUBI also recently announced it will be releasing Wong Kar Wai’s series, Blossoms Shanghai, in multiple territories in the spring 2026.
Today we get a Trailer for STRANGER THINGS 5!
STRANGER THINGS 5 Premiere Dates:
Volume 1: November 26, 2025 @ 5pm PT
Volume 2: December 25, 2025 @ 5pm PT
The Finale: December 31, 2025 @ 5pm PT
Counting down to the final chapter, the cast, creators, and executive producers of ‘Stranger Things’ set the stage for what’s to come and where we find our characters at the start of the season, as told to Tudum:
“Eleven is in training mode. She’s in a warrior state, which is the first time you see Eleven like that at the beginning of a season. As for her mindset, all she is thinking about is protecting her friends. Her friends are her chosen family, so she will do whatever it takes to protect them and we’re going to see that.”
“Dustin is kind of in a bit of a funk. I think everybody probably is considering the state that Hawkins is in, and it’s getting a little bit harder for the gang to keep all the pieces together. We’re all dealing with the day-to-day issues of what it is to try to keep everybody safe and figure out where Vecna is, while having a lot of unpacked baggage from the events in the previous season.”
“It’s always been in the beginning of a season that everything is all good, but this is the first season we come into it and the stakes are the same as where we left off. We haven’t defeated Vecna and the problem is still there. We’re still trying to figure it out and we may not be able to figure it out, so you feel that burden on Lucas as well as everyone else on the show. Everyone is on edge and we’re all just trying to keep hope alive.”
“Will is back in Hawkins this season. He was out of Hawkins for the last season, so now we’re seeing the effects of him being back in that realm. We kind of hit the ground running right away this season, which is really exciting and not how we’ve started any other season. Everyone is all in one place and we all have the same objective.”
“We ended Season 4 in a tough place for Max. Her final moments were her in a hospital bed. Eleven was searching for her in the void and couldn’t find her, so Max is definitely not the way she once was. There’s still a small glimmer of hope, though, and her friends are hanging on to that.”
“Mike is back in leadership mode, and he’s kind of taken it more upon himself to help plan out these missions, and he and the whole gang are devoted to finding Vecna and ending this.”
“I think what’s unique about this season is that it starts a little bit in chaos because our heroes ultimately lost at the end of Season 4. We usually set up their normal life and how they’re going about school, and then we introduce the supernatural element. But in this case, this season is sprinting from the start.”
“The action is next level, the visual effects are next level, but I’m also happy to say that the emotional center remains the same. And part of the magic of this show is that even as we evolve, even as the storytelling becomes more epic, it’s always anchored in these characters that we love.”

ABOUT THE SERIES
A love letter to the ‘80s classic genre films that captivated a generation, Stranger Things is a thrilling drama set in the seemingly normal Midwestern town of Hawkins, Indiana. After a boy vanishes into thin air, his close-knit group of friends and family search for answers and are pulled into a high-stakes and deadly series of events. Beneath the surface of their ordinary town lurks an extraordinary supernatural mystery, along with top-secret government experiments and a dangerous gateway that connects our world to a powerful yet sinister realm. Friendships will be tested and lives will be altered as what they discover will change Hawkins and possibly the world — forever.
Created by The Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things debuted in 2016 and quickly became one of Netflix’s most popular television series ever, with its fourth season alone amassing over 140.7M views globally. Rooted in ‘80s nostalgia, it boosted Kate Bush’s track “Running Up That Hill” into the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time in its 38-year history. The series has also garnered over 70 awards worldwide including Emmys® and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and has been nominated for over 230 awards. The highly anticipated fifth and final season will release later this year in three volumes at 5PM PT: four episodes on November 26, three episodes on Christmas and the finale on New Year’s Eve. The beloved franchise offers fans various ways to engage with the cultural phenomenon year-round, including: the Olivier and Tony-award winning stage play, Stranger Things: The First Shadow; a collection of books takes fans deeper into the story; the touring Stranger Things: The Experience which recently expanded to Brazil and Australia; Stranger Things: Escape the Dark; a brand new immersive experience set to open at Netflix House later this year; Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85, an animated series that will take fans back to Hawkins; fans celebrate November 6 — the day Will Byers went missing — as ‘Stranger Things Day;’ and they can follow @StrangerThings.Things for fun ways to bring the world into their everyday lives.
