#BOXOFFICE: “SUPER MARIO” CONTINUES TO POWER UP

THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE takes the top spot at the Box Office a second straight week! Bringing-in a stellar $72 million from 4,371 theatres for Universal Pictures, a total $332 million grossed already.

Second place goes to AIR with $8 million its second weekend out from 3,507 theatres, a tally of $33.5 million for Warner Bros. domestically.

In third is RENFIELD, which stars Nicolas Cage and Nicholas Hoult, opening with $7.9 million for Universal PIctures. It passes with a 60% score on the Tomatometer.

Fourth is THE POPE’S EXORICST with $7.8 million for Sony Screen Gems/Sony Pictures. It gets 46% on the Tomatometer.

Rounding things out in fifth is JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 with $7 million from 3,033 theatres, a total $159 million for Cineplex Pictures/Lionsgate.

#BOXOFFICE: “SUPER MARIO” HOPS TO THE TOP EASTER WEEKEND

THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE is en route to big things with a $137 million opening from 4,343 theatres this three-day Easter weekend for Universal Pictures/Illumination, making it the biggest debut for a film yet in 2023 so far, surpassing ANT-MAN & THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA‘s $101 million. This also becomes lllumination‘s biggest opening ever, besting all Minions franchise films. Critics weren’t sold though, with this getting 56% on the Tomatometer, but fan reactions have been strong with a 96% Audience Score.

Second goes to DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOR AMONG THIEVES, taking $13.6 million week two, a total $61 million for Paramount Pictures.

In third is JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 with $13.4 million, a three week total of $145 million for Lionsgate/Cineplex Pictures.

Fourth is AIR, debuting with $11.6 million for Warner Bros./Amazon Studios. This latest directorial effort from Director and Star Ben Affleck gets 91% on the Tomatometer and a fantastic 98% Audience Score.

HIS ONLY SON rounds the Top Five out with $3.8 million for Angel Studios, a total $11.8 million over two weeks.

#FIRSTLOOK: CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT FOR “SUPER MARIO BROS.”

A star-studded Cast has been announced for an upcoming Animated Feature. The Film is set to arrive in Canada December 21, 2022 and will be directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic.

The Cast includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike and surprise cameos from Charles Martinet.

We cannot wait!
