This is the biggest April Wedneaday opening of all time, with a first day of $34.5 million. Critics give this 41% on the Tomatometer. Its 2023.predecessor opened with $146 million. Review here.
Second is PROJECT HAIL MARY takes in amazing $33.2 million from 3,907 theatres Anazon MGM Studios. This takes it to $219 million domestically, over three weekends.
Third goes to THE DRAMA, with $13 million from 3,087 theatres for A24 and VVS Films. It gets 79% on the Tomatometer. Review here.
HOPPERS takes fourth with $6 million, a total $149 million over five weekends for Disney.
REMINDERS OF HIM rounds-out the Top Five with $2.3 million for Universal Pictures, a tally of $45 million.
PROJECT HAIL MARY remains on-top a second week with $53.1 million from 4,077 theatres for Amazon MGM Studios. It has grossed $162.9 million over two weekends.
HOPPERS is in second with $11.3 million, a total $137.6 million grossed over four weekends for Disney.
THEY WILL KILL YOU debuts in third with $5.5 million from 2,778 theatres for Warner Bros. It gets 66% on the Tomatometer.
In fourth is DHURANDHAR: THE REVENGE makes $4.6 million, a two week total of $22 million for Moviegoer.
REMINDERS OF HIM rounds things out with $4.5 million for Universal Pictures, a total $49 million grossed over three weekends.
It’s a huge opening for PROJECT HAIL MARY, taking $70 million from 4,007 theatres in its debut this weekend for Amazon MGM Studios. It improves upon original projections in the $50 million range. Critically, it gets an outstanding 95% on the Tomatometer. The Film was made for about $250 million. Review here.
Second is HOPPERS with a whopping $21 million, taking it to $123 million for Disney over three weekends.
DHURANDAR: THE REVENGE opens in third with $11 million. This is a sequel to the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time. Moviegoers Entertainment release the Hindi title.
Fourth goes to Toronto-made READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME with $10 million from 3,010 theatres for Searchlight Pictures. Its predecessor debuted with $8 million in 2019. It gets 75% on the Tomatometer.
REMINDERS OF HIM rounds things out with $8.7 million in its second week out for Universal Pictures, taking it to $33.8 million domestically.
It’s HOPPERS on-top again a second week at the Box Office, taking $30 million, bringing the Disney and Pixar release to $88.3 million over two weekends.
REMINDERS OF HIM debuts in second with $18 million from 3,402 theatres for Universal Pictures, getting a 58% on the Tomatometer.
Third is undertone with $8.5 million from 2,570 theatres across North America for VVS Films/A24. It gets 76% on the Tomatometer.
Fourth goes to SCREAM 7 with $7.5 million from 3,243 theatres. This takes it to $105.6 million for Paramount Pictures.
Rounding the Top Five is GOAT with $5 million, taking it to $90.8 million for Sony Pictures.
