In-town to ring in the occasion was Steve Toussaint, who plays Lord Corlys Velaryon, head of House Velaryon and the most famous Seafarer in Westerosi history. The Series also stars Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, Paddy Considine and more.
Toussaint has built a résumé as a working Actor with roles in The Skins, Line of Duty, Doctor Who and It’s a Sin. The English Actor of Barbadian descent was all class appearing at the TIFF Bell Lightbox Premiere for House of the Dragon!

Celebrated Thespian Charles Dance is in Toronto working on upcoming Series Rabbit Hole. With a distinguished Résumé that includes work on acclaimed Films and TV Series like The Imitation Game, Aliens 3, Mank, The Golden Child, The Crown and Game of Thrones, Dance next can be seen in upcoming Netflix Series THE SANDMAN. His Co-Star Patton Oswalt was just here this past weekend too!
We randomly spotted Dance going out for a walk in the evening around Entertainment District. He always so amazingly nice to stop for some Snaps, appearing to be on a day off from filming.
Rabbit Hole centers on a private espionage operative fighting for democracy in a world at odds with misinformation, behavioural manipulation and a surveillance state. Hmm. Sounds like an actual thing. Executive Producer Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Butler Harner star as well. Series to arrive later this year on Paramount+.

Some new stills have surfaced from upcoming HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, which is set 300 years prior to Game of Thrones. The Series arrives on Crave in 2022.
Characters:
Emma D’Arcy as “Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen”: The king’s first-born child, she is of pure Valyrian blood, and she is a dragonrider. Many would say that Rhaenyra was born with everything… but she was not born a man.
Matt Smith as “Prince Daemon Targaryen”: The younger brother to King Viserys and heir to the throne. A peerless warrior and a dragonrider, Daemon possesses the true blood of the dragon. But it is said that whenever a Targaryen is born, the gods toss a coin in the air…
Steve Toussaint as “Lord Corlys Velaryon” (“The Sea Snake”): Lord of House Velaryon, a Valyrian bloodline as old as House Targaryen. As “The Sea Snake,” the most famed nautical adventurer in the history of Westeros, Lord Corlys built his house into a powerful seat that is even richer than the Lannisters and that claims the largest navy in the world.
Olivia Cooke as “Alicent Hightower”: The daughter of Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King, and the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms. She was raised in the Red Keep, close to the king and his innermost circle; she possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.
Rhys Ifans as “Otto Hightower”: The Hand of the King, Ser Otto loyally and faithfully serves both his king and his realm. As the Hand sees it, the greatest threat to the realm is the king’s brother, Daemon, and his position as heir to the throne.

We had the chance to sit-on some panels and even chat with some of talent appearing this year. Here are some highlights and memorable quotes:
JACK GLEESON, GAME OF THRONES
“People just love to hate me”, says Gleeson on his role as King Joffrey Baratheon on the record-breaking HBO series. The 24-year-old Irish actor adds “I just give ’em a hug and we are alright”, when people transfer their dislike of him on the show to him in real life. On whom he’d like to see take the throne on Game of Thrones, he chooses Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). “We need a woman to knock some sense into people.”.
JOE QUESADA, Chief Creative Officer, MARVEL ENTERTAINMENT
The Comic Book Writer, Artist and Editor from New York grew-up loving the likes of Black Panther, Daredevil, Punisher and The Inhumans. When he was brought-on to Marvel in the late ’90s, he admits he wanted most to work on these books. He tells us, “They were paying artists $14 per hour back in 1990!”. After being appointed CCO in 2010, he has helped transform Marvel Entertainment into the powerhouse it has become once again. He admits, “I am the luckiest son of a bitch in Comics right now.”.
STAN LEE, FORMER PRESIDENT AND CHAIRMAN OF MARVEL COMICS
The Marvel legendary is making his final Canadian appearance at Fan Expo 2016 and was a great sport appearing from start to finish. He spoke at his hotly-buzzed panel, reflecting back on his career. On the many iconic characters he has developed, he says “I really don’t have a favourite character. I love them all. I love Silver Surfer, I love Doctor Strange, I love Spiderman. I love them all. But every time I get asked the question I always say Spider-Man and the audience goes ‘yay’.”.
Of all the talented actors to bring his character to life on-screen, he reveals “My favourite actor is Robert Downey Jr. I asked him if anyone ever has called him Bob? He said sure you can call me Bob, Bobo. So now I call him Bobo.”.
ADAM WEST & BURT WARD, BATMAN
We all grew-up at some point watching the Batman live-action series of the ’60s. How amazing is it that Batman and Robin both were at Fan Expo Canada together this year in spirited fashion?
Ward, known best for his role as Robin gives his Co-Star West the highest praise. “There were a lot of fine actors who played Batman, but there’s only one Batman and that’s Adam West!“. West jokingly replied, “I deserve that!”. On some of the highly-physical work he did on the series, he kids “They took out a $3 million life-insurance policy on me and I’m convinced by the end of the show they were trying to claim it!”.
West, reflecting on Catwoman remembers, “She gave me a curious stirrings in my utility belt!”.
GILLIAN ANDERSON, THE X-FILES
Work has brought the The X-Files star back to the City to film, including upcoming series AMERICAN GODS. At her panel, she shed some light on her Agent Scully character saying, “She is quite square and I’m not, but I like her.”.
JOHN CUSACK, HIGH FIDELITY
The well-known Actor appeared in a package offer with his equally-brilliant sister Joan. While he is quite political on Social Media, he made an interesting analogy at his panel, “I see Twitter as curation and graffiti.”.
JOHN BARROWMAN, DOCTOR WHO/ARROW
The spirited Scottish-American Actor appeared at a hot ticket panel to thunderous applause. He tells his Fans, “If you don’t follow me you’re missing out on my fabulous life!”.
On his theatrical pursuits, he does say that his dream role on-stage would be Mac in Mac and Mabel.
MARK HAMILL, STAR WARS
The iconic Star Wars Actor made a rare appearance at Fan Expo this year and offered a VIP Experience to Fans and spoke at multiple panels. He tells his Fans, “This isn’t a show it’s an intimate conversation between thousands of my new best friends and me”.
On the upcoming continuation of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, he says “Gareth Edwards said five words to me that’s the biggest spoiler.”.
CHARLIE COX + ELDEN HENSON, DAREDEVIL
The two stars originally were to be joined by Marvel‘s Daredevil Co-star Jon Bernthal, although he was unable to make Fan Expo 2016 in the end. The duo spoke at a panel today and when asked which Marvel character they’d like to appear as a cameo on their series, Cox chose Black Widow. Henson however is a fan of Chris Pratt and would like to see his Star-Lord appear on the series.
A fun fact revealed is that the portrait on the wall at the 15th Precinct in the series is actual one of Stan Lee!
MAT FRASER + NAOMI GROSSMAN, AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAKSHOW
Speaking to our Justin Waldman and Siobhán Rich, the two stars of the popular FX Series reveal some personal details about their experience.
Fraser tells us about filming a bed scene with Jessica Lange, “Of course, she’s hugely attractive but when you’re acting you’re acting. […] She pulled me in close. She made it really intimate. She nailed the scene: she nailed the intimacy between two actors to make the scene believable. Because she is a star in every sense of the word.”.
Grossman talks to the series’ shorter seasons, stating “As an actor it’s amazing. Because with the exception of me everyone’s gotten a chance to play another role. So I hope to have that opportunity.”.
CHARLES MARTINET, MARIO
We enjoyed most our chat with charismatic Charles Martinet, who voices Video Game icon Mario.

Season Four’s release packs several interesting surprises including a Roundtable with all those Cast members who were killed off in that Season. And in celebration of its Video release, HMV Canada also is hosting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to win a replica of the Throne, valued at $30k!
Although technically we saw him a couple months back here in Toronto, this counts as our first time meeting Peter Dinklage! The brilliant Actor who has gained international popularity in recent years as Tyrion Lannister on HBO’s Game of Thrones and also X-Men: Days of Future Past as Dr. Bolivar Trask. The Golden Globe and Primetime EMMY Winner currently is in our City filming PIXELS alongside Adam Sandler, Kevin James and Josh Gad.
Sightings of Dinklage have been plentiful, but the often private Actor who has been seen most with his Wife Erica, has been to known to be private, often declining Photographs. After a Dinner Date with his Wife at a Café Boulud tonight, the Star was spotted on the streets and after stopping to pet a dog, he made a quick moment for Fans, politely offering to take a few Snaps.
I am beyond thrilled. Just look:
Recently presented at COMIC-CON, PIXELS continues to film in Toronto through early September.

In celebration of the release of Game of Thrones‘ Season Three on DVD, Stars Kristian Nairn and Isaac Hempstead-Wright, have arrived in Toronto to ring-in the occasion! The Thespians, who play Hodor and Bran Stark respectively, braved the slushy weather conditions to do a bit of promotion this morning, their day starting early in the east-end at CTV‘s CANADA AM.
Right in the nick-of-time, their super-skilled Driver got them to their Breakfast Television appearance at CITY afterwards, all full of smiles and extremely gracious to pose for some Fan Photos. Irishman Nairn in particular, seemed to enjoy the snow. Shortly after, the Duo head over to Global Television‘s The Morning Show to pre-tape an Interview to air soon. 14-year-old Hempstead-Wright meanwhile, is a bit of Sultan of Style in-the-making, wearing some awesome boots and his Sweater which looked like Halloween – the coolest!
In case you missed them, both Nairn and Wright will be meeting Fans who purchase Game of Thrones: The Complete Third Season at HMV with a qualifying Wristband. The Meet-and-Greet takes place tomorrow at 333 Yonge Street, 12:00 PM tomorow – Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Details here.
Also a Touring Exhibit featuring Pieces from Game of Thrones will take place in Toronto at TIFF BELL LIGHTBOX from Wednesday, May 14 – Sunday, May 18, 2014. More details to come.

Lightning strikes twice! We spotted Game of Thrones Star Kit Harington out and about in Toronto today. By total chance, some Fans and I spotted him driving by in his Mini Van, intently texting away on the Passenger Seat. The Actor, best known for his starring role as Jon Snow on the highly successful HBO Series, currently is in Toronto till July filming Paul W.S. Anderson`s Pompeii.
Harington dropped quickly for some Take-Out at Yorkville’s Yamato Japanese Restaurant – known best for its Teppanyaki (Iron Griddle) Cuisine – as his Driver waited for him around the corner. Fans will notice the Actor’s noticeably strengthened physique as he wore a form-fitting top and track pants. If you had any doubt about how he got there physically, now you know what he’s been eating! He even spotted me, coming over to shake my hand. A Gentleman and Class Act!
In addition to being seen on Game of Thrones, Harington next will appear on the Big Screen in Adventure-Fantasy, The Seventh Son, which hits theatres this October via Warner Bros. Also, he will be voicing the Dragon Prince in 20th Century Fox’s How to Train Your Dragon 2, in theatres June 2014.
We were among the first to spot Harington in Toronto last month. Click here for more on that.
