With the guidance of his father, Harry (Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. When it comes to the realm of online casinos, there are plenty of different phrases or jargon you have to get your head around. Whether it’s describing the certain hands that you can get in one of the many table games or whether it’s part of the terms and conditions of a certain promotion, There is a lot to get your head around if you are new to online casinos. And there are also different types of terms that refer to the websites themselves.
One such term you may have heard being bounced around is the term ‘real money casino’. But what does this term mean? Surely every single casino is a real-money casino? Or what else would you stake with? Well, if you’ve been asking yourself these questions, thankfully we’ve got the answer for you. There are plenty of real-money casinos, both land-based and online, in Canada.
Well, there are three different types of casinos. Traditionally, there used to just be two: real-money casinos and fun casinos. And to avoid complicating things, we will go through these two first. As the name suggests, fun casinos are there purely for you to have fun without making any financial gain. This isn’t to say that you can’t have fun at real-money casinos, though.
These types of casinos are also great for allowing you to get used to the rules of games and getting used to the features of some of the top online slot games that are available out there. If you want to look for a real-money casino, there are plenty of resources out there. You can easily find Ontario’s real money casinos from casinos.com by making a quick search on your fave search engine.
The only downside to fun casinos is that you don’t quite get that thrill that you get when you win real money. But, at the same time, there is also the added benefit that you don’t feel that pain or anguish when you have lost real money, whether it is on blackjack, slots, or even roulette. Whereas if you play at a real-money casino, of course you do indeed risk your own money, but at the same time, that can go one of two ways. If you win, you get that thrill that we all want to experience at an online casino; if you lose, you also have that feeling of anguish and missing out.
Another type of casino that has started to emerge on the market thanks to the advancements in blockchain technology is that of crypto casinos. These are much like real money casinos in the way that you are indeed playing for a real currency, but instead of it being a fiat currency such as £ or %, you are instead playing for cryptocurrencies. Common cryptocurrencies that are used online at these casinos include Ethereum and Bitcoin. And these are identical to real-money casinos in the way that you are indeed risking your own wealth when playing at these casinos.
Choosing which type of casino you want to play at all depends on what you want out of your experience. If you want to learn the ropes of certain types of online casino games that you’ve never played before or if you want to discover how the features and bonuses work on a particular type of online slot, then a fun casino is absolutely perfect for you. However, if you know what game you want to play and the rules of it, and at the same time, if you want to play for real money, then of course you should choose a real money casino.
The thing you need to remember if you’re playing at either a real money or a crypto casino is to keep an eye on your bankroll. You should only ever deposit into an online casino what you can afford to lose. And it’s essentially a form of entertainment so it’s vital that you remember this and always make sure that you have fun, regardless of what type of casino you’re playing at. You’re also going to want to make sure that when you’re choosing an online casino to play at, you ensure that they are fully licensed and regulated by an independent body such as the UK Gambling Commission.
To wrap everything up, hopefully this has explained to you what a real money casino is so that next time you see that term being bounced around online, you know exactly what it means. There are also plenty of other resources and support out there to help you understand other jargon that you’ll find in and at online casinos. And always make sure to enjoy yourself when you’re playing at an online casino, whether it’s a fun or free casino or whether you’re playing for real money.

Next comes one of the most talked about new dramas Doc, which is based on the global hit Italian series, starring Canadian actress Molly Parker as a driven, brilliant doctor who suffers a brain injury that erases the last eight years of her life and Scott Wolf recurs as attending physician, Dr. Richard Miller. Then, Hollywood Squares will have contestants taking “centre square” with Drew Barrymore who will anchor a board of celebrities in the classic game of tic-tac-toe. Beloved Global Original Family Law also returns for its 3rd season with more laughs, tears, and unforgettable legal cases as Abigail Bianchi (Jewel Staite) and the Svensson family’s story continues to unfold.
“This spring, Global experienced a reawakening and emerged with an incredibly successful season. Since mid-February, Global rose to #1 in core primetime*, delivering 11 of the Top 20 programs, more than any other network,” said Troy Reeb, Executive Vice President, Networks and Content, Corus Entertainment. “As we look ahead to Global’s 2024/25 broadcast season, our lineup is the best we’ve seen in years, and one that strikes the perfect balance of the familiar with the fresh. Loaded with star power, big franchise brands, and #1 returning hits to launch new buzzworthy series, Global’s TV offering is set to deliver an entertaining schedule that Canadians will not only be talking about, but watching week after week, all year long.”
NEW PRIMETIME SERIES FOR FALL 2024
One of the most hotly-anticipated new acquisitions coming to Global on Thursdays this fall is Matlock, starring Oscar® winner Kathy Bates as Madeline “Matty” Matlock, a brilliant septuagenarian who achieved success in her younger years and decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanour and wily tactics to win cases. Matty is assigned to Olympia (Skye P. Marshall), a senior attorney and key rainmaker with a thirst for justice. Olympia’s ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), the son of the head of the firm, is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills. As Matty endeavours to establish herself in her new high-stakes world, she works alongside the firm’s younger associates – the charismatic Billy (David Del Rio) and the uber ambitious Sarah (Leah Lewis).
Next comes NCIS: Origins, the latest installment in the blockbuster hit NCIS franchise. Airing Monday nights, NCIS: Origins follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) in 1991, years prior to the events of NCIS, and is narrated by Mark Harmon. In the series, Gibbs starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid).
The crime-solving doesn’t stop on Global with the latest addition to Wednesday nights, Murder in a Small Town, based on L.R. Wright’s acclaimed thirteen-book Karl Alberg series and stars Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk. It follows the titular character (played by Sutherland), who moves to a quiet coastal town, filmed in beautiful British Columbia, to escape the stress of big-city police work, but soon discovers that the seemingly idyllic town harbours dark secrets, and he must use his detective skills to solve a series of murders.
Then, big laughs are also on the Global schedule Monday nights with Poppa’s House, starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. Wayans stars as legendary radio host and happily divorced “Poppa” who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host (Essence Atkins) is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son (Damon Wayans Jr.), a brilliant dreamer who is trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband.

NEW PRIMETIME SERIES FOR MID-SEASON
Global’s mid-season lineup kicks off with Watson. Taking place a year after the death of his friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty, Dr. John Watson (Morris Chestnut) resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. Watson’s old life isn’t done with him, though – Moriarty and Watson are set to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century. Watson is a medical show with a strong investigative spine, featuring a modern version of one of history’s greatest detectives as he turns his attention from solving crimes to solving medical mysteries.
Then, Doc follows the hard-charging Chief of Internal Medicine Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker). After a brain injury erases the last eight years of her life, Amy must navigate an unfamiliar world where she has no recollection of patients she’s treated, colleagues she’s crossed, the man she loves, or the tragedy that caused her to push everyone away. Scott Wolf is featured in a recurring role as Dr. Richard Miller. An attending physician, Richard is uptight, ambitious, and afraid to admit mistakes.
Next up is the return of the iconic game show Hollywood Squares, which features two contestants playing tic-tac-toe to win money and prizes. The “board” for the game is a vertical stack of open-faced cubes, each occupied by a celebrity seated at a desk and facing the contestants. The celebrities are asked questions and the contestants judge the legitimacy of their answers to win the game. Award-winning actress and daytime’s #1 talk show host Drew Barrymore will take her place as the famed “centre square” answering questions for the contestants.
These new shows will air alongside Global’s returning mid-season hits including Family Law, NCIS: Sydney, Raid the Cage, and more to come.

Last night at Budweiser Stage, Burlington’s Walk Off The Earth took the stage for the third consecutive year and packed some energy to a crowd of 7,000. For my first time seeing the Canadian band, kicking off Canadian Music Week (other headlining shows included Deadmau5), I wasn’t entirely sure what I was getting myself into, but Sarah Blackwood, Gianni Luminati, Joel Cassidy, among others in the band came out in a video package, with a backstage vignette that played until they came out on stage.
Immediately wanting to get the energy running they promised three ukuleles to the three loudest and craziest fans, this certainly sent the audience into a frenzy for wanting a coveted ukulele. They played a mix of their own songs and covers (which seemed to be a theme of the night, more on that later though) and a wonderful collection of The Beatles classics.
Debuting their newest song Better at Love and near the end of the show, asking the crowd to do a flashlight wave moment to create “another viral TikTok” which had the entire crowd engaged and wanting to participate, sharing a moment with the band. The entire evening felt like a love letter to the city, enjoying the immense family feeling the crowd gave them, and this was all amplified by Gianni bringing up the fact that he remembered playing at The Rivoli (another Canadian Music Week venue) to only seven people in the crowd. Multiplying that audience by a thousand is certainly an impressive feat and the love and joy from the audience spoke volumes.
What made the experience extra special were the two separate performances from Luminati Suns as they got to perform their songs and Walk off the Earth songs which rang similar to a School of Rock vibe. Aside from the great show, the crowdwork, the Luminati Suns surprise performances, the opening of Mico and Taylor Acorn really got the crowd worked up and ready for when Walk Off The Earth finally would dawn the stage at 9 PM. A fantastic start to Canadian Music Week at Budweiser Stage.

“This Little Light” by The Rainbow Collective is out today via Hidden Pony Records/Universal Music Canada, along with the official music video. Comprising over 20 Canadian vocalists of diverse genres, identities, ages, races and genders brought together by singer/songwriter/advocate Theo Tams, The Rainbow Collective stands as a testament to strength, courage and pride. “This Little Light” is an anthem of hope that speaks to the struggles the 2SLGBTQIA+ community faces in an increasingly divided world. All proceeds from the song will support The 519 Community Centre’s Pay It No Mind Fund, which provides emergency financial aid to racialized Two-Spirit, trans and non-binary community members to cover essentials.
After facing months of homophobic messages and comments on his social media platforms, Tams wrote the song with Andrew (Marty) Martino and Liz Rodrigues. Tams recognized the privilege of having a support network he could turn to, but others around the globe aren’t so fortunate. It is a criminal offense to be gay in a third of countries in the world and 64 UN member states, and in six of these, being LGBTQ is punishable by the death penalty. In the U.S., Florida has passed a “don’t say gay” bill, making it illegal to talk about other sexual orientations in the school system. Alberta just passed legislation that directly puts trans/non-binary kids and teens in potentially unsafe environments.
Tams had originally planned to release the song as a solo single, but he felt compelled to expand his vision and began reaching out to fellow Canadian queer artists to join him in bringing the song to life. Soon enough, the Rainbow Collective was born.
“This is the story of all of us. We are artists. We are songwriters. We are queer and we are advocates in our community for the right to simply exist, to shine in the way we were all meant to,” says Tams. “I truly believe that every person who identifies under the rainbow umbrella will hear themselves in this song. We are up against some of the scariest legislature and proposed bills that we have seen in decades and all of this threatens not only our happiness but our safety as well. This song is an anthem, it is a message, it is a declaration, for every person who has ever felt silenced and pushed to the fringe of our society simply for being who they were meant to be. Some may feel silenced, but we are a whole collective willing to speak on their behaves until they have the confidence or find the safety needed to do so themselves. I want these kids and teens and young adults to know that being their authentic selves isn’t wrong; that they are enough, and worthy of a life of peace, happiness, respect and contentment.”
