This fire cannot be contained!  After much build-up, the Trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire finally has surfaced, getting a high-profile Premiere during tonight’s 2013 MTV Movie Awards, specially presented  by Liam Hemsworth.

The Follow-up to 2012’s massively successful  first Film in the Franchise follows Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) after they are de-throned of their riches earned from their victory. They must once again compete in the area, this time in the Quarter Quell.

A Box Office Home Run for Warner Bros.’ 42 this weekend, its release timed right for the beginning of Baseball Season earning $27.3 million from 3,003 theatres across North America.  The Biopic about Jackie Robinson from Director/Writer Brian Helgeland not only fared well among Critics with a 77% consensus on Rotten Tomatoes, but Audiences loved it, giving it a well-deserved A+ CinemaScore. This bodes well for its word-of-mouth in coming weeks and also, tomorrow is Jackie Robinson Day in the U.S., meaning even more buzz for the Flick.

Opening in second is eOne Films/The Weinstein Co.’s Scary Movie 5, the latest in the long-running Franchise, earning a non-disgraced $15.2 million from 3,402 theatres.  Critics panned it universally, garnering 6% on the Tomatometer and C- Cinemascore from Audiences.  Neither Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen nor Ashley Tisdale could save this.

Former Champ The Croods earns $12.9 million in its third week and to date the Animated Feature from 20th Century Fox has grossed over $142 million domestically.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation earns $10.5 million for Paramount Pictures in fourth, just ahead of last week’s number one Film in Evil Dead which slips to fifth spot with $9.3 million from 3,025 theatres for Sony Pictures.

Meanwhile, Oz the Great and Powerful continues to go on well in eighth with $4.8 million in ninth in its sixth week of release, ahead of Tyler Perry’s Temptation which slips to ninth in its third week with $4.4 million. a

In Limited Release and The Place Beyond the Pines, the latest from Director/Writer Derek Cianfrance who made a splash in 2010 with Blue Valentine, earns $3.8 million from only 514 theatres for eOne Films/Focus Features and likely will continue to expand in coming weeks.  Starring a phenomenal Cast including Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes and Dane DeHaan, the Drama is well-reviewed earning 81% on the Tomatometer.

Overseas, Oblivion starring Tom Cruise debuted big with $60 million grossed overseas and equally is expected to open big in North America, where it debuts next weekend.

Toronto officially welcomes another exciting new Production, this time with FirstTake Entertainment and Caramel Film‘s co-produced Dr. Cabbie’s Meter’s Running.   The Comedy, presented by Salman Khan Being Human Productions, features an eclectic Cast which includes: Vinay Virmani (Breakaway), Adrianne Palicki (GI JOE), Kunal Nayyar (Big Bang Theory), Lillete Dubey (Monsoon Wedding), Mircea Monroe (Change Up), Rizwan Manji (Outsourced) and Chris Diamantopoulos (The Three Stooges).

The official Synopsis for Dr. Cabbie’s Meter’s Running is below:

“An unemployed Doctor turned Cab Driver becomes a local Hero when he converts his Taxi into a Mobile Clinic. Dr. CABBIE is the heart warming journey of a young Indian Doctor who immigrates to Canada with the selfless ambition of healing others while beginning a new life in the land of opportunity. Dr. CABBIE disovers his true purpose and true love when he embarks upon this journey of a Doctor turned Cabbie.”

Production, based in Mississauga, takes place between April 10, 2013 through May 19, 2013.   eOne Films will be releasing.

A brand new Trailer for The Hangover Part III has just premiered and here we see the Wolf Pack get into all sorts of antics yet again in Las Vegas, with  more of a focus here on the destructive friendship between Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis).  Basically there are Roosters, Gunshots and somehow Bradley Cooper winds-up dangling on a rope made of sheets from his Hotel window.  Just your average Boys’ Night Out.

If Mariah Carey approves, I do too. Check-out this amazing performance from American Idol Contestant Candice Glover of The Cure‘s 1989 Hit Lovesong. Although covered prior by the likes of Adele and Tori Amos, Glover offers a fresh take with some innovative runs. All four Judges were on their feet and Keith Urban bowed to the 23-year-old Singer from South Carolina.  Could there be any greater honour than having glitter tossed at you by Carey?

Hilarious Nia Vardalos has returned to Toronto, this time to promote her new Book, Instant Mom.  Many of us know her from her unforgettable performance in self-written, Oscar-nominated My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Vardalos‘ Book details the Writer/Director/Actress’ experience as a Mother after adopting her Daughter Ilaria together with Husband Ian Gomez.  It includes innovative tips to take-on the challenges of becoming a Mom and also a How-to-Adopt section.

In addition to a busy morning of appearances including a visit to CTV‘s Marilyn Denis Show, City‘s Breakfast Television, she also will be co-hosting for two days straight on Global Television‘s The Morning Show.  She even learned how to make Sake Cocktails today, joking with the Mixologist, “You’re just making this up as you go, aren’t you?”.

I caught-up with the beautiful Vardalos as she was waiting on her ride away from the rain, next outfit in-hand.  In addition to snapping an awesome Photo together, we chat about my Blog quickly and she was excited for me to spread the word for her.   It’s always amazing seeing one of our v. own go on to do well abroad and returning home just as humble and genuine!

Fabulous news! Beyoncé has just been named Honourary Chairperson at next month’s Costume Institute Gala (also known as the Met Ball) at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art.  The annual Affair which sees Fashion and Hollywood’s A-List collide in an array of innovative outfits.

Last year, Mrs. Carter herself donned a stunning blue and black sequined, lace and feathery Givenchy Haute Couture Gown and this year joins the likes of Vogue‘s Anna Wintour as Co-Chair.  The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Star Rooney Mara Co-Hosts with Designer Riccardo Tisci.

I’ll definitely be out and about snapping some Photos at the Event and am terribly excited about returning to my second favourite City in the World!

The Met Ball takes place on Monday, May 6, 2013.  We’ll have a ball!
