I did miss them when they were gone. I really did! The hot new Trailer for PITCH PERFECT 2 is about to “break the Internet” – well at least my Internet connection anyway! The Ellen Show got an exclusive First Look earlier today! I must admit I couldn’t stop laughing at the some of the One-Liners, especially from Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson). Although there isn’t much a clue as to what new Music we’ll be hearing in this Sequel, one thing’s for sure – the laughs are back. Between The Hunger Games, directing this and being a Horse Racing Ambassador, we don’t know where Elizabeth Banks finds all the time and energy!
Official Synopsis:
The Barden Bellas are back and this time around, the film focuses on Beca (Anna Kendrick) and Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) as they navigate through their senior year. Emily Junk (Hailee Steinfeld), who’s a legacy thanks to her mother, joins the team. The team decides to enter the World Championships even though no team from the United States has ever won, due to the global bias against Americans. With graduation looming, the girls navigate the demands of their friendship, the Barden Bellas and the competition.

Not only is she basically in every single Movie imaginable, Elizabeth Banks is ready to try her hand at directing! Many don’t realize that Banks originated the idea behind Box Office Hit Pitch Perfect, taking-on the Producer role in addition to starring in the Film. This time around in the eagerly-awaited Sequel to the Musical-Comedy, she will be directing too as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter! I basically love her to death and the fact that she’s a Horse Racing Ambassador basically makes her the perfect Woman!
Made for only $15 million, the original 2012 Film went-on to make $115 million worldwide.
Original Stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson are said to be in talks to reprise their roles.

Miley Cyrus, One Direction, Selena Gomez, Pretty Little Liars, Glee and Pitch Perfect were among the big Winners at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards, held at Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles tonight. The Evening saw screams and also tears as Glee‘s Lea Michele highlighted the evening with a tearful Acceptance Speech honouring her late Boyfriend and Co-Star, Cory Monteith.
ABC Family‘s Pretty Little Liars won top honours tonight sweeping seven major categories such as Choice TV Show – Drama and Choice Summer TV Show, in addition to various acting categories with Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Janel Parrish, Ian Harding and Keegan Allen getting recognized for their work.
Upon accepting her Award for Choice TV Actress – Comedy for Glee, Michele touched the hearts of those in attendance and those watching on Television. She dedicate her entire Speech to Monteith, stating: “We were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached-out and became a part of our hearts and that’s where he’ll stay forever”.

Despite several speculating whether or not Cyrus is still in fact together with Fiance Liam Hemsworth, she laid the rumours to rest, accepting awards for not only Choice Summer Song with her major Hit We Can’t Stop, but also Choice TV Scene Stealer – Female for her work on Sitcom, Two and a Half Men and the CANDIE’S Fashion Trendsetter Award. In her Acceptance Speech, she stated: “I want to thank my Team, my Fans, my Friends, My Boo. Everyone who made this happen for me.”. The Stars have descended upon Toronto for the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards and while preparations are well under-way over at the Station’s Queen Street Headquarters with Soundchecks taking place throughout the day, several Guests and Performers are just now arriving. Others like Armin Van Buuren, Avril Lavigne, Phillip Phillips and more graced the stage today.
Meanwhile on the other end of the City, we were lucky enough to witness several of tomorrow’s Presenters arrive including the likes of Josh Bowman (Revenge), Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars), Kunal Nayyar (Big Bang Theory), Naya Rivera (Glee), Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars), Popstar Cody Simpson and this year’s MMVAs “It Couple” Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect, Hairspray) and Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf). The Avengers won top honours tonight at 2013 MTV Movie Awards held at Los Angeles’ Sony Pictures Studios, nabbing coveted Movie of the Year, in addition to Best Fight and Best Villain with British Actor Tom Hiddleston. The Blockbuster uniting various Marvel Superheroes, grossing over $1.5 billion worldwide has a Sequel on the way, scheduled for May 1, 2015.
Silver Linings Playbook not only won Jennifer Lawrence her first Oscar, but she always was awarded Best Actress as was her Co-Star Bradley Cooper, who earned Best Actor. Both currently are reuniting with Director David O. Russell on his latest as-yet-untitled Film, along with Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner with production taking place in Boston.
Although a Sequel is still in the works, the Cast of Sleeper Hit Pitch Perfect reunited on-stage at the beginning of the Show tonight, eventually going on to win Best Musical Moment. Star Rebel Wilson filled hosting duties tonight and dared to shock with some controversially over-the-top outfits including a double-nipple number.
In an odd turn of events, Funnywoman Aubrey Plaza crashed Will Ferrell‘s Acceptance Speech, wrestling his Comedic Genius Award out of his hand. It was learned that she later was ejected from the Venue for her behaviour, although it is said she purely behaved so as a Publicity Stunt for her upcoming Film The To-Do List. Point taken.
Fan Favourite The Twilight Saga of course didn’t walk away empty despite the Franchise having ended. Its Star Taylor Lautner was awarded Best Shirtless Scene.

If you aren’t a fan of Anna Kendrick, I swear this will win you over. The Oscar-nominated Actress stole our hearts with her amazing vocal talent in last year’s Pitch Perfect and here she is in a Funny or Die Sketch which has her joining Korean Pop Group F(x), a Quintet who have topped both the U.S. and Canada iTunes Electronic Album Charts.
The Sketch sees Kendrick sent off to Seoul by her Manager, to go through Girl Group Boot Camp of Song and Dance. Before you know it’s she’s mastering Korean and an Asian Pop Sensation with a legacy to share with her Grandchildren. “I look like I’m in Cloud Atlas“. Hilar.

A Pitch-Perfect way to kick-off the Long Weekend!
(Photo/video credit: Funny or Die)
Nothing broken about Breaking Dawn Part 2! The Finale in The Twilight Saga debuts this weekend with an outstanding $141 million from 4.070 North American theatres, closing-out what has been a phenomenal Run at the Box Office since it first surfaced back in 2008. Although performing exceedingly-well, it falls just-shy of its Franchise Record, set back in November 2009 with New Moon‘s opening weekend of $142 million.
Placing second this weekend is last week’s resounding Champ Skyfall, with $42 million from 3,505 theatres, tallying two weeks at a superb $160.3 million domestically. This latest James Bond Franchise Film, is on its way to surpassing the $600 million mark internationally for Sony Pictures.
Disney‘s Lincoln, which despite pulling-in an excellent $21 million it its expansion this weekend to 1,775 theatres, manages only to place third, while Wreck-it-Ralph, also from the same Studio, finishes fourth with $18 million – earning a total $121.8 million now in three weeks.
Pitch Perfect amazingly still hangs onto the eighth spot with $1.3 million, while Bollywood Flick Jab Tak Hai Jaan opens in ninth with $1.2 million in only 120 theatres. Sony Pictures’ Here Comes the Boom rounds out the Top Ten with $1.1 million.
Although it is no real surprise, Skyfall, the latest in the James Bond Franchise, opens in with some spectacular numbers this weekend. Opening in 3,505 theatres, the Action-Thriller earns $87 million in its North American debut after pulling-in amazing numbers overseas where it opened prior, already earning $321 million in those territories. This qualifies as the highest opening for the Franchise in Daniel Craig‘s time in the iconic Role, besting Quantum of Solace which opened in North America with $67 million back in January 2009.
Last week’s Champ Wreck-it Ralph still is going strong and Families are responding in droves, earning $33 million in its second weekend of release. In just two weeks, the Animated Feature from Disney has grossed over $90 million already.
Trailing in a distant third is Paramount Pictures’ Flight starring Denzel Washington, with $15.1 million from 2,047 theatres in its second weekend, just ahead of the amazing Argo in fourth with $6.7 million, now earning over $85 million in its domestic Run for Warner Bros.
The remainder of the Top Ten is rounded out by some Veterans, including Taken 2 in its fifth week taking-in $4 million, edging Pitch Perfect in sixth spot with $2.4 million. Former number one Film Hotel Transylvania, slips to tenths pot with $2.1 million. Sony Pictures just announced a Sequel is on-the-way for the Monster Smash.
Bubbling-under is Disney‘s Lincoln which earned a stellar $900k this weekend from just 11 theatres across North America, where screenings were sold-out almost completely. The Film is showing exclusively in Toronto at Varsity Cinemas and will continue to expand in coming weeks. Lots of Oscar buzz for Daniel Day-Lewis here; expect this one to be a Player in coming weeks.
