#REVIEW: KATY PERRY – “PRISM”
Remember when Alanis Morissette found her inner-peace on 1998's Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie after shocking and delighting our Pop senses with 1995's Jagged Little Pill? Admit it - you were a bit disappointed. I know I was. Katy Perry however, after catapulting Fans into a state of Euphoria with 2010's multi-Grammy-nominated Disc Teenage Dream, delivers a sense of lightness as she forges ahead in maturity on her latest offering, Prism.
Sonically, the Disc takes the grandness of ...

#REVIEW: “ROMEO AND JULIET”
We all know about Romeo and Juliet, the Classic Story pretty much becoming a compulsory study in High School English Classes across the Country. Director Carlo Carlei and Screenwriter Julian Fellowes join forces, uniting to bring the Story to a newer generation defined by Hannah Montana, Teen Vogue and Gossip Girl. This is not to imply though that this timeless Tale of Romance, Honour and Tragedy is in any way reduced in any form. Carlei manages to remain faithful to William Shakespeare, ...

#REVIEW: “MACHETE KILLS”
Either you want to give Machete a hug or you want to kill Machete. Fortunately for us, we're more the former. Although some might deem it unnecessary, Director/Writer Robert Rodrgiuez has managed to squeeze-out another Story about our favourite knife-wielding Mexican Superhero in Machete Kills.
In this Sequel to the well-received 2010 Film, we see Machete (Danny Trejo) wanted both dead and alive as he is enlisted by the President of the United States (Charlie Sheen) to take down a ...

#REVIEW: “12 YEARS A SLAVE”
Every once in a while a Film comes along which takes you so deep into dark and uncomfortable emotional territory that you literally walk away from it traumatized and shaken. Such is the case with the ever-powerful 12 Years a Slave, Victor of the People's Choice Award at TIFF '13.
After seeing this Drama based on the Autobiography by Samuel Northrup, one - I am convinced that Director Steve McQueen (Hunger, Shame) is incapable of making anything but a stellar Film and tw0 - I am ...

#REVIEW: “GRAVITY”
Review by: Jonathan Godfrey for Mr. Will Wong
Warner Bros.' Oscar Campaign continues this week with their release of Gravity. Alfonso Cuaron’s latest Passion Project is as ambitious visually as it is philosophically. Previously Cuaron worked on such Notables as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Children of Men. Like the latter Gravity is not only directed by him, but written by him as well. But much of that writing goes unsaid, as the dialogue is minimal and the Story-heavy.
Such ...

#REVIEW: “GIRL MOST LIKELY”
Although it took a good while to make it to us after its Premeire at TIFF '12, Girl Most Likely, known formerly as Imogene, finally sees a release. To manage our expectations however, it decidedly will get a modest limited release.
Although it certainly isn't on the level of the brilliant Bridesmaids in terms of wit, Kristen Wiig's many devout Fans will delight in seeing the Funnywoman carry much of the weight here as a once-promising New York Playwright paying her bills with a ...

#REVIEW: MILEY CYRUS – “BANGERZ”
All eyes are on Miley Cyrus and fourth Studio Disc Bangerz really is a make-it-or-break-it moment for the Multimedia Mogul in this her transitioning to a legitimate Adult Artist. And we know she's succeeding as increasingly we feel guilty for making Hannah Montana references when mentioning her name in the same breath. If you love Rihanna, you absolutely will get the current Cyrusian Era. The parallels musically speaking are obvious, like the Urban-Electonica-inspired Pop. The messages ...

#REVIEW: “BAGGAGE CLAIM”
Not only did David E. Talbert pen the Novel Baggage Claim, he also adapts the Screenplay and directs the Romantic-Comedy. Centering on the Eldest Daughter in her family, the gorgeous and available Montana (Paula Patton) is dead-set on not embarrassing her Mother (Jenifer Lewis), driven to find herself a Man in-time for her younger Sister Sheree's (Lauren London) big Engagement Party.
With the help of her sassy two BFFs Sam (Adam Brody) and Gail (Jill Scott) and their Airport Staff Friends, ...

#TIFF13: “ENOUGH SAID”
After much critical love with 2010's Please Give, Writer/Director Nicole Holofcener returns with another Winner in heartfelt Romantic-Comedy, Enough Said which premiered just recently at TIFF '13. With the distinction of featuring one of late James Gandolfini's final performances, the Film is a Gem in the Genre, making us wonder why it is despite her phenomenal success in Television, Julia Louis-Dreyfus isn't a huge Movie Star.
Enough Said centers on a divorced single Mom named Eva ...

#TIFF13: “DON JON”
We all know Joseph Gordon-Levitt's abilities as an Actor and even a Singer, but how about as a Producer, Writer and Director also? Don Jon is one of the 2013's hidden Cinematic Gems and those of us attending the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival are fortunate enough to see it first.
The subject matter on paper appears dark, but what we get here is something daring, uplifting and rather charmingly honest. Strappingly-magnetic New Jersey Bartender Don Jon (Gordon-Levitt) grapples with ...
