#REVIEW: “HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE LIVE IN CONCERT”
Review by Jonathan Godfrey for Mr. Will Wong
Harry Potter’s symphonic saga continues with the Goblet of Fire. The bi-annual concert series has hit its halfway point, and was attended last night by friends, families and fans of all four Hogwarts Houses. Costumes adorned many in the audience, but whether in wizarding robes or muggle attire, all were enthusiastic throughout.
This is understandable as the Goblet of Fire is one of the most enjoyable movies in the eight-part series. Directed by ...

#REVIEW: “CASINO ROYALE IN CONCERT”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
Until it was eclipsed by Skyfall in 2012, CASINO ROYALE was the biggest grossing James Bond movie in the series. Not only was it Daniel Craig’s debut in the title role, it was also a compelling, well-acted story that did not rely on gadgets and eye-rolling jokey double entendres. The action sequences continue to thrill and amaze, yet in this Movie they just felt more plausible and believable. To experience CASINO ROYALE IN CONCERT was truly ...

#REVIEW: “SLEEPING GIANT”
Review by Jonathan Godfrey for Mr. Will Wong
Canadian filmmaking continues to impress, and Cividino’s Sleeping Giant is a perfect example as to why. It’s a visceral look at the power of those fleeting summer friendships experienced by Canadian boys.
The Film takes place in and around Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. The narrative focuses on three adolescents: Adam (Jackson Martin), Nate (Nick Serino) and Riley (Reese Moffett). Adam is from a middle class family who has purchased a ...

#FIRSTLOOK: “DEE SNIDER’S ROCK & ROLL CHRISTMAS TALE”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
Despite a few hiccups during previews (which I have heard from a most reliable source) and quite a bit of tweaking from when this show was first staged in Chicago last year (this was told to me by one of the American financial backers I struck a conversation with), DEE SNIDER’S ROCK & ROLL CHRISTMAS TALE opened successfully without a hitch to an appreciative audience at the historic Winter Gardens Theatre where it will play until January ...

#REVIEW: “FULL HOUSE THE MUSICAL!”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
The biggest topic of conversation outside the Randolph Theatre before the curtains rose on FULL HOUSE THE MUSICAL! was whether its star attraction, gossip columnist Perez Hilton, could actually sing and dance. When he entered the stage, all buff and sporting bangs that made him look very much like Amy Roloff (from TV’s “Little People, Big World”), and warbled his first note, it was clear to all that he sounded like we all do – in the shower ...

#REVIEW: “HARPER REGAN”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
1996, I attended a screening at TIFF of a deliciously offbeat Canadian movie titled “Kissed”. Playing an embalmer in a funeral home who also dabbles in necrophilia, Molly Parker sizzled, justifiably winning a Genie (now the Canadian Screen Award) for best actress, and I have been following her career ever since. When it was announced that this remarkably gifted actress will “tread the boards” here in Toronto in a play written by the Olivier ...

#REVIEW: “CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL”
Review by George Kozera for Mr. Will Wong
Even before the house lights dimmed, the atmosphere at the Panasonic Theatre for the World Premiere of CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL was electric. Celebrities strutted on the Red Carpet including the likes of Shohreh Aghdashloo, Sarah Gadon, Natalie Brown, Damon Runyan, Katie Boland and more! The packed lobby was abuzz with local Media and Artists. Hot on the heels of yet another successful Toronto run of The Book of Mormon, everyone wondered how this ...
