Synopsis:
Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father’s global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he’s truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can’t understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death.

Going explicitly against his final wishes, she leaves everything she knows behind in search of her dad’s last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. But her mission will not be an easy one; just reaching the island will be extremely treacherous. Suddenly, the stakes couldn’t be higher for Lara, who—against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith and inherently stubborn spirit—must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown. If she survives this perilous adventure, it could be the making of her, earning her the name tomb raider.

The early 2000s saw Mya‘s star rise quickly. Singing the hook on 1998’s GRAMMY-nominated Ghetto Superstar alongside Ol’ Dirty Bastard on Pras, the R&B Singer would become known for hits like Case of the Ex, It’s All About Me, My Love is Like…Wo and Best of Me, before scoring a GRAMMY together with Lil Kim, P!nk and Christina Aguilera for their 2001 cover of Labelle’s Lady Marmalade. The Track topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for five weeks.

Since then Mya had a minor role in 2002’s Oscar-winning Best Picture CHICAGO and placed second on season nine of Dancing with the Stars, releasing music independently on her own Planet 9 label. She is in town this weekend to perform at TD Bank’s Black Diamond Ball celebrating accomplishments of Black Canadians, timed during Black History Month.

While visiting, Mya made the most of her time and did some TV appearances including CITY’s Breakfast Television, Entertainnent Tonight Canada, eTalk and Your Morning. We got to meet her and she was just as sweet as imagined and stunning in emerald green! She was even holding a Tim Hortons Roll-Up The Rim cup! 🍁

Guess what? It’s back and it’s coming aooner than you think! Season Two of SANTA CLARA DIET is set to stream on Friday, March 23, 2018 only on Netflix!

Synopsis:

In Santa Clarita Diet, Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore) are husband and wife realtors leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita with their teenaged daughter Abby (Liv Hewson), until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending their lives down a road of death and destruction…but in a good way.

Picking up right where we left off, Season 2 of Santa Clarita Diet finds the Hammonds trying to adapt to Sheila’s now-advanced undead state — even though she’s desperately working to hold on to her suburban lifestyle and not be defined as just another monster. Unfortunately — while the family has become markedly better at murder — the number of missing people in Santa Clarita is starting to pile up and it’s no longer going unnoticed. Meanwhile, the Hammonds are chasing the source of the virus so they can stop it from spreading and save humanity — which seems important. Through it all, Sheila and Joel are grounded by their unconditional love for one another. We had a chance to test drive this Chinese New Year and Family Day weekend, the compact and workmanlike vehicle in a thematically-fitting Milano Red, which rates high on value. Whether it be our ties to rural areas of southern Ontario or the bustle of our downtown life, the FIT gave us the gift of connecting with our loved ones this long weekend.

Equipped with a 1.5-litre, 16-valve, Direct Injection, DOHC, i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine, 128 horsepower @ 6600 rpm and 114 lb.-ft of torque @ 4600 rpm, the 2018 HONDA FIT LX displays a versatility for both urban and suburban driving.

With a combined highhway/city fuel economy of 7.4 L/100 km, plus and Eco Assist™ system, the car is as good for the environment as it is your wallet.

While we don’t often think of the HONDA FIT as being state-of-the-art in bells and whistles, it hits the mark in several places. We loved that it still has heated seating, a touch panel for audio, Honda Sync and navigation, plus a rear-view camera for reversing/parking. Its climate control with actual knobs and buttons is extremely user-friendly. Also, there are multiple charging ports which is all-important.

We love too that there is a thoughtful driver’s side cupholder and large wing mirrors that are handy. We can never have enough coffee.

Vehicle Stability Assist, side airbags and an intuitive Lane Departure System highlight some of the safety features here.

While we have been spoiled with some more luxurious offerings from the HONDA Canada family, we will say that we wish that features like keyless ignition, more audio speakers (the FIT comes with four) proximity unlock and being able to open/shut the hatchback via remote were native to the FIT LX. We cannot deny that starting at only $20,373 CAN that this can be overlooked.

DC COMICS’ SHAZAM is in full swing and we are seeing even more Cast additions arrive in Toronto for filming. While Asher Dov Angel who plays the leading role of Billy Batson in the Film, was busy promoting THE ANDI MACK SHOW Season Three in New York this Family Day weekend, his Co-Stars had a little family bonding of their own over an all-you-can-eat wings dinner at Hooters in the City’s Entertainment District.

We spotted the Film’s adoptive dad Cooper Andrews, known best for his work on AMC‘s The Walking Dead along with his screen wife Marta Milans (The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby), Grace Fulton (Revenge, Annabelle: Creation), Jovan Armand (The Middle) and Ian Chen (Fresh Off the Boat) out together for dinner with their own respective parents. Jack Dylan Grazer whom we spotted a few weeks back also was out with them! Coincidentally, we spotted the gang a bit later at Starbucks. The Barista who probably recognized their familiar faces asked them, “Are you guys from here?”. 🙄

They all head to historic Casa Loma after dinner. Action-packed!
