The global singing competition is hosted by Five-time BAFTA TV Award-winner Graham Norton. The panel lineup includes Multi-Emmy and GRAMMY® nominee Vanessa Williams; platinum-selling recording artist, three-time Emmy®-winning producer and judge of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Michelle Visage; American drag superstar Trixie Mattel and three-time GRAMMY-nominated global songstress Leona Lewis.

Hollywood Suite is celebrating the career of Canadian Filmmaking icon Norman Jewison later this month, November 19-21, 2021. His Films have garnered home 12 Oscars and six of his films can be seen again!
The celebration will kick off on November 19, 2021 with The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming (1966) at 9pm ET, followed by 1967’s groundbreaking In The Heat of The Night starring Sidney Poitier at 11:10pm ET, both on Hollywood Suite’s 70s channel.
On November 20 at 9pm ET, Hollywood Suite’s 80s channel will feature Best Friends (1982), starring Burt Reynolds and Goldie Hawn, followed by A Soldier’s Story (1984)at 10:55pm. You can catch Cher’s Oscar-winning performance in 1987’s Moonstruck at 9pm ET on November 21 on Hollywood Suite’s 80s channel before hopping over to the 90s channel at 10:45pm ET to be swept away in the 1994 romance Only You, which stars Robert Downey Jr. and Marisa Tomei.

Canada’s greatest in the literary world were honoured tonight in Toronto at newly-reopened Park Hyatt Hotel at the 2021 Scotiabank Giller Awards. The Awards recognize accomplishments of Canadian Authors domestically and abroad. The Gala was hosted by Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Kim’s Convenience) and Canadian Poet Rupi Kaur.
Winning top honours for the 2021 Scotiabank Giller Prize (worth $100k) was Author and Journalist Omar El Akkad for his novel, WHAT STRANGE PARADISE. The Book, published by Random House Canada, centers on a young Syrian boy named Amir rescued after his sunken dilapidated ship containing several people escaping their homelands, by a teenage girl named Vänna. The girl is determined to save the boy despite them not speaking a common language.

This year’s jury included Canadian authors Zalika Reid-Benta (Jury Chair), Megan Gail Coles and Joshua Whitehead, Malaysian novelist Tash Aw and American author Joshua Ferris.

Marvel Studios’ ETERNALS has a smashing debut, opening with $70 million from 4,090 theatres across North America. Directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, the star-studded opus which includes the likes of Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Richard Madden, Kit Harington and more, gets 48% on the Tomatometer.
In second is two-week champ DUNE, with $6.4 million from 3,546 theatres. In its third weekend out, it crosses the $100 million mark for Warner Bros.
NO TIME TO DIE is showing resilience, hanging-onto third spot with $6.1 million for Universal Pictures, a total $143.1 million over five weeks.
VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE takes fourth spot with $4.1 million, a total $196.6 million over six weeks for Sony Pictures.
RON’S GONE WRONG is fifth with $3.2 million for 20th Century Studios, a total $17 million grossed over three weeks.
Special note, Pablo Larrain‘s Festival Darling SPENCER starring Kirsten Stewart with $2 million from only 996 theatres for NEON/Elevation Pictures, placing it eighth in its debut. The Princess Diana Biopic centering on Christmas weekend before she decides to leave Prince Charles, gets 86% on the Tomatometer.
