Back in Action marks Cameron Diaz’s hotly anticipated return to film. Ten years after her retirement, she will star as a retired CIA spy who must return to duty after her secret identity is blown.

The film features a stellar cast, including Jamie Foxx, Glenn Close, and Andrew Scott. Releasing on Netflix on January 17th, it is sure to be the first big comedy action hit of the year.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is one of the most anticipated animated films in 2025. Featuring the voices of both Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey, it will surely please every fan of the hit TV show.

The film will also see the return of Doug Cockle (the voice of Geralt from the games). Set to premiere as early as February 11th, this animated film is expected to trend immediately upon its release.

Plankton: The Movie

SpongeBob fans rejoice—2025 will see the return of everyone’s favourite cast of undersea creatures. Plankton: The Movie is a comedy musical that follows the villain of the series as he attempts to take over the world.

Expect plenty of earworms and belly laughs upon release. Will he succeed? You’ll have to wait until later in 2025 to find out.

Frankenstein

Frankenstein is one of the most iconic characters in the entertainment industry. And while there’s been no shortage of adaptations, the upcoming retelling by Guillermo Del Toro is highly anticipated.

The story is set in the 19th century, forty years after Frankenstein’s monster died in a fire. With no official date yet, fans of the science fiction classic are hoping for a summer release in 2025.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

The Peaky Blinders remains one of the most iconic TV programs ever made. Throughout six seasons, the world fell in love with Tommy Shelby and his criminal antics in 1920s Birmingham.

Fans of the series will be delighted to know that Tommy is coming back in a new feature-length film. Set a few years after the explosive series finale, there’s no telling what trouble the Peaky Blinders will find themselves in 2025.

The Thursday Murder Club

Based on the best-selling book by Richard Osman, the Thursday Murder Club is a murder mystery with a twist. The film follows a group of amateur sleuths who are solving a murder and just happen to be living in a retirement home.

Happy Gilmore 2

Released back in 1996, Happy Gilmore cemented Adam Sandler as one of the world’s best comics. And 28 years later, it seems his character is finally coming out of retirement. #FIRSTLOOK: NEW CBC COMEDY SERIES “NORTH OF NORTH” ARRIVES JANUARY 7, 2025

CBC and APTN today announced that the highly anticipated new comedy series NORTH OF NORTH (8×30) will premiere in Canada on CBC Gem, CBC TV and APTN on Tuesday, January 7 with the first two episodes back-to-back, followed by weekly episodes. New episodes will be available to stream in Canada weekly on Tuesdays on CBC Gem starting at 9 a.m. ET, followed by broadcast on CBC TV at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT) local time and 9 p.m. ET on APTN. After its world premiere in Canada, NORTH OF NORTH will then launch globally on Netflix in the Spring of 2025.

Filmed in Iqaluit, Nunavut, NORTH OF NORTH is created, executive produced and written by Inuk writer and producer Stacey Aglok MacDonald (Qanurli, The Grizzlies) and Inuk filmmaker Alethea Arnaquq-Baril (Angry Inuk, The Grizzlies). The series stars Inuk actor Anna Lambe (True Detective, Trickster, The Grizzlies) as lead character Siaja, a young Inuk woman who dreams of reinventing herself in her tiny Arctic community of Ice Cove, a town where everybody knows your business. After a spontaneous — and extremely public — exit from her marriage, Siaja finds herself navigating the unpredictable, and often hilarious, highs and lows that come with relationships, motherhood, a new job, and finding your way.

Can you ever hear a difference!?! I’ve listened to this Album several times since it was released decades ago, and for the first time I hear a certain warmth in Mariah‘s tenor that I haven’t experienced in prior listens. This goes not only for Mariah‘s legendary vocals, but also the backing vocalists. You hear a ring in their voices that makes the listen extra festive, allowing you to access a new level of emotion in these songs.

This is a definite must-have if you’re a Mariah Carey enthusiast like me, and is now a treasured piece of my collection. Product ships December 13, 2024.
