A huge weekend at the Box Office as we head into U.S. Thanksgiving later this week! WICKED defies gravity at #1 with a stellar $117 million debut from 3,888 theatres for Universal Pictures. Not only this, this musical adaption gets a superb 90% on the Tomatometer. The Film was made for $145 million and is well on its way to recouping that quick.
GLADIATOR II also has a fantastic opening with $60 million from 3,573 theatres for Paramount Pictures. It gets a 71% on the Tomatometer. Its 2000 predecessory opened strong also with $34.8 million. This “GLICKED” one-two finish very much echoes last Summer’s BARBENHEIMER (Barbie and Oppenheimer) phenomenon, where a female-centric and a male-centric film went head to head in release, and filmgoers rooted for both as a duo/double feature.
Third goes to RED ONE with $13 million from 4,032 theatres for Amazon/MGM/Warner Bros. Over two weekends it has grossed $52.6 million domestically.
In fourth is historical drama BONHOEFFER: PASTOR. SPY. ASSASSIN. with $4.6 million from 1,900 theatres for Angel Studios. It gets a 51% on the Tomatometer.
Rounding-out the Top Five is VENOM: THE LAST DANCE with $4 million, a total five week run of $133.8 million for Sony Pictures.

Me and Karma vibe like that! I had been trying to land a single ticket to any of Taylor Swift‘s The Eras Tour shows in Toronto. Having been to most of her prior tours, I’d never have expected to have faced the roadblocks and limitations I did this time around. Let’s not even mention reseller prices! With a verification system that guarded those without a code from getting access to tickets, things seemed hopeless. I wasn’t one of the lucky ones last year when tickets first were released, to gain “verified” access, so you can understand my frustration seeing resellers snatch-up tickets in abundance. You’d think an easy way to verify a legitimate fan is to look at streaming data or merchandise purchases right? How about using that as a data point to determine who gets “protected” ticket access?
It was heartbreaking in the least to hear about last minute ticket drops that were happening, only to be greeted with a message on my Ticketmaster account that I did not have the necessary verification to purchase a ticket. ONE SINGLE TICKET.
I’ve always been of the belief that you get back what you give and when you do good for others, they will do that to you. One “Tayngel” who saw my struggles on Social Media getting tickets, randomly messaged me the other day early in the morning asking if was still manifesting tickets. You better bet!
Fast-forward one day later in which I found it incredibly tough to focus on anything as I was beaming with joy and excitement at the thought of finally getting to attend the Tour. I found myself in complete disbelief that I was actually there at Rogers Centre, with a great seat nonetheless.
I’ve never seen merchandise queues like the ones I’ve seen for this Tour. People queued up the stairs and lines coiled around multiple times just for a chance to buy a tour t-shirt, hoodie, sweatshirt or totes. Many of which already are sold out. Unless you want a size 4XL hoodie because by showtime that’s all that was left in some instances. This is the power of Taylor!
Having seen the concert film and already having a ball at that, I knew what to expect with this live show. Nonetheless, I was thrilled to see the just-added The Tortured Poets Department era added to the setlist, plus surprise songs are always cool to see unveiled! I do not know how Taylor does it. Three-and-a-half hours straight with no breaks and she still sounds great and looks like she’s got plenty left in the tank at the end of it all. We look more winded in the audience on our feet than she does, and she’s doing all the work!
THE ERAS TOUR is a cultural moment. To have the privilege of witnessing it in person is a flex the lucky ones who attended, will hold in their backpocket for a lifetime of stories. The communal experience of sharing mutual love and respect for one Artist, all with a very supportive and inclusive energy among the fans, is truly a remarkable accomplishment.
I fear Taylor really is closing a chapter with this Tour as she continues on her artistic journey. I can only hope we can witness the magic of these songs again in future tours again one day!

Apple TV+ today announced an early renewal for its highly anticipated new drama, “Your Friends & Neighbours,” and unveiled a first-look at the compelling nine-episode series from creator Jonathan Tropper (“See,” “Warrior,” “Banshee”) and starring and executive produced by Emmy Award-winner Jon Hamm (“Mad Men,” “Fargo”). “Your Friends & Neighbours” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, April 11, 2025 with two episodes, followed by one new episode weekly through Friday, May 30, 2025.
“I’ve had this show in my head for years, and making it has been a dream come true,” said creator and executive producer Jonathan Tropper. “It’s been an absolute thrill partnering with Hamm, along with Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie, to bring it to life. The support from everyone at Apple has been phenomenal, and the fact that they’ve ordered a second season before we aired our first is an incredible validation and a tribute to the work of this stellar cast, as well as the crew, writers, directors and producers who worked so hard to make this show what it is. We can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
After being fired in disgrace, Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Hamm), a hedge fund manager still grappling with his recent divorce, resorts to stealing from the homes of his neighbours in the exceedingly affluent Westmont Village, only to discover that the secrets and affairs hidden behind those wealthy facades might be more dangerous than he ever imagined.
Alongside Hamm, the series also stars Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Marie Gravitt and Donovan Colan.
Hailing from Apple Studios and produced by Tropper Ink, the series is created by best-selling author Jonathan Tropper, who serves as showrunner and executive producer under his overall deal with Apple TV+. Additionally, Jon Hamm executive produces alongside Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie. Gillespie also directs episodes 101-102. Additional episodes are directed by Stephanie Laing, Greg Yaitanes and Tropper.

Today, Disney+ announced that the critically acclaimed and heartwarming film “Blink” from National Geographic Documentary Films will premiere December 26, 2024 on Disney+ in Canada. The streaming service will feature a special English audio description version from launch, offering additional accessibility to audiences. The original version of the documentary will also be available on the platform with French subtitles.
The feature documentary from directors Edmund Stenson and Oscar® and BAFTA Award-winner Daniel Roher was released in over 250 theatres across the U.S. and Canada by Walt Disney Studios in October. Produced by Oscar and BAFTA Award-winners Melanie Miller, p.g.a., and Diane Becker, p.g.a., for Fishbowl Films, alongside MRC and EyeSteelFilm, “Blink” premiered at the 51st Telluride Film Festival going on to screen at Camden International Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, Hamptons International Film Festival and London Film Festival, among others. Releasing this holiday season, “Blink” is a film to be enjoyed with the whole family.
Hailed as “heartwarming” by Indiewire, “moving” by Variety and “profound” by Collider, “Blink” features French Canadian couple Edith Lemay and Sébastien Pelletier and their children, Mia, Léo, Colin and Laurent. Mia developed eye problems at the age of three and was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa at age seven, a rare, incurable disease that leads to severe visual impairment. When her younger brothers Colin and Laurent received the same diagnosis, the family’s world changed forever. In the face of this life-altering news, they decided to set out on a journey around the world to build their visual memory and experience all its beauty while they still can.
“We were so happy to see how “Blink” resonated with theatrical audiences of all ages this fall, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with National Geographic to bring it to Disney+,” said directors Stenson and Roher. “There’s no better home for this film, and we like to imagine that families across the world will huddle around their screens this holiday season and laugh, cry and explore the world with the endlessly inspiring Lemay-Pelletier family.”
“We are delighted to bring this heartwarming film to our television and streaming audience after its impactful theatrical run,” says Carolyn Bernstein, executive vice president of Documentary Films for National Geographic. “‘Blink’ is the perfect family-friendly film going into the holidays and embodies the spirit of adventure and exploration at the heart of the National Geographic brand. We can’t wait for audiences everywhere to be inspired by the remarkable Lemay-Pelletier family as they journey around the world and into an unknown future.”
Initially delayed by the global pandemic, the family revised their plans countless times before setting out in March 2022 without an itinerary. They worked together to compile a bucket list of destinations and activities that guided their travels, with no idea too out there: swimming with dolphins, hot air ballooning, surfing, seeing the sunrise on a mountain, and Laurent’s suggestion to drink juice on a camel. “We never found out where this crazy idea came from, but it was very dear to him and made us all laugh,” Lemay said.
The film follows the family over the course of a year as they traverse 24 countries, filling their visual memories with breathtaking locations and once-in-a-lifetime encounters. Their destinations included Botswana, Cambodia, Canada (Montreal and Kuujjuaq), China, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Laos, Namibia, Malawi, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, South Korea, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States (New York City), Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Maximizing their ground transportation, the family avoided flying as much as possible. One of their goals was also to meet people by staying in guest houses and homestays rather than hotels wherever possible. Throughout their journey, the family’s love, resilience and unshakeable sense of wonder ensure that their uncertain future does not define their present.
“Blink” features Edith Lemay, Sébastien Pelletier, Mia Pelletier, Léo Pelletier, Colin Pelletier, Laurent Pelletier, François Lemay and Pauline Sirois. The film is directed by Edmund Stenson and Academy and BAFTA Award-winner Daniel Roher. It is produced by Academy and BAFTA Award-winners Melanie Miller (p.g.a) and Diane Becker (p.g.a) for Fishbowl Films, in association with MRC and EyeSteelFilm. Co-producers include Ann Rogers and Christina Radburn, with Madison Horton and Kelsey van den Bergh serving as associate producers. Music is by Tamar-Kali, with additional music created by Hunter Hanson and Steve Wright. It is edited by Ryan Mullins and Miranda Yousef (ACE). Jean-Sébastien Francoeur serves as director of photography. Executive producers include Amit Dey and Eyesteel’s Bob Moore. Carolyn Bernstein serves as executive producer for National Geographic Documentary Films.
Since its inception in 2017, National Geographic Documentary Films has been lauded around the world for telling timely, gripping and globally relevant stories. It released the Academy, BAFTA and seven-time Emmy® Award-winning film “Free Solo,” the Academy Award-nominated and Peabody Award-winning “Bobi Wine: The People’s President,” the Academy and BAFTA Award-nominated and Peabody and DGA Award-winning “Fire of Love,” and the Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning film “The Cave.” In 2024, its slate included “Sugarcane” which has collected 17 awards at film festivals to date, as well as “Endurance,” which premiered in October at London Film Festival. In recent years, the film banner’s slate has also included the duPont-Columbia Award and two-time Sundance Award winner “The Territory,” BAFTA nominees “The Rescue” and “Becoming Cousteau,” Emmy Award winners “The First Wave,” “LA 92” and “Jane” and many other critically acclaimed features and shorts.
Award-winning multi-genre phenomenon Jelly Roll has released “Run It” today as the only original song for the third installment of the beloved franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Stream below via BBR Music Group/BMG/Republic Records.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3, from Paramount Pictures in association with SEGA Sammy Group, opens in theaters everywhere on Friday December 20, 2024. Advance tickets on sale November 25, 2024.
Jelly Roll notably co-wrote “Run It” with a powerhouse cohort of collaborators, including three-time GRAMMY® Award winner and OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, two-time GRAMMY® Award winner and superstar artist and DJ David Guetta, and GRAMMY® Award-nominated songwriter Sean Cook. Tedder, Guetta, and Cook co-produced the track as well. The song marks Jelly Roll’s first collaboration with Tedder and Guetta.
“Run It” showcases Jelly Roll’s versatility once again, striking a balance between country, pop, hip-hop, and electronic. Anchored by breezy acoustic guitar and handclaps, the song climaxes on a bright dancefloor-ready bridge and sunny refrain, “We gonna run it, run it, run it till we running out of road!” It’s an upbeat and undeniable anthem that’s as energetic as Sonic himself.
Be on the lookout for the premiere of an official music video to accompany the track soon.
It continues what has become a tradition of high-octane bangers tailormade for the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Sueco the Child teamed up for “Speed Me Up” in 2020 to accompany Sonic the Hedgehog, amassing 59 million-plus Spotify streams and counting. Meanwhile, Kid Cudi contributed “Stars In The Sky” to 2022’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2, gathering over 31 million Spotify streams. As such, Jelly Roll finds himself in good company.

ABOUT JELLY ROLL:
Award-winning, GRAMMY® nominated Nashville native singer/songwriter Jelly Roll (Jason DeFord) bowed at #1 on the Billboard 200 All Genre Chart for the first time with his acclaimed 2024 album, Beautifully Broken—which also earned the highest critical praise of his career so far from Rolling Stone, Billboard, Associated Press, NPR, and more. The release concluded his most successful year yet and followed his sold out Beautifully Broken Tour in arenas nationwide.
Just a year earlier, Jelly debuted Top 3 on the Billboard 200 All Genre Chart and #2 on the Top Country Album charts with his debut Country Album, Whitsitt Chapel (released June 2nd, 2023) – earning the biggest Country debut album in Billboard Consumption Chart history. Following his sweep at the 2023 CMT Music Awards where he earned three awards to become the most awarded artist of the night, the Billboard Country Power List Cover star and “country’s ‘most authentic’ new artist” (The New Yorker) received Billboard’s 2023 Breakthrough Award and the People’s Choice Award for Male Country Artist of the Year. Nominated for Best New Artist and Best Duo/Group Performance for “Save Me (with Lainey Wilson)” at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, along with eight genre-spanning nominations at the 2024 iHeartRadio Awards and a win for Best New Country and Pop artist wins, Jelly is one of three artists alongside Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs to have scored three Country Airplay #1s in 2023 and the first to do it with his first three singles. A 4X winner at the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards and the most nominated male at the 2023 CMA Awards, with five total nominations capturing his first CMA Award for New Artist of the Year, Jelly continues to break boundaries. His #1 hit single “Save Me” — a confessional, vulnerable expression of self-doubt— set the stage for his new season of life and took him to new heights including a Platinum certification from the RIAA on the heels of his 28-week reign at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. Most recently, “Save Me” earned Jelly his first ACM win for Music Event of the year, released his new album Beautifully Broken on October 11 and launched his Beautifully Broken Tour on August 27th following his seven consecutive #1 singles: “I Am Not Okay,” “Chevrolet” – Dustin Lynch feat. Jelly Roll, “Halfway To Hell,” “Save Me,” “Need A Favor,” “Son of A Sinner” & “Dead Man Walking.”
Not just an artist but a humanitarian, Jelly continues to resonate with fans on a global scale while racking up numerous milestones – from playing his sold-out hometown show for 18,000 fans at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to donating a recording studio at the juvenile detention center he served in as a teen, to the release of his record-breaking documentary by ABC News, “Save Me” – the most watched music documentary on the platform – to his visits with rehab centers and those incarcerated across the US. Featured by Nightline, GMA, GMA3, The New York Times, LA Times, The Tennessean, Billboard, Variety, American Songwriter, CMT and more, his self-built, unconventional industry rise and unique fan connection has garnered praise from numerous outlets, with Variety noting, “for everyone who’s facing the same struggles, Jelly Roll is their Springsteen,” and American Songwriter echoing, “with a string of accolades and an extremely dedicated following, Jelly Roll has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.”
