Both Game Theory Films (Canada) and Vertical (U.S.) will be releasing THE WIZARD OF THE KREMLIN on May 15, 2026.
Today, BritBox released first look images and announced guest stars for the second season of the highly anticipated comedy-crime drama Death Valley starring Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth, which will premiere later this year on BritBox.
Set and filmed in Wales, the unlikely crime solving duo make a welcome return as retired actor John Chapel and disarming Welsh detective sergeant Janie Mallowan, alongside returning cast Alexandria Riley (Helen Baxter), Steffan Rhodri (DCI Barry Clarke), Melanie Walters (Yvonne Mallowan) and Rithvik Andugula (DC Evan Chaudhry).
Season 2 picks up a few months after the events of Season 1. Janie has been promoted to Detective Inspector and is busier than ever, with paperwork stacking up quicker than she can clear it. To make matters worse, she’s been ignoring John since finding out he’s been dating her mum. Janie’s hand is forced after a murder in a Community Payback group when DCI Barry Clarke forces her to bring John Chapel in as the department’s consultant.
Season 2 sees John reluctantly re-enter the world of acting, on the set of an epic Welsh fantasy TV series, when the pair are called to investigate a murder. Will this foray into his old thespian passion ignite something once forgotten in John? One thing is certain, whether investigating a murder in a coastal fishing village, a sustainable commune or the competitive world of rugby, John and Janie will continue to bring justice to the mid-Wales region.
Guest stars featured in Season 2 include Jane Horrocks (Here We Go, Chicken Run), Hammed Animashaun (Black Ops, SNL UK), Alexandra Roach (Killing Eve, Bodies), Roisin Conaty (After Life, Last one Laughing), Mark Lewis Jones (Chernobyl, Baby Reindeer, Outlander), Jim Howick (Ghosts, Here we Go), Owen Teale (Game of Thrones, Line of Duty, Sandokan), Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing, The Cleaner), Lynn Hunter (Pushers, The End of the F***ing World), Rhiannon Clements (Small Prophets, Pushers), Mike Bubbins (Mammoth) and Liz Carr (Silent Witness, Good Omens).
Death Valley (6×45) is a BBC Studios Comedy in association with BritBox for BBC One and iPlayer. Written and created by BAFTA-nominated Paul Doolan with episode writers Sian Harries, Ian Jarvis and Nina Metivier. The series was ordered by Jon Petrie, BBC Director of Comedy and Nick Andrews, Head of Commissioning for BBC Wales. Commissioning Editors are Seb Barwell for BBC Comedy, and Paul Forde for BBC Wales. Season 2 is directed by Simon Hynd and Claire Winyard, Producer is Nikki Wilson, Executive Producers are Madeline Addy, Josh Cole, Paul Doolan and Timothy Spall. Additional funding support has been provided by the Welsh Government via Creative Wales and BBC Studios is handling global sales.
The first season of Death Valley is available to stream on BritBox.
Sin City is calling — and Oscar Isaac is ready to answer.
The Golden Globe-winning star, who can be seen most recently in BEEF S2, has signed on to star in and executive produce a new eight-episode Netflix series that explores the high-stakes world of Las Vegas casinos.
The currently untitled series hails from showrunners/executive producers/writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien (Billions, Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber), who are no strangers to the world of gambling. In fact, Koppelman and Levien made their screenwriting debut with cult poker thriller Rounders, and later wrote the Vegas–set heist thriller Ocean’s Thirteen.
The pedigree doesn’t stop there: The series will be executive produced by filmmaker Martin Scorsese, who explored the canyons of Las Vegas in his seminal classic Casino. Scorsese also executive produced HBO’s hit gambling drama Boardwalk Empire, set in the East Coast’s Las Vegas, Atlantic City.
Isaac’s role comes as part of a new creative partnership with Netflix, which will have first-look rights on film and series projects with Isaac and Elvira Lind, and Gena Konstantinakos’ production company, Mad Gene.
Isaac previously starred in Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-winning adaptation of Frankenstein, the new season of the Emmy-winning BEEF anthology, and the ensemble heist film Triple Frontier. He (and Martin Scorsese) will next be seen in Julian Schnabel’s In the Hand of Dante, coming to Netflix this year.
What is the untitled Vegas series about?
The hourlong drama is set in the high-stakes, sharp-elbowed present-day Las Vegas casino business, which is a modernized but still dangerous version of the legendary city. At the center of it all stands Robert “Bobby Red” Redman, president of the hottest hotel casino in town, who has to make some long odds moves to try and secure his position and take more ground.
Who’s in the cast of the untitled Vegas series?
Oscar Isaac (BEEF, Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year) will star in the series as “Bobby Red.” Stay tuned for more updates.
Who’s behind the series?
Koppelman and Levien serve as writers, showrunners, and executive producers. Other executive producers include Scorsese and Sikelia Productions, Julie Yorn and Rick Yorn for Expanded Media, Paul Schiff, Beth Schacter, Isaac, and co-executive producer Kerry Orent, and J.C. Chandor. Chandor, who previously worked with Isaac in Triple Frontier and A Most Violent Year, will direct the first two episodes.
When will the untitled Vegas series be on Netflix?
Keep your eyes on the roulette table for more information as the series enters production.

The series stars Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, and Poorna Jagannathan, with SNL comedy legend Fred Armisen joining this season. Also featured are Andrew Rannells and Kumail Nanjiani as recurring guest stars, alongside new guest stars Lilly Singh and Robin Thede, and returning guest star Tan France.
