If there was one Artist who dominated our airwaves this summer, it is Daya. The funny thing is, many of us still can’t put a face to the name of the 17-year-old from Pittsburgh with three consecutive smash hits already including Hide Away, Don’t Let Me Down (with The Chainsmokers) and of course, catchy current single Still Still, Look Pretty.
Check out Sit Still, Look Pretty below:
Daya made her first visit to Toronto headlining The Family Channel’s Big Ticket at Molson Amphitheatre, a commitment made likely before her star rose as quickly as it has. With her debut album coming October, she tells us, she will be embarking on her own headlining tour early 2017.
While doing very limited Press here in the City, she did make a stop-off at Global Television‘s The Morning Show (National Edition) for a quick chat before getting a little break from continuous touring.
Watch the interview:
We legitimately are a huge fan of Daya and look forward to her being a major force as she develops into a major Pop Star! On-top of it all she is so down-to-earth and week, amazingly nice to all Fans today as her entourage enjoyed seeing their star shine bright!
See our Snap:
We love to share and want to give Readers a chance to win a rare signed 8×10 (seen above) from Daya herself. You won’t want to miss this chance as mark our words, she is going to be huge!

Surpassing all expectations at number one this weekend is Warner Bros. Horror, DON’T BREATHE with $22.4 million for Sony Pictures, from 3,051 theatres. It gets an outstanding 87% on the Tomatometer from Critics and a B+ CinemaScore from Audiences. It was made for only $9.9 million.
SUICIDE SQUAD slips to second in its fourth week out with $$11.5 million for Warner Bros. from 3,582 theatres. Thus far in North America it has grossed $282 million.
In third is KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS with $7.2 million for eOne/Focus Features, a two-week tally of $24.1 million.
In fourth is SAUSAGE PARTY with $7.1 million for Sony Pictures in its third week out. It is about the surpass $80 million domestically.
MECHANIC: RESURRECTION debuts in sixth with $6.8 million for VVS Films/Lionsgate Films. Critics gave this latest installment in the Jason Statham franchise a 25% on the Tomatometer, while Audiences were much more forgiving with a B+ CinemaScore.
Rounding-out the Top Ten is BEN-HUR with $4.4 million for Paramount Pictures. It is about to surpass the $20 million-mark domestically in its second week out.
CL already is a huge star in the rest of the World, but the South Korean singer/rapper and frontwoman of 2NE1 finally is ready for her North American spotlight. Her new single Lifted is pure Summer, full of confidence and swagger. The backing vocals are impossible to get out of your head and we really think this is going to blow-up!
While the Track is causing quite a bit of a stir with her fanbase who feel the Track is too “western”, we think it is just great.

With the Olympic Games Rio 2016 coming to an end, Team Canada made their way back to Toronto last night and up and at ’em early today to talk about their experiences were 100 Metre Women’s Freestyle gold medalist Penny Oleksiak with Michelle Williams, Brittany MacLean and Sandy Mainville. The quartet started their day walking on-foot to their Breakfast Television appearance (where they munched on Tim Hortons goodies), before heading over to The Morning Show. Although there wasn’t much time for fan interaction, Oleksiak, Williams, MacLean and Mainville stopped for some Selfies with Fans after their last interview of the morning.
Also appearing at Breakfast Television was Dancehall legend Shabba Ranks, known best for his international hit Mr. Loverman. Having appeared on the show prior, he let us know he is appearing at Sound Academy Friday night at Timeless Classics’ Mavado Meets Shabba Ranks where both icons join each other on-stage for the first time ever!
With Dancehall legend #ShabbaRanks.

Academy Award nominee Mariel Hemingway has visited our City many times in the past but her latest was to spread a bit of positivity and inspiration with kids suffering from Arthritis, leading a Yoga Class with Camp Cambria. She appeared over the past couple days at both Breakfast Television and The Morning Show, among other outlets. Super-lovely!

Many raves are coming in about MANCHESTER BY THE SEA and several already are calling this a Best Picture contender even before its TIFF Premiere!
Synopsis:
In Manchester by the Sea, the latest Film from award-winning writer and director Kenneth Lonergan, the life of a solitary Boston janitor is transformed when he returns to his hometown to take care of his teenage nephew. The story of the Chandlers, a working-class family living in a Massachusetts fishing village for generations, Manchester by the Sea is a deeply poignant, unexpectedly funny exploration of the power of familial love, community, sacrifice and hope.
After the death of his older brother Joe (Kyle Chandler), Lee Chandler (Casey Affleck) is shocked to learn that Joe has made him sole guardian of his nephew Patrick (Lucas Hedges). Taking leave of his job, Lee reluctantly returns to Manchester-by-the-Sea to care for Patrick, a spirited 15-year-old, and is forced to deal with a past that separated him from his wife Randi (Michelle Williams) and the community where he was born and raised. Bonded by the man who held their family together, Lee and Patrick struggle to adjust to a world without him.
