We will never get enough of WILL FERRELL!! The Funnyman who surprised us at TIFF ’14 next can be seen in what seems like a litany of hilarity, GET HARD! See Kevin Hart school him on how to get ready for prison!
Official Synopsis:
When millionaire hedge fund manager James (Will Ferrell) is nailed for fraud and bound for a stretch in San Quentin, the judge gives him 30 days to get his affairs in order. Desperate, he turns to Darnell (Kevin Hart) to prep him for a life behind bars. But despite James’ one-percenter assumptions, Darnell is a hard-working small business owner who has never received a parking ticket, let alone been to prison.
Together, the two men do whatever it takes for James to “get hard” and, in the process, discover how wrong they were about a lot of things – including each other.

The accolades are almost universal for Bradley Cooper‘s work in Clint Eastwood‘s AMERICAN SNIPER and although we were intrigued by a Teaser we saw a few months back, this new Trailer is the real deal. And do we ever get it!
Official Synopsis:
U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with only one mission: to protect his brothers-in-arms. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and, as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname “Legend.” However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents. He is also facing a different kind of battle on the home front: striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the world.
Despite the danger, as well as the toll on his family at home, Chris serves through four harrowing tours of duty in Iraq, personifying the spirit of the SEAL creed to “leave no one behind.” But upon returning to his wife, Taya Renae Kyle (Sienna Miller), and kids, Chris finds that it is the war he can’t leave behind.

Just as we were getting excited to see THE INTERVIEW next week, this bit of disheartening news was announced today by a malice-plagued Sony Pictures. It was decided that the Assassination-Comedy will no longer be released on Christmas Day shortly following anonymous threat of 9/11-type attacks to theatres showing the Film. This follows several data dumps containing sensitive information from the inboxes of Sony Pictures Executives.
Read the Statement from Sony Pictures:
“In light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film The Interview, we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release. We respect and understand our partners’ decision and, of course, completely share their paramount interest in the safety of employees and theater-goers.
Sony Pictures has been the victim of an unprecedented criminal assault against our employees, our customers, and our business. Those who attacked us stole our intellectual property, private emails, and sensitive and proprietary material, and sought to destroy our spirit and our morale – all apparently to thwart the release of a movie they did not like. We are deeply saddened at this brazen effort to suppress the distribution of a movie, and in the process do damage to our company, our employees, and the American public. We stand by our filmmakers and their right to free expression and are extremely disappointed by this outcome.”
A new release date for THE INTERVIEW has yet to be determined, although our understanding is that a release altogether has been scrapped. This indeed is a sad day for Cinema and the Public in that we are yielding to threats and fear, going against the very fiber which our Nations are built upon.

It may have taken a while, but things are heating up quickly for British-born, American-based Actress Katherine Waterston, seen widely as a Contender in the Best Supporting Actress category. Best known for her work on HBO‘s Boardwalk Empire and a slew of Indie Films, Waterston was handpicked by Paul Thomas Anderson (The Master, Boogie Nights) in the breakthrough role of Shasta Hepworth in upcoming Awards Contender, INHERENT VICE.
Waterston was in Toronto promoting the new Film with only a select few outlets granted access to the Actress including interviews on CBC’s Q Radio, E! and eTalk. She also appeared at an invite-only screening of the Film at TIFF Bell Lightbox, which had some on Twitter comparing her performance to that of Rooney Mara‘s Oscar-nominated work in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. The statuesque and elegant Waterston was seen lunching at Parisian-style Hotspot Colette before flying out after an abbreviated stay.
We had the pleasure of meeting Waterston quickly, complimenting her on some of her winning and risky fashion choices on the Red Carpet thus far this Awards Season! See some of her jawdropping looks here and here.

The names Billy Magnussen and Mackenzie Mauzy may have you scrambling for the IMDB App on your phone, but come Christmas, millions around the World will fall in love with them. The two Actors are in Toronto for a two-day Press Tour in support of Rob Marshall‘s INTO THE WOODS, which is set to pull-in huge numbers at the Box Office.
Being fresh faces among a v. seasoned and well-recognized Cast surely isn’t an easy challenge, but the Pair who play the Prince and Rapunzel in the Brothers Grimm Pastiche strung together by the Music of Stephen Sondheim, actually are quite great. Fans of the Broadway Music on which this Film Adaptation is based and Movielovers will be delighted by some phenomenal performances by the likes of Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick, James Corden, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine and several more! And did we mention just how fantastic Streep is as The Witch? Even she flexes some new muscles here!
Mauzy who is most recognized for her work in Soap Operas like The Bold and the Beautiful and Guiding Light gets the opportunity to utilize her theatre chops and excels. Magnussen, whom we met while filming The Divide in Toronto earlier this year, is dashing here and expect big things to come as he appears in Steven Spielberg‘s still-untitled Cold War project starring Tom Hanks.
I caught up with Magnussen and Mauzy on one of their stopoffs, Global Television‘s The Morning Show, where they had a friendly couch chat with Liza Fromer. Despite being in a rush to leave, they still took time out to pose for a quick Photo and Mauzy despite her Handler being clear about her one autograph policy, was giving, signing as she walked her way to her Car.

You must see this hilarious sketch from self-professed “Guy’s Girl” Liz (Nick Kroll) from Comedy Central‘s The Nick Kroll Show! Somehow she thinks that James Franco and Seth Rogen‘s new Film The Interview is actually about an assassination attempt on Kim Kardashian. Yeah, no. You’ll just love her Publicity advice for the Duo. LOL.
It’s totally NSFW and you might get a bit queasy at the display of affection. You’ve been warned. Enjoy!

Known widely in the early 2000s as the Princess of Hip-Hop/R&B, Ashanti and Murder Inc. ruled the airwaves with an iron fist. Hits like Foolish, Happy, What’s Luv?, Rock Wit U (Awww Baby), Always on Time would go on to define a period of our lives. Although she now may be doing it on her own, Ashanti certainly hasn’t gone anywhere and she now is focusing on her latest – a second Holiday Disc, A Wonderful Christmas with Ashanti. This past week she appeared on ABC’s The View where repeatedly she was photographed on the street looking absolutely stunning.
Although she appeared to be fine in New York yesterday, the Singer and Actress arrived in Toronto being rolled-in on a wheelchair, incognito in sunglasses and a fur hat. Her Mother and Manager Tina ensured fans were kept a safe distance as she quietly was escorted into her SUV, where she rolled-down her window to sign autographs and we were lucky enough to get one Selfie with the GRAMMY Winner.
Ashanti is in Toronto to perform at FLOW 93.5‘s Big Night at The Guvernment tonight and also features performances from Toronto’s A-Game and The Airplane Boys.

Despite many Moviegoers being preoccupied with Holiday Parties and Shopping, 20th Century Fox still manages to debut on-top this weekend with Exodus: Gods and Kings by Director Ridley Scott. Made for $140 million, the Biblical Adaptation starring Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton earns $24 million from 3,053 theatres across North America. Critics panned the Film with a paltry 27% on the Tomatometer and a B- CinemaScore from Audiences who were more forgiving.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 still is going strong into the Holidays with $12.5 million in its fourth week out for eOne Films/Lionsgate Films. It just surpassed $276 million domestically.
The Penguins of Madagascar is in third spot this weekend, again for 20th Century Fox, with $7.1 million grossed. To-date it has grossed $58 million.
After a debut at TIFF ’14, Chris Rock‘s Top Five garners strong reviews in fourth with a stellar 89% on the Tomatometer and $6.8 million grossed from 979 theatres for Paramount Pictures. An expansion is likely in coming weeks for the Comedy.
Interstellar is in sixth spot this weekend with $5.4 million now in its sixth week out, for Paramount Pictures.
Wild rounds-out the Top Ten with $2.3 million earned from just 116 theatres, a stellar performance for the Fox Searchlight release which also premiered at TIFF ’14.
