Toronto’s Alex Elliott got a celebratory return home to Toronto after spending some time in L.A. Just as he arrived back, he learned that Hulu/YTV Series THE HARD BOYS, in which he stars as Joe Hardy, won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Children’s or Youth Fiction Program or Series. While we’re awaiting news of a third season, the Series continues to pick-up momentum and we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s here to stay for a while! Such a great guy! And he loved that I was rocking the merch!
Hit DC Comics Series TITANS began production on its fourth season late February and continues into the Summer in Toronto. Star Brenton Thwaites was spotted back in the City reprising his role as Dick Grayson/Nightwin/Robin. The Australian star was on a quick break from filming, returning back to work as his wife Chloe Pacey and three kids, remain back home. He was rocking two hats and was styling! Always nice seeing him, he’s so kind to fans.

Toronto got another special surprise last night thanks to the amazingness that is THE FAREWELL! DC Comics’ TITANS star Ryan Potter together with the organization GOLD OPEN, bought-out last night’s 8:40 PM screening of the Film at The Varsity in Toronto, bringing his Co-Stars out to enjoy the Film. Fans in attendance received the best surprise ever!
In attendance were:
Minka Kelly
Alan Ritchson
Teagan Croft
Joshua Orpin
Chelsea Zhang
Conor Leslie
Ryan Potter
We are too lucky to be blessed by this Film! The Cast were all so nice to us! Kelly was so sweet, she loved my H&M flamingo shirt, nudging Leslie, who supported the Film a second time, to check it out!
The Cast whom have been working on season two of Titans in Toronto, dealt with a bit of sadness losing a crew member last week, which halted production. Production has begun once again it’s great to see them all bonding together right now. The tragedy altered plans for them to make an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con last week, a key opportunity for them to connect with their Fandom. And I don’t think they realized how hungry Toronto fans have been to meet them!

If you haven’t seen outstanding The Farewell starring Awkwafina yet, it expands to more cities this weekend across Canada.
See the Trailer:
What a turnout! Toronto’s own Simu Liu, known best for his work on Kim’s Convenience, got a hero’s welcome home tonight. Just this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, it was unveiled that he was cast in Marvel‘s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Tings, in the titular role. The Film has him starring as the first ever Asian male superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
To support his Shang-Chi Co-Star Awkwafina in her acclaimed new Film directed by Lulu Wang, The Farewell, he invited his fans on Social Media to a free 9:30 PM screening tonight of the Movie of the Cineplex Varsity. The theatre is pulling-in the highest ticket sales for The Farewell in North America, in addition to already beating Avengers: Endgame‘s per-theatre average!
I’ve never seen a crowd like this ever at this theatre and I’ve been going here for years! Fans crowded both levels of Manulife Centre, queueing for a chance at a free ticket, courtesy of Liu and Gold Open, a movement which supports Asian-Americans in Film, buying-out theatres entirely. The movement was instrumental in helping propel CRAZY RICH ASIANS to #1 at the Box Office in North America last year.
Showing their support for Liu were the stars of DC Comics’ Titans, Ryan Potter and Conor Leslie!

As DC Comics’ TITANS nears a wrap in the City, we see some Cast return as production enters the home stretch. Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) and Alan Ritchson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) are back in Toronto to work on the Series, the former playing Dawn Granger/Dove and the latter playing Hank Hall/Hawk.
Flying-in together, both stars who looked remarkably-fresh after a five-hour flight, were gracious stopping for Selfies while walking to their vehicles.
The Series will stream on DC Comics‘ upcoming as-yet unnamed streaming service. Titans wraps mid-May.

As DC Comics’ TITANS continues to film throughout the City into May, the sightings also continue! Filming around Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market this past week, stars including the likes of Brenton Thwaites and Curran Walters have been spotted filming late into the evening. Together with some fans, we spotted the Actors on a break as they filmed a scene at a club. A manged vehicle and some propane were seen on-site meaning, suggesting some intense action.
As we know already, Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales) stars as Dick Grayson/Robin in the Series. Walters, who was seen recently in 20th Century Women alongside Greta Gerwig and Annette Bening, couldn’t confirm whom he will play although many fans online are speculating he will star as Jason Todd or Roy Harper. We’ll soon know we suppose!
Both Actors were amazingly-nice crossing the street to say “hi” and stop for photos with Fans. Thwaites, whose daughter Birdie just celebrated her second birthday we are told, held a cup of tea in-hand to stay warm and was a gentleman as we remembered him. Walters caught fans discussing whom he might possibly be playing and got a chuckle out of that! He tells us he is good friends with Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6), who plays Gar Logan/Beast Boy on the Series, hanging-out frequently.

TITANS, to be released on DC Comics‘ first-ever digital streaming service (still unnamed), wraps in May.

Australian Actor Brenton Thwaites has been in-town since late last year beginning work on DC Comics‘ latest television venture TITANS. The Series starring Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Gods of Egypt) tells Robin/Dick Grayson‘s journey to becoming a leader, coming out of Batman‘s shadow.
We spotted Thwaites recently at work on the Series which will be released in DC Comics‘ unnamed direct-to-digital service and he was amazing to stop after a long day of work. We were a bit confused as his stunt double in-costume came out the same time as him, unsure who to approach!
A first look at Thwaites as Robin surfaced in December and we must say, he looks amazing!
