President Coin (Julianne Moore) and most of the surviving tributes, with the exception of Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), decide collectively to let the Capitol have a taste of their own medicine by holding a final Hunger Games in which the children of Capitol leaders will be the tributes.
Katniss still wants the right to personally kill President Snow (Donald Sutherland) once he is captured, but when the moment comes, she makes a surprising decision, one for which she may pay the ultimate price.

Ignore those nasty Reviews, Audiences still v. much are in-love with TAKEN. In an opening as explosive as the Action the Franchise is known for, the Trilogy Finale starring once again Liam Neeson, takes-in $40.4 million for 20th Century Fox from 3.594 theatres. In comparison to its Predecessors, this latest Installment doesn’t quite eclipse the opening weekend success of 2012’s TAKEN 2, which brought-in $49 million in its debut. It does however surpass 2009’s first Installment, which opened with $24 million. Critics were unanimous in their snubbing with an 11% on the Tomatometer, but Audiences gave it a solid B+ CinemaScore. Made for $48 million, it looks well on its way to turning a profit.
Paramount Pictures‘ big Oscar Vehicle SELMA opens with $11 million from 2,179 theatres, Both Audiences and Critics alike agree that the Ava DuVernay Film is phenomenal, with an A+ CinemaScore and a matching 98% CinemaScore.

In sixth with $7 million is The Weinstein Co./Elevation Pictures’ THE IMITATION GAME which continues its Oscar Trail with a major piece of the puzzle in its fate being unveiled at Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards.
THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY, PART 1 rounds-out the Top Ten with $3.6 million for eOne Films/Lionsgate Films, now in its eighth week out and a dazzling $329 million grossed domestically to-date.
Despite many Moviegoers being preoccupied with Holiday Parties and Shopping, 20th Century Fox still manages to debut on-top this weekend with Exodus: Gods and Kings by Director Ridley Scott. Made for $140 million, the Biblical Adaptation starring Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton earns $24 million from 3,053 theatres across North America. Critics panned the Film with a paltry 27% on the Tomatometer and a B- CinemaScore from Audiences who were more forgiving.

Wild rounds-out the Top Ten with $2.3 million earned from just 116 theatres, a stellar performance for the Fox Searchlight release which also premiered at TIFF ’14.
Picking right-up where it left last week, THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY, PART 1 continues its Box Office domination through Thanksgiving weekend in the U.S., pulling-in $58 million across North America from 4,151 theatres. Debuting in second is the Animated Feature PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR with $26.2 million from 3,764 theatres for 20th Century Fox. Critics gave the Film 68% on the Tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes, while Audiences responded particularly well with an A- CinemaScore which should give it some legs to run on this Holiday Season. The fourth Film in the MADAGASCAR Franchise happens to be the lowest debut thus far in the Series, with Madagascar 3 earning $60 million in its 2012 debut. Benedict Cumberbatch, John Malkovich and Ken Jeong are among the talented Actors featured here.
BIG HERO 6 in its fourth week out earns $19.5 million for Disney, now bringing its tally to $167.9 million domestically.

There was never a doubt it would be Number One, but the question was by how much. THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY, PART 1 might be drawing some mixed reactions critically with a 69% on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer, but Fans still continue to love it giving it an A- CinemaScore. This latest Installment debuts across North America with $124.8 million from 4,141 theatres (including 900 alone in Canada) for Lionsgate Films/eOne Films, the lowest so far it the Franchise behind Catching Fire‘s $158 million debut in 2013.
