Hollywood Suite is creepin’ it real with another year of terror-ific favourites from their 2025 Shocktober programming lineup, on-air and on demand starting October 1. Two ghoulishly good premieres will lure folks into the spooky season: Hollywood Suite’s original series Cinema A to Z: Ghosts (2024) and Canadian Kourtney Roy’s Kryptic (2024).
Getting the gourd times rolling is a new installment of fang-favourite Hollywood Suite original Cinema A to Z: Ghosts. From family-friendly favourites like Casper (1995), to menacing terrors like Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), this episode, airing October 7 at 9 PM ET, will have viewers exercising their devotion to all things haunted alongside film experts like Rue Morgue editor and Faculty of Horror co-host Andrea Subissatti, TIFF’s Midnight Madness mastermind Peter Kuplowsky, and Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic and Fantasia International Film Festival programmer Carolyn Mauricette.
Also dying to join the lineup is Kourtney Roy’s Kryptic, a Canadian body-horror that follows a woman’s (Chloe Pirrie) search for a missing cryptozoologist, which leads to her own riveting cosmic quest for identity. Taking on folk tales and mixing them with a good thriller, this film warns that sometimes, when you go hunting for a monster, the monster finds you first. Kryptic is set to premiere on October 28 at 9 PM ET.
Additional Shocktober channel premieres include classics like Danny Boyle’s original zombie-horror 28 Days Later (2003), a new restoration of David Cronenberg’s Scanners (1981), and John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars (2001); as well as less scary but equally spooktacular favourites like Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands (1990) and Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park (1993).

Hollywood Suite is excited to announce a third season of the fan-favourite original series, Cinema A to Z. Launching September 2025, the new season features four new episodes: Growing Pains, Ghosts, Perfect Pairs and Robots.
Just in time for back-to-school season, Season 3 kicks off with Cinema A to Z: Growing Pains on September 10. From Annie’s rags-to-riches triumph to the heartbreak of My Girl, the laughs of Uncle Buck, and the perilous action of Jumanji, this episode takes film experts like Johanna Schneller (The Globe & Mail), Justin Decloux and Will Sloan (Important Cinema Club podcast), Radheyan Simonpillai (CTV’s Your Morning) and Rachel Ho (Exclaim!) on a trip through 26 tales of growing up.
“This season joins a collection of episodes spanning over three years, which have all been alphabetical love letters to cinema,” said Ryan Mains, Executive Producer. “Starting with the very first episode, Cinema A to Z: Books back in 2022, the series continues to be a favourite amongst Hollywood Suite watchers, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what films get added to the collection this year.”
The second episode in the season arrives ahead of Halloween. Featuring family-friendly favourites like Casper, menacing terrors like Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street, and even the hilariously raunchy Beetlejuice, Cinema A to Z: Ghosts will have viewers exercising their devotion to all things haunted when it premieres October 7.
Meanwhile, Cinema A to Z: Perfect Pairs, premieres November 5 and features iconic duos like Kirk and Spock in Star Trek, Iceman and Maverick in Top Gun, and Enid and Rebecca in Ghost World. Coming out early 2026 is the final episode of the season, Cinema A to Z: Robots. This episode includes segments on the robotic doppelganger in Metropolis, Murphy’s transformation into Robocop, and the suspiciously sinister “synthetic” Bishop in Alien.
This is the third season of Cinema A to Z on Hollywood Suite. Watch Hollywood Suite original content now at hollywoodsuite.ca/originals.
Oasis headlines Hollywood Suite’s August programming with the exclusive Canadian premiere of Oasis: Live at the City of Manchester Stadium (2005) on August 24, 2025. After splitting up in 2009, Canada welcomes the band on their record-breaking sold-out reunion tour next month. For those who didn’t score tickets, Hollywood Suite is bringing the concert experience to your home, alongside more exclusive Canadian film premieres on the channel, including Skeet (2024) and The Legend in Me (2024).
“We may not have been able to get tickets to the upcoming show at the new Rogers Stadium, but that doesn’t mean we don’t get to experience the excitement,” said Suzanne Marshall, Hollywood Suite Senior Manager, Programming. “Two decades since their Manchester concert, it’s time to amp up the nostalgia with a trip to Oasis Live in 2005.”
Following the release of their 6th studio album, Oasis: Live at the City of Manchester Stadium (2005) documents the band’s triumphant return to their hometown, Manchester, for the concert of a lifetime. Directed by famed music film director Dick Carruthers (Led Zeppelin Celebration Day, The Rolling Stones Bridges To Babylon), the film will premiere on the Hollywood Suite 2000s Movies Channel August 24 at 9pm ET.
Also premiering on Hollywood Suite is Skeet (2024), a drama film set in St. John’s, NL, about a recently released convict, Billy Skinner. Upon returning to his low-income neighbourhood, Billy, played by Sean Dalton of the Canadian rock band The Trews, finds that what was once a predominantly white neighbourhood is now mostly occupied by refugee families. Directed by Nik Sexton (Good People), the film has won and been nominated for multiple accolades, including the Canadian Screen Awards and the Atlantic Film Festival awards. It is set to premiere on the Hollywood Suite 2010s+ Movies Channel August 6 at 9pm ET.
The Legend in Me (2024) is a documentary following Chas Conacher, the great-grandchild of Canadian sports legend Lionel Conacher, and the challenges they face while exploring both the weight of their family’s star-athlete lineage and the evolving landscape of queer identity. Available exclusively on Hollywood Suite, the film will premiere on the Hollywood Suite 2010s+ Movies Channel+ August 27 at 9pm ET.
Additionally, on Hollywood Suite this August is the Summer of Stars collection, including titles starring Denzel Washington, Jane Fonda and more; Crime Wave featuring films from Scarface (1983) to Hot Fuzz (2007); and Rotten Tomatoes “Certified Fresh” movies like Wildhood (2021) and Singin’ in the Rain (1952).
Hollywood Suite is proud to be celebrating Queer cinema this Pride month, with LGBTQIA2S+ films and series all June long. As part of the festivities, Hollywood Suite celebrates the world premiere of the 6-part series Hell Motel (2025) with two exclusive events in Toronto featuring cast members Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, Departure) and Icesis Couture (Canada’s Drag Race S2).
“We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate Pride not only on our service, but also in-person and on the big screen this month,” said Suzanne Marshall, Hollywood Suite Senior Manager, Programming. “We invite everyone to come out and celebrate LGBTQIA2S+ storytelling with our Hell Motel events, and keep the party going at home with Queer film classics all month long on Hollywood Suite.”
On Friday, June 13, McCormack will join the cast and crew for an advance screening of Hell Motel at the historic Revue Cinema in Toronto, with public tickets available here. The series will also have its broadcast premiere on Hollywood Suite June 13 at 9pm ET. Following that, Hollywood Suite presents Too Hot to Die: A Drag Show from Hell on June 25th at 8pm at Storm Crow Manor in Toronto. Featuring an electrifying performance by Canada’s Drag Race winner Icesis Couture, who appears in the Hell Motel, the Storm Crow Manor event will also feature local drag artists Messy Margaret, Madee Lovegood and Sanjna. Tickets are available here.
Chasing Chasing Amy leads Hollywood Suite’s Pride month programming, with its broadcast premiere on June 4 at 9pm ET. A look at Queer filmmaker Sav Rodgers’ deep relationship with the Kevin Smith film Chasing Amy (1997), the documentary examines its complex legacy and how sometimes even problematic representation might change someone’s life. Earning a handful of awards and nominations, including Outstanding Documentary at the 2025 GLAAD Media Awards, the film has moved audiences around the world.
To get more into the spirit, Hollywood Suite will present Pride movie classics in June, including Personal Best (1982), Rent (2005), Booksmart (2018), and the premiere of Falling (2020) on June 26 at 9pm ET. Directed, written and starring Viggo Mortensen (Captain Fantastic, The Lord of the Rings), Falling follows the story of John Peterson, who lives with his partner Eric and their adopted daughter in Southern California. When he is visited by his aging father, who is searching for a place to retire, their two very different worlds collide.
The Pride party continues with the LGBTQIA2S+ classic But I’m A Cheerleader (2000), which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Director Jamie Babbit’s surreal conversion camp-set comedy started as a cult hit in Queer circles but, with passing time and the growing stardom of its leads, has become an iconic piece of 2000s satire. Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black, Poker Face) and Clea DuVall (Argo, The Faculty) star in the story about a clueless cheerleader sent to a conversion therapy camp to “cure” her homosexuality, where instead she discovers her true identity and falls in love. Hollywood Suite invites film fans to fall out of love and into the arms of a bad romance this February, with the exclusive Canadian broadcast premiere of Kim Albright’s dark comedy With Love and a Major Organ (2023) on February 25 at 9pm ET. For those who aren’t feeling the love this year, Hollywood Suite has curated a special collection of anti-Valentine’s Day films starring favourites like Demi Moore, Emma Stone, Sharon Stone, Michael Douglas, Ryan Gosling, Jennifer Aniston and more, available now on Hollywood Suite On Demand.
“Love isn’t always in the air; whether you’re feeling it or not, we’ve curated a lineup for everyone to enjoy this month,” said Suzanne Marshall, Hollywood Suite Senior Manager, Programming. “Kim Albright has created a fantastical world for the lovesick in With Love and a Major Organ that is both cynical and hopeful at the same time.”
The not-so-romantic Canadian film brings viewers into an alternate world where hearts are made of objects and suppressing emotions is self-care. A lonely woman, played by Anna Maguire (Violation), actually rips out her own heart for the man she loves, played by Hamza Haq (Transplant), only to discover that he has run away with it.
For a little more Valentine’s relief and the dark side of love, sex, and obsession, catch Clint Eastwood’s American Southern Gothic thriller The Beguiled (1971); Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone in the erotic thriller Basic Instinct (1992); and Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal in the revenge tale Nocturnal Animals (2016). Sweet romances turn sour in the dramedy Striptease (1996) starring Demi Moore; the Oscar-winning musical La La Land (2016); and the premiere of The Break-Up (2006) starring Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston.
While love sometimes does stink, romance is still in the air for some including the original rom-com It Happened One Night (1934). Directors may have mixed comedy and romance since the start of movies, but it was the friction between Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert in this Frank Capra film that made the genre an audience favourite. Available alongside this classic are contemporary romances including Four Weddings and A Funeral (1994); The Wedding Planner (2001) and Long Shot (2019).

With season two of Irish mob drama Kin, the ghost hunter comedy Don’t F**k With Ghosts, killer jeans (literally) slasher film Slaxx, and an apocalyptic premiere of a new episode of the Hollywood Suite original documentary series Cinema A to Z, the new year will kick off with some scary good times. These titles and hundreds more will be available on Hollywood Suite On Demand beginning January 1, 2025, with the first episode of season two of Kin available on January 4, 2025.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring a creepy collection of Canadian films to our platform and start the new year championing homegrown talent,” said Suzanne Marshall, Hollywood Suite Programming Manager. “We are also thrilled to be back with a new episode of Cinema A to Z, with our favourite experts delving into world-ending films that are sure to delight cinephiles and genre fans alike.”
The award-winning Irish crime drama Kin (2021), returns with the exclusive Canadian broadcast premiere of the second season on January 4 at 9pm ET. Starring Charlie Cox (Daredevil), the new season sees the Kinsella family thriving in the wake of a death when a new threat rears its head from within – in the shape of a ruthless, bullying, agent of chaos. Viewers can catch up on season one on Hollywood Suite On Demand now.
Hollywood Suite’s Cinema A to Z is back with a new episode premiering on January 1 at 9pm ET. Cinema A to Z: The Apocalypse brings together Hollywood Suite’s favourite movie experts to talk the end of the world with movies ranging from the first nuclear apocalypse on film with Five (1951), to the eerie aliens of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) and the totally wild and unexpected apocalypses from Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery in Knowing (2009) and Zardoz (1974).
Premiering January 3 at 9pm ET, is Canadian horror comedy Don’t F**k With Ghosts (2024) from writers, producers and stars Adam Rodness (Hemlock Grove, Shazam!) and Stu Stone (Donnie Darko, Faking A Murderer) and executive produced by Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Productions. Shot in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the film follows a filmmaking duo who are convinced they need to capitalize on the next paranormal phenomenon by attempting to prove that ghosts are real. The film will premiere alongside a night of programming curated by Adam and Stu, which will include their other titles Vandits (2022) and Faking A Murderer (2020).
Deadly, demonic denim is in style for 2025 with Montreal-born director Elza Kephart’s Slaxx (2020), premiering January 14 at 9pm ET. When a possessed pair of jeans begins to kill the staff of a trendy clothing store, it is up to an idealistic young sales clerk to stop its bloody rampage. Filmed in the remote North Shore region of Québec, the film stars Montreal native Romane Denis (The G).
With 21 film premieres, exciting exclusives and returning fan favourites, Hollywood Suite is starting the year off with a bang!
