Hollywood Suite is checking audiences back into Hell Motel, announcing a second season that transforms the limited series into an anthology. Currently in production, the instalment titled Hell Motel: Murder at Red Mountain marks the latest chapter from Slasher series creators Aaron Martin and Ian Carpenter. The new season will air on Hollywood Suite and be available On Demand in Canada, and on Shudder and AMC+ in the US.
Set at a mountain resort known for eliminating people’s inhibitions and amplifying their desires, Hell Motel: Murder at Red Mountain continues to reveal the chilling consequences of surrendering to our darkest impulses amidst the unique Cold River landscape. As guests and staff go missing without explanation and violent incidents increase, it becomes clear that Red Mountain has a long, horrific history for a reason—and that no one is safe.
Canadian actor Devon Sawa (Idle Hands, Final Destination, Casper, TV’s Chucky) stars as Patrick, a man with a thirst for alternative facts and theories who comes to the resort to look into historic mysteries tied to Red Mountain. Further casting is yet to be announced.
“When we were handed the keys for another stay at Hell Motel with Aaron Martin and Ian Carpenter, we checked in immediately,” said Sharon Stevens, Vice President of Programming, Hollywood Suite. “We’re always excited to bring high-quality, Canadian-made storytelling to our screens. Plus, it’s a real bonus to have Canadian fan-favourite Devon Sawa join the cast for this season.”
“I was already a huge fan of Hell Motel. So joining season two, in Canada no less, felt like an honour,” said Devon Sawa. “The amazing people at Shaftesbury assembled an incredible team of creatives. Thank you to them, Hollywood Suite, AMC, and of course, to all my friends over at Shudder.”
“The first season established Hell Motel as a standout series with strong potential for new stories and directions, so evolving it into an anthology felt like a natural next step,” said Christina Jennings, Chairman and President, Shaftesbury. “We’re proud to continue building this franchise with such strong creative partners at every level.”
