#FIRSTLOOK: FREE PREVIEW ON HOLLYWOOD SUITE STARTS DECEMBER 1

The wildly popular FREE PREVIEW on Hollywood Suite returns this year from December 1 to January 5, 2024 giving viewers across Canada unlimited access to all four of Hollywood Suite’s TV channels and Hollywood Suite On Demand on participating TV service providers.

The first season of the award-winning crime drama Kin will have its Canadian broadcast premiere December 7 at 9pm ET on HS00, with all eight episodes available on demand starting December 1. With a powerhouse cast including Daredevil’s Charlie Cox, Aidan Gillen, Ciarán Hinds, and Clare Dunne, Kin tells the story of a fictional Dublin family embroiled in gangland war and speaks to the enduring unbreakable bonds of blood. The second season of the series will be released on HS in January 2025.

Hollywood Suite original series A Year in Film also returns with five new episodes airing nightly at 9pm ET from December 9 to 13. The series goes back in time to explore artistic and technical achievements in film during 1968, 1972, 1981, 1996 and 2008.

The celebration continues with the 100th anniversary of legendary film studio Columbia Pictures! Every Sunday in December at 9pm ET, Columbia will take over all four Hollywood Suite channels with a specially curated collection of some of the most iconic films of the last 100 years.

Film fans can turn to Hollywood Suite for fashion inspo this November with the exclusive broadcast premiere of Cinema A to Z: Costumes. The popular Hollywood Suite original series continues November 7, 2024 at 9pm ET with a new hour-long episode featuring an expertly curated selection of iconic apparel in film. Dying to show itself during the month-long ghoul fest is the broadcast premiere of R.L. Stine’s Zombie Town featuring alums Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase. #FIRSTLOOK: HOLLYWOOD SUITE ANNOUNCE 2024 NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION PROGRAMMING

On September 30, 2024, Hollywood Suite will present a day of programming featuring Indigenous creatives and artists as part of the fourth annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Spotlighting the culture, history and perspectives of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, the programming will begin at 6:05am ET.

This year’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation lineup includes the dramedy Dance Me Outside (1994), Alanis Obomsawin’s documentary Incident at Restigouche (1984), environmental horror film The Beehive (2023), the period drama Black Robe (1991) and Zoe Leigh Hopkins’ Kayak to Klemtu (2018).

At the centre of the day of programming is APTN’s Remembering the Children: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2024, a 90-minute multilingual commemorative gathering created in partnership with CBC/Radio-Canada and the Algonquin Nation and broadcast live from Ottawa. The special seeks to honour survivors, pay tribute to the children who never made it home from residential schools, and deliver a safe and nurturing environment for reconciliation and healing.

Hosted by Earl Wood and Danielle Rochette, this year’s Remembering the Children will include powerful reflections from esteemed Elders and Survivors as well as moving performances by First Nations, Inuit and Métis artists.

#FIRSTLOOK: “THE BURNING SEASON” COMING TO HOLLYWOOD SUITE THIS AUGUST

There’s a new title igniting screens this month. Hollywood Suite is excited to announce the Canadian broadcast premiere of The Burning Season, directed by Sean Garrity and starring Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) and Jonas Chernick (My Awkward Sexual Adventure). The film will premiere on Hollywood Suite’s 2000s Movies Channel on August 20, 2024 at 9pm ET. It tells a story of hope set against a cycle of self-destruction through infidelity, betrayal and love.

Receiving acclaim across its festival and theatrical release, The Burning Season has been presented with various awards including Best Feature Film from the Writers Guild of Canada Awards, Best Screenplay at the Canadian Film Fest, and the Borsos Award for Best Screenplay at the Whistler Film Festival.

#FIRSTLOOK: BBC’S “WRECK” SEASON TWO COMING TO HOLLYWOOD SUITE

Hollywood Suite is pleased to announce the exclusive Canadian premiere of the second season of BBC horror comedy series Wreck, with all six episodes landing on Hollywood Suite On Demand June 1. Viewers can also tune in weekly on Thursdays at 9pm ET starting June 6, 2024.

Created and written by Ryan J. Brown, the second season of Wreck is set months after the first season’s shocking blood-soaked conclusion. We rejoin Jamie, Vivian and their found family of survivors back on land, as they strike back against Velorum, the corporate murder machine that claimed Jamie’s sister. In a daring and desperate attempt to bring the Company down, the gang go undercover to infiltrate Velorum’s newest venture – an exclusive wellness festival for millionaires in the remote Slovenian countryside.

TV veteran Alan Dale (The O.C., Ugly Betty) is among the new cast members for Season 2. Fight Club – Catch the best Fight Scenes from film history

All month long we’re showcasing the wildest, funniest and most brutal fight scenes committed to film. This romantic comedy didn’t get the audience it deserved when it premiered in lockdown but this story of two middle-aged Brits finding an unlikely relationship in spite of their complicated lives is a huge crowd-pleaser. TV fans will likely recognize Adeel Akhtar (Utopia, The Big Sick) and Claire Rushbrook (Home Fires, My Mad Fat Diary) but this role allows them to wonderfully explore the joys and pains of trying to start a relationship with baggage in tow. 

Mystery May – Hollywood’s most thrilling 

Nothing draws you into a movie like a good mystery and all month long we’ve got the clues you’re looking for to head down the rabbit hole. The 40th Anniversary of Hardbodies (1984)

Perhaps the Crown Jewel of ‘Movies That Couldn’t Be Made Today’ (shouldn’t?), 1984’s Hardbodies is cruising into middle age this month along with most of the 1980s sex comedy boom. While this film, originally produced for the Playboy channel but released theatrically, features plenty of sleaze keep an eye out for some of the biggest ladies in ‘80s Glam Metal as the band Vixen performs ‘Computer Madness’ between the jokes.

#FIRSTLOOK: HOLLYWOOD SUITE ANNOUNCE 2024 ASIAN HERITAGE MONTH PROGRAMMING

In celebration of Asian Heritage Month, Hollywood Suite is pleased to announce the world broadcast premiere of Lifesketch Media’s four-part series Potluck Ladies, directed, produced and co-written by Shazia Javed. The series will premiere on Hollywood Suite’s 2000s channel on May 1, 2024 at 8pm ET and will also be available on Hollywood Suite On Demand beginning May 1, 2024. The four-part series follows three newly immigrated South Asian women navigating their unique challenges in life while forming friendships that give them hope, companionship, and a little courage to break the rules.

The series stars Natasha Krishnan, Elisa Moolecherry, and Kavita Musty, with a score from Daniela Pinto and cinematography by Allen Liu.

Hollywood Suite is thrilled to announce the premiere of a new season of their original documentary series A Year in Film. Premiering Thursday, April 11, 2024 the fifth season will explore the iconic films of 1977, 1988, 1991, and 2002 as industry leaders and critics take a deep dive into topics such as New Queer Cinema, comedic box office hits, Canadian perversion, and renowned world cinema.

Whether it’s transporting film lovers to a galaxy far, far away, or completely changing the way we think of fava beans and a nice Chianti, the curated collection of cinematic touchstones will be explored by in-house experts Alicia Fletcher, Cameron Maitland and Emily Gagne, alongside some of Canada’s foremost authorities in cinema including horror maven Andrea Subissati, the Globe and Mail’s entertainment columnist Johanna Schneller, writer and culture critic Devan Islas, and film critic Courtney Small.

 A Year in Film: 2002
Explores Spider-Man, Chicago, The Bourne Identity, 28 Days Later, Adaptation and more. Premieres April 14 at 9pm ET on HS00
