Disney’s ENCANTO leads the Box Office a second consecutive weekend, taking top spot with $13.9 million from 3,980 theatres for a total $59.4 million over two weeks in North America.
In second again is GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE with $11 million in its third weekend out for Sony Pictures. It has grossed $103 million over three weeks.
Third spot goes to HOUSE OF GUCCI with $7.5 million for Universal Pictures, a two week tally of $34 million.
Marvel Studios’ ETERNALS lands in fourth with $4.1 million, a total $156 million over five weeks.
Taking fifth is CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG with $2.9 million for eOne Films/Paramount Pictures, a total $46.8 million over four weeks.
GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE scares aware the competition with a $40.5 million opening this weekend from 4,315 theatres for Sony Pictures. The third installment in the original Franchise gets 61% on the Tomatometer.
In second is Marvel Studios’ ETERNALS with $10.8 million for Disney from 4,055 theatres. Over three weeks it has grossed $135.8 million in North America.
Third goes to CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG with $9 million from 3,628 theatres for eOne Films/Paramount Pictures, a two week tally of $33.5 million.
Fourth spot goes to KING RICHARD, based on the life of Venus and Serena Williams‘ father Richard, with $6.5 million from 3,302 theatres for Warner Bros. It gets 92% on the Tomatometer.
Rounding-out the Top Five is DUNE with $3 million for Warner Bros., a total five week run of $98.2 million.
Marvel Studios’ ETERNALS takes the #1 spot at the Box Office a second consecutive week with $27.4 million from 4,090 theatres. In its two week run, it tallies-in at $181.7 million across North America.
In second this weekend is CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG $14.5 million from 3,700 theatres for Paramount/eOne Films. The Film opened Wednesday and has made $20 million already. Critics gave this 48% on the Tomatometer.
Third spot goes to DUNE with $5.6 million from 3,282 theatres for Warner Bros., a four week total of $93.2 million.
NO TIME TO DIE slips to fourth spot with $4.6 million for Universal Pictures, a six week total of $150 million.
Rounding things out in the Top Five is VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE with $3.7 million from 2,538 theatres, just surpassing the $200 million-mark for Sony Pictures.
Oscar contender BELFAST bows in eighth with $1.6 million from 580 theatres for Focus Features/Universal Pictures. Critics gave this 88% on the Tomatometer.
While it was to premiere at TIFF ’21, we can now confirm CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG now will see a November release in theatres!
Synopsis:
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple.
