It was a special night in Toronto last night as Ariana Grande not only brought her Sweetener Tour to Toronto’s Scotiabank Theatre, the second of two shows but she also celebrated her 26th Birthday in our City! While her parents Edward Butera and Joan Grande might not be together anymore, they joined together surprising Ariana on-stage to wish her a Happy Birthday! That was so sweet!

We are a huge fan of Grande‘s and her catalog of smash hits which she zipped right through with razor precision. We’re thoroughly impressed how effortless it was for her and how strong her voice was still by the end of the show, she’s definitely a star and we got exactly that.
See the Highlights:
As Security has been upped for Grande since her Manchester incident, fans experienced some delays getting their bags checked with her clear bag policy which saw several guests having the check-in their baggage. Queues also were large to buy Tour merchandise with a variety of sweatshirts and t-shirts available and in high-demand.
Normani, formerly of Fifth Harmony, opened the Show and put on a dazzling display despite having some audio issues.

Kicking-off this past Friday, the first of two weekends at Coachella 2019 kicked-off in Indio, California. With headliners Childish Gambino, Billie Eilish, 1975, Khalid and Ariana Grande, plenty of surprises were unveiled, including the latter’s surprise performance with ’90s Boy Band supreme, *NSYNC for a rendition of Tearin’ Up My Heart! Her star-studded set also included an appearance by Nicki Minaj despite some technical difficulties.
During the first weekend, zedd in his set brought-out Katy Perry for a performance as a surprise for their new single, 365.

2018 will go down as one of the best years in recent Cinema. While I’m not loving the current sound of what’s dominating the airwaves, there were a few Pop Gems that filled my heart and ears with joy. Those of you who are following me on Social Media know that my year was all about A STAR IS BORN. I had few expectations of it at the beginning of the year, but then came the Trailer in June and then came news of it premiering at TIFF ’18. Seeing it at the Festival, my year and life would be changed forever, single-handedly owning my two favourite realms, Music and Film. I am still not healed of the heartbreak I experience and can imagine what it’s like to be Lady Gaga or Bradley Cooper and carrying their characters with them after filming. If you still haven’t seen it, please do.
We loved the resurgence of the Musical with the likes of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Bohemian Rhapsody and Mary Poppins Returns performing v. well in numbers. The World needs a lift in spirits and these all came to save the day at the right time.
Music wise, we are ever-excited about Dua Lipa‘s blooming career and she has gifted us with several earworms which still stand the test of time at the end of year. While there wasn’t really a big single off it, Mariah Carey‘s critically-acclaimed Caution is definitely a smooth, cohesive listen. Cardi B‘s Invasion of Privacy gave us life in a big way this spring and likewise, there wasn’t one particular 2018 single which impacted us, the Album was on repeat for quite a while for us.
Here are my Best of 2018 Lists:
MUSIC
One Kiss – Calvin Harris ft. Dua Lipa
The Middle – zedd ft. Maren Morris
Electricity – Silk City ft. Dua Lipa
I’ll Never Love Again – Lady Gaga
Shallow – Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga
God is a Woman – Ariana Grande
Breathin – Ariana Grande
Lights Down Low – M△X
Nothing Breaks Like a Heart – Mark Ronson ft. Miley Cyrus
Youngblood – 5 Seconds of Summer
FILM
A Star is Born
Green Book
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
Crazy Rich Asians
Ben is Back
Love, Simon
A Quiet Place
Vice
The Favourite
Mary Poppins Returns

Slinky, sexy. We’ve waited a long time for new music from Ariana Grande and new Single NO TEARS LEFT TO CRY is gifted to us right in time for the weekend! Somewhat in the same vein as hits Be Alright and Into You from her Dangerous Woman Disc, with a bit of ’90s House Music meshed with current Pop sensibility and finished of course that signature emotional quiver in her voice.

2016 certainly was one for the books. I admit feeling terribly guilty every time someone claimed how horrible the year was when I secretly felt otherwise! Whether it be the amazing Films I saw, singling-out LA LA LAND, which I will say is the one of the finest to be released in the past decade, or songs on the radio – we love a return to strong melancholy melodies – the year gave us many memories to hold on to. And to think we used to scoff at Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and The Weeknd … now they’re on repeat on our Spotify account.
If there was a big name in town, we were there and this will be defined as the year we met our faves Gwyneth Paltrow, James Corden, Anne Hathaway, Taraji P. Henson, Rooney Mara and Emma Stone. We admit, we’re a bit mortified we’ll run out of heroes to meet!
And let’s not forget my love of horses. My travels to New York and California brought me together with icons like California Chrome, Beholder, Lady Eli and star of tomorrow, Classic Empire – the early favourite for May’s Kentucky Derby. My favourite horsey moment though? Meeting “Princess” aka A Pic by MrWill, my own namesake, for the first time back in February! I will miss her as she enjoys the sun and sand in Florida this winter, but look forward to her being a tough machine in the spring after her winter training.
Join me on a walk down memory lane one more time! And check back this weekend as we check-in with Team Mr. Will including Justin Waldman, Jon Godfrey, Dave Baldwin, Siobhán Rich, Amanda Gilmore + George Kozera as they give us their Best-Ofs!

It ain’t even Summer yet, but everyone knows that the Campaign for coveted SONG OF THE SUMMER usually begins well in advance. The culmination of some masterful Publicity and Promotion by the Record Label for complete Airwave Domination! We’ve kept our ears open and we love that Pop Music is making a return back to proper melodies and although bugs terrify us, we certainly aren’t afraid of an Earworm.
We’re noticing the Europeans completely are winning the Pop Music Game right now with several Transatlantic Imports like Ellie Goulding, zedd and Tove Lo having a major presence on-air, but longtime veterans like Flo Rida and Maroon 5 also are showing incredible longevity. New names like Andy Grammer, Echosmith and Tori Kelly are bringing that sunny West Coast vibe across the continent. Canadians Walk Off the Earth have a mighty-catchy Tune in Rule the World which could find success across the Border! It’s tough to say who will come out on-top but there surely are some worth Contenders!
Have a listen! Which of these Tracks will be Song of Summer 2015?
TOVE LO – TALKING BODY
TORI KELLY – NOBODY LOVE
MAROON 5 – SUGAR
ARIANA GRANDE – ONE LAST TIME
ANDY GRAMMER – HONEY, I’M GOOD
ECHOSMITH – BRIGHT
NICK JONAS – CHAINS
ELLIE GOULDING – LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO
FLO RIDA – GDFR
ZEDD FT. SELENA GOMEZ – I WANT YOU TO KNOW
WALK OFF THE EARTH – RULE THE WORLD
LUNCHMONEY LEWIS – MAMA

English Quartet RIXTON are in town after opening for pint-sized, venti-size-voiced Diva Ariana Grande. The Band is making the most of their stay in Toronto promoting debut Disc LET THE ROAD out now, before heading to the next stop of Grande‘s Honeymoon Tour in Pittsburgh.
Grande had the Internet buzzing after making a sharp fall performing BANG BANG last night at Air Canada Centre, but recovering gracefully!
See it below:
Consisting of members Jake Roche, Charley Bagnall, Danny Wilkin and Lewi Morgan, RIXTON came onto our radars last Summer with Top 20 Hit Me and My Broken Heart (a #1 Hit in the U.K.) and although they’ve come here a few times for Press, our timing was always off and finally I got a Group Snap earlier with the Boys today! Good Blokes. Loving their fashion-forward street look too!
Their day began with a performance on BT Toronto (click to see their amazing performance!) followed by a visit at Global‘s The Morning Show (Toronto Edition).
Loved meeting #UK Pop Sensations #RIXTON! The Boys are opening for #ArianaGrande on her #HoneymoonTour. New Album #LetTheRoad now out! @rixtonofficial A photo posted by Will Wong (@mrwillwong) on

Certainly one of the sexiest Tracks of 2014, Scarborough’s The Weeknd and Ariana Grande team-up on the bouncy LOVE ME HARDER, from the latter’s latest Disc My Everything. The Video for the Track, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, was just released and it’s cinematic and mysterious just like it sounds. Grande might drop a few jaws with the racy movements!
The Song is co-written by Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, Peter Svensson, Ali Payami, Ahmad Balshe and The Weeknd.
