When Rell’s beloved kitten, Keanu, is catnapped, the hopelessly straight-laced pair must impersonate ruthless killers in order to infiltrate a street gang and retrieve the purloined feline. But the incredibly adorable kitten becomes so coveted that the fight over his custody creates a gang war, forcing our two unwitting heroes to take the law into their own hands.

After a brush with death, Melvin decides to use his powers for good and clean up the streets of New Orleans with the help of his best friend/definitely-not-a-sidekick, Lucille (Eddie Griffin). We LOLed so hard at NEIGHBORS and you better believe we’re ready for NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING! Universal Pictures Canada + Mr. Will want to give Readers in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg and Edmonton a chance to see it first on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
Synopsis:
Returning stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne are joined by Chloë Grace Moretz for NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING, the follow-up to 2014’s most popular original comedy. Nicholas Stoller again directs in a film that follows what happens when the will of parenthood goes against the bonds of sisterhood.
Now that Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) have a second baby on the way, they are ready to make the final move into adulthood: the suburbs. But just as they thought they’d reclaimed the neighborhood and were safe to sell, they learn that the new occupants next door are a sorority even more out of control than Teddy (Zac Efron) and his brothers ever dreamed of being.
Tired of their school’s sexist, restrictive system, the unorthodox ladies of Kappa Nu have decided to start a house where they can do whatever the hell they want. When Shelby (Moretz) and her sisters, Beth (Kiersey Clemons) and Nora (Beanie Feldstein), find the perfect place just off campus, they won’t let the fact that it’s located on a quiet street stand in their way of parties as epic as the guys throw.
Forced to turn to the one ex-neighbor with the skills to bring down the new Greeks next door, the Radners—alongside best friends Jimmy (Ike Barinholtz) and Paula (Carla Gallo)—bring in charismatic Teddy as their secret weapon. If he can infiltrate the sorority and charm his way through it, the thirtysomethings will shutter the Kappas’ home. But if they think that their neighbors are going down without a fight, they have severely underestimated the power of youthful ingenuity and straight-up crazy.

Brooke Shields has been a household name for as long as I remember. As a young child, I remember my brothers fawning over her in Films like Blue Lagoon and Endless Love. In the early ’80s, the Actress/Model came to define the conventional standard of beauty, gracing the covers of fashion magazines around the world like Vogue. Starring roles on series like Suddenly Susan and Lipstick Jungle have introduced her to a newer generation of fans.
A Harvard graduate in French Literature who has managed to stay in the public spotlight for several years, Shields right now is focusing on her acting once again. She is in town promoting her latest TV Movie Flower Shop Mystery: Mum’s The Word from Hallmark Channel, to air on W Network Sunday, April 17, 2016, 7 PM in Canada.
Shields dodged fans all morning as she went from stop to stop on her tour, even going as far as to sneak out of her Breakfast Television appearance for a couple fans waiting outside. A tad late for her appearance on The Morning Show (National Edition), likewise she put her iPhone to her ear as she head into the studio when noticing fans. Again the Manhattan native opted a hidden exit leaving telling five fans she had to make it to her next appearance and that she didn’t have time.
She was however very friendly and animated at her The Morning Show appearance:

THE BOSS starring Melissa McCa0rthy debuts on-top with a close $24.4 million from 3,480 theatres for Universal Pictures. It gets an 18% on the Tomatometer and a C+ CinemaScore. Let’s be clear, McCarthy is the Box Office Queen despite what some might say and this year is only going to get better for her as blockbuster Ghostbusters hits theatres this summer!
After a two-week reign, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE slips to second this weekend earning $23.3 million for Warner Bros. To date it is just shy of the $300 million mark over three weeks.
In its sixth week, Disney‘s ZOOTOPIA is in third this weekend with $14.2 million. It also nears that $300 million mark.
MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING 2 earns $6.8 million in its third week out, inching closer to $50 million for Universal Pictures.
HARDCORE HENRY debuts in fifth with $5.1 million from 3, 015 theatres for VVS Films and STX, getting a TIFF ’15 Midnight Madness Award this past September. It gets 51% on the Tomatometer and a C+ CinemaScore.
EYE IN THE SKY rounds out the Top Ten as it expands to 1,089 theatres with $2.6 million, in its fifth week out earning $10 million for eOne Films and Bleecker Street Films.
The 41st annual Sovereign Awards took place in Toronto tonight at Woodbine Racetrack, honouring champions in Canadian Horse Racing for the year 2015. This year’s theme was Hollywood, the Red Carpet complete with its own Hollywood sign, movie theme songs introducing winners and giant Oscar statues to greet guests.
Taking Horse of the Year honours this year was three-time honouree this evening Catch a Glimpse, who took the important Grade II Natalma Stakes last fall before going on winning the Grade I $1-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Keeneland. The Mark Casse trainee owned by Michael James Ambler, Gary Barber and Windways Farm, also nabbed Outstanding Turf Female and Two Year Old Filly. It is a rarity that a horse as young as she wins Horse of the Year honours, making her accomplishment that much more impressive. Mark Casse himself would go on to win Outstanding Trainer a jaw-dropping eighth time, his daughter Camille accepting for him.
Eurico Da Silva won his third Outstanding Jockey title, noticeably emotional when watching a tribute for his late fan Alexandrea Tersigni, to whom he dedicated his 2015 season.
Frank Stronach and his Adena Springs also were notable winners taking Outstanding Breeder – they are based in Aurora, Ontario. Stronach Stables’ Queen’s Plate champion Shaman Ghost was honoured Outstanding Three Year Old Male.
Bear Stables’ Academic proved her popularity through Ontario and Western Canada, besting the boys in the Canadian Derby in addition to the prestigious Woodbine Oaks last year en route to a victory in the Outstanding Three Year Old Filly voting.
The ill-fated Miss Mischief shipped in from the U.S. last season to a couple significant stake wins including the Grade II Bessarabian Stakes. She won both Outstanding Older Female and Female Sprinter. The speedy filly had passed away over the winter after sustaining an injury.
Sam-Son Farm would go on to win Outstanding Owner, with Rick Balaz accepting. He acknowledged his children Mike and Lisa Balaz as being the future of the legacied stable, thanking the large team who help with operations.
Other major winners tonight included Interpol for Outstanding Turf Male, Are You Kidding Me for Outstanding Older Horse and Riker for Outstanding Two Year Old Male.

To say that British import Ricky Whittle‘s fanbase is ardent is an understatement. The Actor whom just parted ways with The CW‘s hit series The 100, quickly turned around and landed a starring role in upcoming Starz series American Gods. Whittle has not minced words in his opinion about a certain producer for cutting his story lines on that series and fans have been vocal, rallying in support of him.
American Gods centers on ex-convict Shadow (Whittle) who meets a mysterious man named Wednesday (Ian McShane) who seems to know more about him and his past than initially thought. Emily Browning and Sean Harris star also.
The Series begins production later this month in the City, running through the fall, with read-throughs beginning next week.
We spotted Whittle arriving with luggage in-tow, set for an extended stay. With a group of Fans waiting on him, he was beyond nice to stop and greet everybody individually. We know one of our readers Mel in Ottawa loves him dearly and we got him to do a quick shout-out!

12-year-old child actor Neel Sethi is a name to look out for. The New York-born emerging star makes his big screen debut in Jon Favreau‘s live action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling‘s The Jungle Book.
Sethi stars in the leading role of Mowgli, alongside a stacked cast including the voices of Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johnansson, Christopher Walken, Bill Murray, Lupita Nyong’o and Idris Elba. The late Gary Shandling also appears as Ikki.
The Jungle Book centers on a feral boy raised by wolves in central India. After his life is threatened with humans being banished from the jungle, he goes on an adventurous journey of self-discovery.
A dapper Sethi was out and about this morning doing press in the City and stopped for photos and autographs, well-cared for by his team (including his proud parents) who travelled in a Mercedes Sprinter! This is just a taste of what’s ahead for this bright young talent!
