Today, Disney+ announced that Original limited series “La Máquina” starring Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna and Eiza González will premiere with all six episodes on October 9, 2024 exclusively on Disney+ in Canada.

After a devastating loss, Esteban “La Máquina” Osuna (Gael García Bernal) is at a low point in his boxing career. Lucky for him, his manager and best friend Andy Lujan (Diego Luna) is determined to get him back on top. But when a nefarious organization rears its head, the stakes of this rematch become life or death. While struggling to mount a comeback, Esteban must also juggle his own personal demons and protect his family, including his ex-wife Irasema (Eiza González), a journalist who finds herself on a collision course with the dark side of the boxing world.

The series stars Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna, Eiza González, Jorge Perugorría, Andrés Delgado, Karina Gidi, Dariam Coco, and Lucía Méndez.

“La Máquina” is produced by Searchlight Television, and Gael García Bernal (“Y tu mamá también,” “Coco”) and Diego Luna’s (“Y tu mamá también,” “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “Pan y Circo,” “Andor”) banner La Corriente del Golfo, and will stream on Disney’s DTC platforms. Today, Disney+ debuted the official key art for the highly-anticipated return of FX’s “The Old Man,” which will premiere its second season on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT on FX, and stream the next day on Disney+ in Canada. The first two episodes of the eight-episode season will be available at premiere.

In Season 2 of FX’s “The Old Man,” former CIA agent “Dan Chase” (Jeff Bridges) and former FBI Assistant Director “Harold Harper” (John Lithgow) set off on their most important mission to date – to recover “Emily Chase” (Alia Shawkat) after she is kidnapped by “Faraz Hamzad” (Navid Negahban), a powerful Afghan tribal leader. With all three men claiming her as their daughter, Emily finds herself in an identity crisis that has dire implications.

As Chase and Harper fight their way to get to Emily, Hamzad is forced to make decisions that could endanger his family and the village he has led faithfully for a lifetime. “Khadija” (Jacqueline Antaramian), Hamzad’s sister and trusted advisor, is concerned about the path her brother has taken and what it will cost them. As the stakes get higher and more secrets are uncovered, “Zoe McDonald” (Amy Brenneman) makes surprising moves after having been drawn into a new world by Chase. Meanwhile, “Julian Carson” (Gbenga Akinnagbe) is disillusioned by his former role and finds himself at a crossroads with a path he hadn’t imagined for himself.

Power changes everything.

Today, the final trailer before the Season Two premiere of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power debuted. It reveals Middle-earth in the throes of discord, sown by Sauron, and the deception and manipulation that lead to the crafting of more of the titular Rings of Power. Unlikely alliances are forged amidst fire, and true friendships are tested. Dangers no longer lurk in shadow, but slither their way into the light.
