MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service and production company, is proud to announce that the latest film from US auteur Kelly Reichardt (First Cow, Showing Up), The Mastermind, will be available to stream exclusively on MUBI from December 12, 2025.
In a sedate Massachusetts suburb circa 1970, unemployed family man and amateur art thief J.B Mooney sets out on his first heist. With the museum cased and accomplices recruited, he has an airtight plan. Or so he thinks. Rich in textured detail, this sly depiction of an era subverts long-held illusions and confronts disillusionment.
The Mastermind stars Josh O’Connor (Challengers, La Chimera), Alana Haim (Licorice Pizza), John Magaro (Past Lives, First Cow), Gaby Hoffmann (Transparent, Girls), Bill Camp (12 Years a Slave, Joker) and Hope Davis (American Splendor, Synecdoche, New York). The film made its debut in competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and Reichardt has since earned a Best Director nomination and Josh O’Connor for Outstanding Lead Performance at the Gotham Film Awards.
Additionally, releasing in January 2026, The Mastermind from MUBI Editions is a beautifully designed box set comprising four booklets that document the making of Reichardt’s 2025 film. Through personal reflections, photographs, and fragments of memory and ephemera, Reichardt and her collaborators offer an intimate look into the craft, camaraderie, and attention to detail that shaped the project.
The collection features:
A critical essay by Lucy Sante
An exploration of artist Arthur Dove by Alec MacKaye of the Phillips Collection
Exclusive production photography
Striking reproductions of Dove’s work
Together, the materials build a richly textured portrait of the film’s world and its meticulous period design.
The Mastermind is the inaugural title in the MUBI Editions “Lights!” series, dedicated to MUBI’s own productions and releases. It follows Read Frame Type Film, the first book in the “Projections” series, published in 2025.

Souvankham Thammavongsa has been named the winner of the 2025 Giller Prize for her novel, Pick a Colour, published by Knopf Canada, taking home $100,000.
The announcement was made at an award ceremony hosted by the incomparable Rick Mercer. The ceremony was broadcast on CBC, CBC Radio, CBC Listen, and streamed on CBC Gem and the CBC’s YouTube channel.
The remaining finalists, listed below, will each receive $10,000:
● Mona Awad for her novel We Love You, Bunny, published by Scribner Canada
● Eddy Boudel Tan for his novel The Tiger and the Cosmonaut, published by Viking Canada
● Emma Donoghue for her novel The Paris Express, published by HarperCollins Canada
● Emma Knight for her novel The Life Cycle of the Common Octopus, published by Viking Canada
The longlisted and shortlisted authors, as well as the winner of the 2025 Giller Prize were selected by an esteemed jury panel: Dionne Irving (jury chair), Loghan Paylor, and Deepa Rajagopalan. On September 15, the jury narrowed down over 100 submitted works to a long list of 14 titles. The shortlist of five was selected on October 6, and just this morning, the jury met to select tonight’s winner.
Of the winning book, the jury wrote:
In Pick a Colour, a former boxer-turned-manicurist spends an ostensibly ordinary summer day at her salon, quietly navigating the tension between her outward anonymity and her sharp, deeply intelligent, inner life. In this exquisite novel, intelligence isn’t inherited through education, status, or privilege–it’s earned. With an inimitable style that decentralizes the English language, crackling wit, and profound confidence, author Souvankham Thammavongsa challenges our biases and insists that we never look at a nail salon, or its workers, the same way again. A master of form and restraint, Thammavongsa once again affirms her place as one of the most vital literary voices of our time.
Souvankham Thammavongsa is the author of four poetry books and the short story collection, How to Pronounce Knife, winner of the 2020 Giller Prize and 2021 Trillium Book Award. Her stories have won an O. Henry Prize and appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s Magazine, The Atlantic, The Paris Review, and Granta. Pick a Colour is her first novel.
Relive the winning moment by visiting GillerPrize.ca, CBCBooks.ca, or CBC Gem to stream the ceremony on demand.
Images from tonight’s ceremony will be available on the media resources page.
As part of the Giller Prize’s ongoing #BookTalk series, Toronto’s Union Hotel will host a ticketed event on November 18, featuring Souvankham Thammavongsa in conversation with author and journalist, Noah Richler.
For the seventh year in a row, the winner of the Giller Prize will be honoured at the San Miguel Writers’ Conference & Literary Festival in Mexico. Founded in 2006, the San Miguel Writers’ Conference is a premier international literary event set in the vibrant cultural heart of Mexico. Souvankham Thammavongsa will be featured at a marquee event in a one-on-one conversation including a short reading followed by a Q&A period with the audience. The event will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 4 to 5 p.m. local time.
As the winner of the 2025 Giller Prize, Souvankham Thammavongsa will receive a two-week writers residency in the Leighton Artist Studios program at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. This residency includes the use of a private studio, access to Banff Centre facilities including the Paul D. Fleck Library and Archives, and access to Banff Centre talks, events, and performances taking place during the residency.

“The Beatles Anthology,” Apple Corps’ landmark, UK-produced documentary series exploring the life and times of the most influential and beloved band of all time, as told by The Beatles themselves, will make its streaming debut exclusively on Disney+ beginning November 26. Beautifully restored and expanded from eight to nine episodes, the series offers an unprecedented and intimate view of The Beatles’ legendary trajectory and inner workings.
John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr take us along for the ride as they revisit the highs and lows and twists and turns of The Beatles’ long and winding eight years as a band. For Disney+, several elements of the series have been updated, including an incredible footage restoration and sound mix overseen by the Apple Corps production team working with the supremely skilled technicians at Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post in Wellington, New Zealand.
“The Beatles Anthology” joins several other iconic films and series from The Beatles on Disney+, including “Let It Be,” “Beatles ’64,” and the Emmy® Award-winning series, “The Beatles: Get Back.” All these can be found in The Beatles Collection on Disney+.
“The Beatles Anthology” Episode Nine is directed by Oliver Murray. Episodes One through Eight are directed by Geoff Wonfor, Bob Smeaton, and Matt Longfellow. All episodes are produced by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, Jonathan Clyde, and Martin R. Smith.

After an 18-month, $300-million transformation, TD Coliseum is ready to usher in a new era of live entertainment when it makes its debut with a sold-out performance by Sir Paul McCartney on Friday, November 21, 2025. Led by Oak View Group, the transformation of the 463,000-square-foot venue blends technology, design, and hospitality to deliver a one-of-a-kind, first-class guest experience in the heart of downtown Hamilton, ON.
To create a frictionless fan experience, guests can plan their visit in advance through the TD Coliseum Mobile App, using its virtual arena explorer, mobile ticketing, venue maps, and easy access to merchandise and premium experiences.
“TD Coliseum was reimagined for Hamilton and the guests who bring it to life,” said Nick DeLuco, Oak View Group’s Senior Vice President and General Manager for TD Coliseum. “Every improvement from the concourses to the clubs was designed to make attending a concert or event more enjoyable and memorable. TD Coliseum represents where live entertainment is heading, and we’re proud to deliver that next-level experience right here in the heart of Hamilton.”
Central to the success of the building is the many partners who have chosen to invest in the Hamilton community through a shared vision and collaboration. In addition to partner Live Nation Canada and naming rights sponsor, TD Bank Group, the arena boasts founding partnerships with Asahi Canada, Rogers, Seeing Red and Ticketmaster. Each organization is contributing their unique expertise and resources to enhance the project’s success. Together, these partnerships reflect a shared commitment to raising the bar on live entertainment, celebrating local culture, and delivering an unforgettable experience for every guest.

The arena also features The Iron Cow Public House, a full-service restaurant and bar powered by Matheson and operated by Our House H.C., which will be open to the public on event and non-event days.
