From the minds of Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman and John Hoffman comes a comedic murder-mystery series for the ages. “Only Murders in the Building” follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.

“Only Murders in the Building” hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman (“Grace & Frankie,” “Looking”). Martin and Hoffman executive produce along with Martin Short, Selena Gomez, “This Is Us” creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. The series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.

#FIRSTLOOK: STEVE MARTIN DOCUMENTARY COMING TO APPLE TV+

Apple Original Films has landed the new untitled two-part documentary film from A24 and Tremolo Productions featuring legendary writer, producer, director, actor and comedian Steve Martin (“Roxanne,” “Parenthood,” “Only Murders in the Building”), exploring his iconic life and career. The films are directed and produced by Academy Award winner Morgan Neville (“20 Feet from Stardom,” “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”). The co-production hails from A24 whose projects also include Critics’ Choice Documentary Award-winning documentary “Val” on iconic actor Val Kilmer, and Tremolo Productions, with projects including the Academy Award winning documentary “20 Feet from Stardom,” featuring the stories of backup singers to the biggest bands in music.

A24 will executive produce alongside Caitrin Rogers (“20 Feet from Stardom”) from Tremolo Productions.
This two-part documentary will be joining Apple’s acclaimed and award-winning documentary slate including docuseries and documentaries featuring the real-life stories of beloved stars including the four-part Earvin “Magic” Johnson docuseries “They Call Me Magic”; the Emmy Award nominated documentary “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry”; the Critics’ Choice Documentary Award nominated film “The Velvet Underground”; the upcoming documentary honoring iconic Academy Award winning actor, filmmaker and actor Sidney Poitier, “Sidney”; and the recently announced untitled feature film about the life of beloved actor and advocate Michael J. Fox.

Synopsis:

Following the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, Charles (Steve Martin, “Father Of The Bride”), Oliver (Martin Short, “The Morning Show”) & Mabel (Selena Gomez, “The Dead Don’t Die”), race to unmask her killer. However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue – the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny’s homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbors who all think they committed murder.

ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING arrives June 28, 2022 on Disney+.

#SNL: JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE DRAWS BIG LAUGHS FIFTH TIME HOSTING “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE”

So pretty much everyone on the Internet is raving about Justin Timberlake‘s fantastic fifth time hosting Saturday Night Live and despite the dependency on lewd humour, there never was a dull moment as he charmed his way through Pre-taped/Live  Sketches and Performances of his latest two Singles.

Timberlake started off tonight with a Cold Open, doing a parody of Elton John performing Candle in the Wind in memory of recently-deceased Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez.  “Goodbye Hugo C…”, he sang.  The Actor/Singer/Songwriter/Entrepreneur was joined also by Saturday Night Live Veterans, who like him previously hosted five times including Alec Baldwin, Tom Hanks, Chevy Chase,  Martin Short, Candace Bergen, Steven Martin and Dan Aykroyd.   The latter two even came back to reprise their roles as the sleazy Festrunk Brothers in a Dating Game Sketch enticing Vanessa Bayer, while  Timberlake and Andy Samberg  too tried seducing her with some raunchy ’90s-inspired R&B.  Think Dick in a Box, but like a fivesome.

Also brought back  was his Liquorville Sketch, which prior saw him perform alongside Lady Gaga.  This time around he dressed-up as a giant piece of Tofu promoting Veganism, with his own takes of Chic‘s Le Freak, Rihanna‘s We Found Love, Vanilla Ice‘s Ice Ice Baby with Vegan-friendly Lyrics.He capped it all off with his own take on Internet Viral Sensation The Harlem Shake but instead, The Vegan Shake.  Amazing!

With his third solo Disc The 20/20 Experience due later this month, Timberlake made us remember why it is we love him so with stunning renditions of Suit & Tie (joined on-stage by Jay-Z) and Mirrors, both drawing loud cheers, sounding impeccable backed by The Tennessee Kids Band.

Just when we thought the laughs weren’t big enough, a Video Sketch of a fictitious Series with Nasim Pedrad titled She’s Got a Dick, where Timberlake‘s Character has to come to terms with the Woman he loves having some “surprise” male anatomy.  Keenan Thompson also appears on the Sketch curiously questioning Timberlake about its size.
