Opening in 4,253 theatres this weekend, IRON MAN 3 is anything but a disappointment earning a stellar $170 million in its North American debut.  Already worldwide, this latest Installment in the wildly-popular Marvel Franchise, has earned $456 million.  Audiences responded extremely well, giving the Film starring Robert Downey Jr., Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce and Gwyneth Paltrow, an A CinemaScore. Despite mixed reviews for Pain & Gain, Director Michael Bay's latest Crime-Action-Comedy starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Mark Wahlberg, it still finds flexes its muscles on-top of the Box Office with $20 million from 2,950 theatres.  Made for $26 million, the Film easily is set to pay its bill for Paramount Pictures, earning 47% on the Tomatometer at Rotten Tomatoes and a C+ CinemaScore from Audiences. A Box Office Home Run for Warner Bros.' 42 this weekend, its release timed right for the beginning of Baseball Season earning $27.3 million from 3,003 theatres across North America.  The Biopic about Jackie Robinson from Director/Writer Brian Helgeland not only fared well among Critics with a 77% consensus on Rotten Tomatoes, but Audiences loved it, giving it a well-deserved A+ CinemaScore. #BOXOFFICE: “THE EVIL DEAD” FULLY ALIVE AT BOX OFFICE
Huge debut this weekend for The Evil Dead, opening in 3,025 theatres with a stellar $26 million.  In an interesting turn of events, this weekend there were two ties for second place and fifth place. The Sony Pictures/FilmDistrict Flick interestingly enough received fairly positive reviews from Critics (65% on the Tomatometer), although Audiences responded not as well with a C+ CinemaScore.
