MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL debuts atop the Box Office with $26.3 million from 4,224 theatres for Sony Pictures. Franchise best still belongs to 2012’s MIB3 opening with $54 million. This installment which introduces Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth, gets 24% on the Tomatometer and a B CinemaScore.
THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2 still goes strong in second with $23.7 million from 4,564 theatres for Universal Pictures. Over two weeks it has made $91.9 million in North America.
In third is ALADDIN with $17.1 million, four-week tally of $263.8 million domestically for Disney.
SHAFT debuts in seventh with $$7.1 million from 2,952 theatres for Warner Bros. It gets 35% on the Tomatometer and an A CinemaScore.
LATE NIGHT makes its Top Ten debut in ninth with $4.7 million for Amazon Studios/eOne Films, expanding to 2,218 theatres. It gets an 81% on the Tomatometer and a B+ CinemaScore.
MA rounds things out with $3.8 million for Universal Pictures, a three week total of $40.5 million.
It’s been nine years since we’ve heard from the $1.9 billion-worldwide-grossing TOY STORY Franchise, but the gang is back and we’re ready for some new adventures in TOY STORY 4. This latest installment centers on Woody (Tom Hanks), who must take care of his new kid Bonnie (Madeleine McGraw) and her new self-made toy Forky (Tony Hale). After Woody and Forky are separated on a road trip, the former goes on a mission with friends new and old, to bring him back to Bonnie. Together we learn how big a place this world is for a toy.
See the Trailer:
In Toronto to ring-in Toy Story 4‘s Canadian Premiere is Primetime Emmy Award winner Tony Hale (Veep, Love, Simon) who voices soon-to-be fan favourite, Forky. He tells us all about his journey with the eagerly-awaited Blockbuster.
We ask Hale about how he came to be involved with Toy Story 4.
Hale: “I feel like I had the imposter theory and that someone’s gonna figure out they made a mistake”, he jokes. “I heard they were interested in me. The cool thing – as a side bar – is the first Toy Story started in 1995 and that was the year I moved to New York to become an actor. I remember seeing the Movie and thinking, ‘Gosh, this Animation is on another level. I never thought I’d be a part of this Franchise, but they brought me up to Pixar, which is this creative wonderland, and then they just started describing Forky to me. They were like, ‘We thought of you, he has this neurotic energy’, and I was like, ‘check!‘.”.
“The cool thing about Pixar is that they create this family community environment. They really broke down not just how simple he looks, but also how he sees the world so simple and I thought of my daughter when she was four or five and she just had so many questions. And just constantly absorbing one thing after the other.”.
Hale tells us about the importance of his character.
Hale: “I love the message. I think the whole journey from seeing himself as trash, to come along and realizing he has a bigger purpose than that, he has value and I thought, ‘What a beautiful thing to put out into the world’.”. He adds, “Everybody has a tremendous purpose and I love being a part of it.”.
We ask Hale about the very prominent featuring of a Canadian Stuntman character, Duke Caboom and working with Keanu Reeves.
Hale: “He’s the nicest guy and he’s so hilarious in this Movie. It’s the way he brings his swagger to the character that contrasts with these very sharp movements, it is so funny. And then they bring this emotional trauma to his life. His story just really makes me laugh. It’s really great that him and Forky get to have this journey together.”.
Hale kids that his humour “comes from a lot of pain”a while his characters have had to do some outlandish things in his celebrated career, he says “Yes, I’ve had to do some colourful bits, however I actually would like to be held by Tom Hanks!”.
Greg Mason, VP of Marketing at Walt Disney Studios Canada took time to chat with us about how the idea of Duke Caboom originated and how his office was actually very much involved!
Mason: “It’s been three-and-a-half years in the making. It goes back to Zootopia where we had Peter Mansbridge do a cameo as Peter Moosebridge. We’re always trying to insert a bit of Canadian in here and there.”.
“We’ve had Jonas Rivera (Producer) in Toronto twice and I see him when I’m in San Francisco. After working on Inside Out, I asked if we could do a little something for Canada. And he replied, ‘You’re gonna love Inside Out. Riley plays hockey and her boyfriend is from Canada’.”.
Rivera came back to Mason, telling him, how for Toy Story 4, he had ideas in mind for a Canadian Dardevil character, letting them make notes on his Character Design and they even sent notes on Casting. He says, “Pixar is so detailed. Right away they said, the Actor had to be Canadian. Our team got together with suggestions and Keanu was on the list. We loved the idea of Keanu and they brought him in and did a read-through and that’s how it came to be.”.
It’s been a while since the last Toy Story film and a lot changing in how Movies are marketed since then. We ask Mason how this can be navigated.
Mason: “Very carefully. With knew we had something special with Duke Caboom and we wanted him front and centre, but it’s not a Duke Caboom film, it’s a Toy Story film. Pixar is wonderful about letting us do stuff and figure it out from here.”.
Jonas sent us the first photo of Duke and he had a box of Timbits! They think everything through and the Animators who worked on Duke, every single one was Canadian! I didn’t have to tell them that and our team is proud of this.”.
The festivities moved down the road in the evening to Scotiabank Theatre. Prizes to be won by guests at the Premiere included memorabilia from the Film including Plushies, T-Shirts and more. Fans got a chance too to see Hale on the Red Carpet and he was joined by Toronto’s Queen of Cake Decorating, Yolanda Gampp who presented a Toy Story-inspired cake. French-Canadian Voice Actor François Bellefeuille who voices Forky in the French-Canadian version also walked the Carpet as well!

Sometimes in life we are a bit quick to judge the unknown. If you asked me a year ago if I could see myself using a Huawei phone, I would’ve cried blasphemy, knowing well my brand loyalties. Flash-forward to now and I find myself back-peddling on my opinion.
The Huawei P30 Pro is unlike any phone I’ve used ever before. Being an avid Photographer whether it be on the Red Carpet, posing for Selfies with the stars, chronicling my food adventures or visits to my equine friends, my digital brand depends very much on a proper Smartphone. The device itself is almost as important as the content I deliver. We didn’t get voted Now Magazine Readers’ Choice Best Blogger wasting precious moments in our day. A ride on the subway is an opportunity to connect with my Readers. A lull in my day is a chance to tell you about something great I’ve discovered. I’ll admit most of the content I deliver on my Blog whether it be Reviews, First Looks or our famous Canada-wide Giveaways, more often than not is drafted on-the-go. While nothing can replace an SLR, my camera finally has met its match in the Huawei P30 Pro and its Leica Quad Camera System transfixing light and space. We love not having to upload photos from our SLR to our Smartphone via an upload utility when we can take actual SLR-quality pictures right on our phone itself.
Count ’em, the Huawei P30 Pro has FOUR Camera options:
•SuperZoom (50x) Lens
•40 MP Super Sensing Camera
•20 MP Ultra Wide Angle Lens
•HUAWEI TOF Camera
Also, don’t forget there’s a SpectacularMacro feature, letting you photograph with amazing clarity at 2.5 cm away from your subject. Detail you need to see to believe.
I confess, I am obsessed most with the Huawei P30 Pro‘s Portrait mode and continually find myself in awe at the breathtaking results the phone yields. Few can decipher the quality difference between a photo I’ve taken on the phone versus my SLR. If anything, the phone photos had more depth and richness in many instances.
The Huawei P30 Pro has an unparalleled 256GB storage for your photos, music, videos and files and operates with up to 8GB RAM on its 7 NM Processor. It literally could, if you dare, substitute a laptop with the array of apps you can access on Google Play Store, but know that its MateBook functionality too easily lets you transfer files to your laptop in seconds if you’re OCD about backing-up your files like me.
We can vouch that even after snapping content endlessly, plus loading the device with several high-power consuming apps for photo and video editing, we still couldn’t even put a dent in its memory capacity. This gives us sheer confidence that the phone is a keeper and something we can depend on.
Let’s talk aesthetics. The eye-pleasing phone comes in Breathing Crystal (I would have picked this!) and Black, with a 6.47″ OLED Dewdrop display and double 3D-curved glass body. We admit its sleekness makes it a bit slippery on the surface, so we wouldn’t use the phone without a proper case.
It synced beautifully via Bluetooth with the Honda Accord Hybrid we test-drove and our headset too. Note, there is no Audio jack and this is problematic if you need that for microphones or headphones. We will say though that the phone captures audio beautifully so you might be okay without a mic if you’re a Content Creator.
The Huawei P30 Pro has IP68 water and dust resistance for added peace of mind and protection. Best of all, its super-fast charge can arm you with up to 70% power in 30 minutes. This is just as good as several of its closest competitors in the market.
We won’t lie, the phone has a few quirks including making you set a PIN should you need to connect to VPN with the device for your job. We found it all too easily landed on Aperture, Pro and Video camera modes when trying to launch the camera, which is a bit of a nuisance when all you want to do is take a simple snap and do it on the fly. Another pain point is its Touch-Disable mode which triggers an error every time your fingers touch the top of the phone screen, not letting you proceed further in the name of preventing the trigger of accidental operations. We couldn’t take it no more and finally found a way to disable it in the phone’s settings. Honestly, we’re good Huawei – less is more, sometimes. These however are small issues if you look at the value and scope of what the phone can offer you. The phone excites us.

There isn’t much to say about the 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring that we haven’t already said in our previous peace. The beauty of a ride soars on all fronts and was just as superb as we recall in our Holiday adventures. More here.
The 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring powered by its 2.0-litre, 16-valve, Direct Injection, DOHC, i-VTEC® turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, offers outstanding fuel economy as our travels took us from the suburbs to the city, to the country! We had a busy, star-studded week at the 2019 Accord Hybrid took us there! With gas prices plummeting once again, we were able to make it through our five-day weekend on less than $40 and believe us, we saw a lot and had the AC on with the car’s highly-efficient Climate Control, as we finally saw some sun once again. Believe me, we put that moonroof to use as well, zipping through Burlington and working on our tan. We earned this amazing weather! We’ve seen this car now through sun, rain, snow, heat and cold and it prevails under all conditions.
One minor quirk we noticed after parking the park in the heat was that multiple alarming alerts with its Active Safety features among others, alerting us to bring the car to a dealer including:

While this took place we also noticed a bit of freezing navigating Display Audio System, which led us to do a Factory Default Reset. After parking the car overnight we noticed the alerts went away for good. If you recall over the winter, the car’s Tire Pressure Monitor System alert came on as well which caused a minor panic on Christmas Day for us, but alas was nothing to be concerned about after verifying tire pressure at the gas station.
We can’t resist the abundance of charging port options and neither could our friends who tagged along and the luxury of the leather-trimmed seats, the driver’s seat adjustable 12 ways , putting you in control of your drive like never before.
The Accord Hybrid synced beautifully with the Huawei P3o Pro we’re testing on its 452-watt AM/FM Premium audio system with MP3/Windows Media® Audio playback capability and 10 speakers including subwoofer, delivered audio magic and we can prove it! We’ve got Elton fever after witnessing the magic that is ROCKETMAN recently. You must see it!

We’ve been obsessed since SXSW! Check-out the green-band, safe for work Trailer for GOOD BOYS!
Synopsis:
After being invited to his first kissing party, 12-year-old Max (Room’s Jacob Tremblay) is panicking because he doesn’t know how to kiss. Eager for some pointers, Max and his best friends Thor (Brady Noon, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) and Lucas (Keith Williams, Fox’s The Last Man On Earth) decide to use Max’s dad’s drone – which Max is forbidden to touch – to spy (they think) on a teenage couple making out next door.
But when things go ridiculously wrong, the drone is destroyed. Desperate to replace it before Max’s dad (Will Forte, The Last Man on Earth) gets home, the boys skip school and set off on an odyssey of epically bad decisions involving some accidentally stolen drugs, frat-house paintball, and running from both the cops and terrifying teenage girls (Life of the Party’s Molly Gordon and Ocean’s Eight’s Midori Francis).

We don’t believe the Queen’s Plate is only a few weeks away! That marks the official one year mark Princess (A Pic by Mrwill) left Woodbine to begin her life of retirement. Where did the time go?
We checked-in with our two godchildren this weekend and they’re both doing so amazingly well. You wouldn’t believe it, but Princess still is growing and she’s five-years-old. According to her Veterinarian, this isn’t normal! LOL She now enjoys her daily turnout on the field at her new summer residence at her Aunt Mandy‘s near Bolton. Also there are some of her new friends including Little Freddy Fisher, an adorable mini-pony owned by Emily Fisher, Princess‘ new mom. As it’s been a while since she’s been able to run free while recuperating from her injury, Emily is trying to keep her calm and safe while she gets accustomed to her new surroundings. Princess’ appetite still is as voracious as ever, as is expected of a growing girl!

On the Prince front, Mr Will has been progressing nicely for his mom, Michelle Love. He’s on a regular training schedule on the Main Track at Woodbine in the mornings and has been throwing bullet workouts every week since his first official workout May 17th. He’s been working in company with some other babies in his barn and Michelle tells us she’s very excited with how he’s coming along! It’s fascinating seeing his personality shape and he’s definitely got a bit of fire to him. It’s true what they say about firey Gingers! He isn’t quite as snuggly and treat-obsessed as Princess and he can get a little bit nippy at times, but he is undeniably a sweet boy who does like affection. There isn’t a date set yet for those wondering when he’ll debut at the races, but he definitely is showing ability!
See this clip of him below:
