CARS 3 accelerates to the top of the Box Office in North American this weekend for Pixar/Disney with a $51.5 million opening from 4,256 theatres. This ranks this installment third overall for highest opening in the Franchise, behind 2011’s CARS 2 which opened with $66 million. It gets a passing 65% on the Tomatometer from Critics and an A CinemaScore from Audiences.

In third in its debut is Tupac Shakur Biopic ALL EYEZ ON ME from Lionsgate Films/VVS Films, with an impressive $33.5 million. Critics gave it 24% on the Tomatometer and Audiences gave it an A- CinemaScore which might help boost word of mouth.

In fifth is 47 METERS DOWN with $10.6 million for Entertainment Studios, starring Matthew Modine, Claire Holt and Mandy Moore. It gets 55% on the Tomatometer and a C CinemaScore.

We just can’t get enough of Comedies about girls just having some fun! With an all-star cast, ROUGH NIGHT already looks like one of this summer’s funniest (and messiest) adventures on-screen! I admit, we’re super curious about seeing Scarlett Johansson in a comedy.
Synopsis:
Five best friends from college (played by Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer and Zoë Kravitz) reunite 10 years later for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami. Their hard partying takes a hilariously dark turn when they accidentally kill a male stripper. Amidst the craziness of trying to cover it up, they’re ultimately brought closer together when it matters most.
