Productions are back in full swing in Toronto and we couldn’t be happier!
One of the latest projects to film in Toronto is The CW Pilot GOTHAM KNIGHTS, which begins production next week. The Series imagines a Batman-less Gotham and the heroes who step-in to save it from danger.
Synopsis:
In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights.
Olivia Rose Keegan has landed the role of Duela Dent in the Pilot, and is already in town to being work. You might recognize her for her work as Lily in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on Disney+. She also won a Daytime Emmy in 2020 for Outstanding Younger Performer, recognizing her work as Claire Brady on Days of our Lives. Big things are ahead as Keegan stars alongside Riley Keough in DAISY JONES & THE SIX, and also popular HBO Max series MINX.
Above this, we also spotted her Co-Star, the amazing MISHA COLLINS whom you loved in SUPERNATURAL. Just last year he was seen in TIFF ’21 selection ENCOUNTER starring alongside eventual Oscar winner Riz Ahmed. Collins is such a kind soul, taking a moment to stop for pictures with fans despite being held back for a while after landing. He stars in GOTHAM KNIGHTS as villain Harvey Dent.
Mckenna Grace ‘s star continues to rise fast. Yes, that was her starring in Box Office-topping GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE, and yes, that was her as young Tonya Harding in Oscar-nominated I, TONYA. And yup, just checked, that was also her in TV hits FULLER HOUSE and YOUNG SHELDON. The sweet Grace was spotted back in the City to do work on acclaimed THE HANDMAID’S TALE as Esther Keyes, but of course not without her adorable Yorkie named Gizmo!
Also in-town is REBECCA ROMIJN, whom also was a victim of delays upon arriving, but still managing to look super-chic, sporting a Gucci x The North Face collabo bag. She’s back in-town filming STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS which premieres on Paramount+ this May. She reprises her role as Una Chin-Riley from STAR TREK: DISCOVERY.
You know how much we love Netflix‘s OZARK. How amazing is it that we got to meet JASON BUTLER HARNER, who stars as FBI Agent Roy Petty in the first two seasons, hot on Marty Byrde‘s (Jason Bateman) trail? He wouldn’t quite disclose what he’s in-town filming but nonetheless was so amazingly-nice!
Overjoyed to see these smiling faces in our City and we can’t wait to see what’s next and coming!

While the end is being signaled for highly-acclaimed Netflix Series OZARK, we at least get the final season rationed in two parts to make it a bit easier to say goodbye. The first-half of Season Four is before is and we catch-up with The Byrdes who refuse to go down in defeat in this game of money laundering.
Enter to the picture Javi (Alfonso Herrera), the erratic nephew of kingpin Omar Navarro (Felix Angel Solis). Unpredictable, he is looking to take the reins and breathe new life into his family’s business, and he could care less about his uncles allegiance to the Byrdes. Using every single resource they have, the Byrdes who are own their successful casino and are more hated than ever in Ozark. Wendy (Laura Linney) is out to clean-up her reputation, attaching herself to philanthropic work, and she is more ferocious than ever, no longer just the supportive wife in the background. She and Marty (Jason Bateman) are in deeper trouble than ever before. And at a quick turn of temper, Javi could end it all for them. And at this point really, what do they have to lose? So they go all in.
At the heart of this first-half of the final season are themes of grieving and feuding. Noah (Skylar Gaertner) rebels against and betrays his family, numb from all his family has brought him through, but when things get really scary, this truly tests the strength of their familial bond. Ruth (Julia Garner) also is coping with the loss of her father and also her lover, Ben (Tom Pelphrey), Wendy‘s brother. Wendy also is coping with the loss too, but is forced to pretend she doesn’t know he’s dead. We see Ruth try to navigate this sense of sadness with rage as she’s looking to build an empire of her own. And though she’s been there to help the Byrde family in the past, their relationship falls on shaky footing this season.
The performances continue to mesmerize and Garner continues to deliver some phenomenal work as Ruth, single-handedly stealing the entire show. She balances the quiet pain that Ruth is experiencing within this season and more than ever before we see her vulnerability beneath her outbursts and tough exterior. Linney also is so good that Wendy convinces herself of all the contrivances she’s created, learning to harness her power as an equal partner in this family operation.
As expected, we’re left on a bit of a cliffhanger, but can’t wait to see how the second-half of this season plays out. Tune-in if you’re looking for an anxiety-ridden good time as the first-half of OZARK Season Four streams Friday, January 21, 2022 on Netflix.

More than ever, we are blessed to be living in the time of Netflix. I can’t even imagine how else I’d be passing the time during this period of isolation. If you’re like me and pretty caught-up on your theatrical releases, that leaves us with plenty of Television to watch and here are some of our favourites, which are worth your time the streaming service.
THE TIGER KING. If you still haven’t streamed this gripping Docu-Series, you are in for a treat. We’ve got murder, drugs, a gay love triangle, country crooning, felons and a heaping serving of spite in this deeply-enthralling look at the world of feuding Tiger Conservationists. At the center of it all is Oklahoma’s flamboyant Joe Exotic who recently was sentenced to a 22-year prison sentence for several counts of animal cruelty and two counts of murder-for-hire? Who did he try to have murdered? His arch-nemesis, Tampa’s Carole Baskin of Big Cat Rescue who also is at the center of some revived controversy surrounding the disappearance of her ex-husband, Don Lewis. Several too crazy to be true plot twists and turns are revealed, with even more unbelievable characters surrounding the story. The buzz was warranted. We remember it popping-up on our screen and not being interested at first, but are we glad we gave it a chance. Obsessed.
COFFEE & KAREEM. Ed Helms stars in this Buddy-Cop Comedy as disgraced officer James Coffee, who finds himself wanted for murder and the abduction of his girlfriend Vanessa‘s (Taraji P. Henson) potty-mouthed son Kareem (Terrence Little Gardenhigh). Little do they know that he actually is protecting Kareem as they are on-the-run from Detroit’s most dangerous gangsters after Kareem plots to scare-off James by hiring a criminal in the first place and it goes horribly wrong, all because Kareem doesn’t approve of James. The jokes are crude, the humour is purely-raunchy but the shock-fueled giggles are plentiful. We love Harris, and Gardenhigh stamps himself a name to look-out for. We just wish there was more Henson!
OZARK SEASON 3. The Byrde Family are back, launching their riverboat casino The Missouri Belle, and matters get even more complicated with the arrival of Wendy‘s brother Ben (Tom Pelphrey) who battles addiction and mental illness. He falls in love with one of our favourite characters, unpredictable firecracker Ruth (Julia Garner). The Drug Cartel’s fierce lawyer Helen (Janet McTeer) returns and we wonder whether or not she can be trusted, as she vies with The Byrdes for favouritism with Cartel leader Omar Navarro (Felix Solis). We go deeper into these characters’ minds as we see The Byrdes coping with their crumbling marriage with their fight for survival continuing to weigh them down. We see a bit more of Ruth’s vulnerability as Ben peels a layer off of her and he keeps us at the edge of our seats with his erratic behaviour, unsure if he will ruin everything for his family. Yet another cliffhanger of a season finale and we can’t wait for Season 4!
NAILED IT! OMG. How have we not heard of this Show sooner? Life has been changed forever after witnessing the greatness that is NAILED IT!, a Series which refreshingly gives mediocre bakers a shot at glory and a $10k prize as they are pit against one another to replicate some unattainable-level difficult baking creations each episode. Each episode has a new guest judge from a wide array of disciplines: sports, entertainment and culinary. The banter between Comedienne Nicole Byer and head judge, Mr. Chocolate himself, Jacques Torres is amazing. We love the vibe, we love laughing with everyone about the mediocrity. This hot mess aesthetic is exactly the lift in spirits we need right now and through it all we usually learn something out of these contestants’ failures. I zipped through all four seasons rapidly.
THE CHEFS’ LINE. This Australian series is a hidden gem and a must-watch for lovers of diverse cuisine. Each week the Series explores a new ethnicity of fare with four home cooks competing with a line of chefs each episode from some of Australia’s hottest restaurants. The judges, Mark Olive, Dan Hong and Melissa Leong, aren’t told who made each dish and you’d be surprised how great some of these amateur cooks are and how close a match it is sometimes! Lots to learn about process and details in what elevates good food to great. We adore Melissa Leong, such an eloquent beauty!
BREAKFAST, LUNCH & DINNER. Travel with world-renowned Chef David Chang to Los Angeles, Phnom Penh, Vancouver and Marrakesh with Lena Waithe, Kate McKinnon, Seth Rogen and Chrissy Teigen. While this four-episode Docu-Series acts equal parts as celebrity one-on-one and an exposition of each city’s fantastic food finds, we found ourselves fascinated by the subjects and their paths to success. Above all the food looked amazing, and we’re taking notes what new places to try next time we visit L.A. It was trippy seeing Rogen and Chang enjoy Chinese Roast Pork at a hole-in-the-wall in suburban Vancouver! We are excited for Chang‘s UGLY DELICIOUS 2, which is coming soon on Netflix.
Some exciting new releases coming soon including a Documentary SURVIVING R. KELLY and LOVE WEDDING REPEAT starring Sam Claflin and Olivia Munn! Stay tuned.
